Since you hadn't been exercising before, you might be gaining some muscle mass to offset your fat loss, yes. But also, I would advise against "eating back" the exercise calories, in case you have been doing that. The exercise calories can be way overestimated. Waist measurement is the first thing to change for most men;…

A hundred and ten new messages? I cannot keep up with you ladies  Yes to juicy details from Chris :sunglasses: Yes to controlling RA with diet...it works for me; I have almost no symptoms at all. Yes to practice runs....I even got three good book recommendations, and a basic understanding of what mathematical…

Thank you, CJ. I'm glad I did it. And good for you, not going to the wedding. It's an invitation, not a summons.

Me too....you have no idea how much I wanted there to be juicy details  He's a truly good guy, and very smart, but extremely reserved, and unnervingly thin, whereas I'm a bit...kinetic and childlike and I can't seem to repress it very well, and, well, I'm a big, viking woman-- I swear to god my arm muscles are bigger…

I mostly worked on whip kicks in class today. I'm terrible at them; it's right where I'm weak, post-hip-surgery. Will work more tomorrow. My (closest) pool is open again!

Math professor report: no sparks. zero. Conversation was interesting, and we agreed on nearly everything, but we just weren't having fun. harumpf. oh well. Larisa in Seattle

"I don't do math. I write software to do math for me." --me  Larisa

Hooray! I'm excited for you, Chris! Hoping for a bit of a romantic movie, myself, as I'm meeting the math professor on Sunday. Hi to everyone else! I'll be more involved again next week, hopefully. Oh I will add that my hot-and-cold flashes have been diagnosed as adrenal insufficiency, not…

My pool opens again on Monday....you are all inspiring me!

Great goals! You got this. Hey ladies, sorry I've been out of the loop. Having a weird week. Thinking of you all though, and wishing you victory! Edited to add: GRRR after a very stressful day, and after logging all my food for the day, I found myself mysteriously chomping on a radish. Thank goodness it…

That depends on a lot of other factors like your frame size and muscle mass. From what I can see in your photo, it doesn't seem likely that you are significantly overweight.
-
You can do this! May I friend you and cheer your progress?

Swim class yesterday; spent about 45 minutes working on crawl stroke technique and on endurance. Didn't count total laps, though.
-
I sort of swam today, in that I took my first ever diving lesson. It was amazing.
-
Good evening, Ladies! I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend. :flowerforyou: I can't even attempt the sit and rise test until I'm done recovering from that last surgery...but I don't care, cuz I'm gonna live until the skydiving accident I have planned for my mid nineties  Larisa

HOLEEE EXPLETIVE-INDUCING TERRORTHRILLS, I walked my scaredy-cat self out to the end of the (bouncy, bouncy) springboard and then I threw myself off it. And then I did it again. Several times. Happy Saturday! Larisa in Seattle

I'm actually proud of having made it out to the "other pool" all of once this week, but I have a diving lesson tomorrow! That should be exciting...and swim class on Sunday. I'm going to try for twice, next week, and the week after, my regular pool opens again.

That's kind of what I pictured as possible--maybe I'd marry a man with kids, and at least be a grandma. To date a man who still wants kids? Seems a little far-fetched. I date men age 40-46; that's who asks me out (I won't date under 40, and men my age, IDK, aren't interested), but no one I have dated, has wanted kids, so…

Black. I log it; according to MFP it's 5 calories.

I believe so...and who knows, maybe I'm destined to adopt in my 50s and finally be a mom.

:sunglasses: I must friend you now.

Welcome, Patsy! I gasped out loud when I scrolled to your loom pic. I used to weave, and I am hanging on to my looms (two Dundas 24"; one four shaft and one 12), for when I get the chance again. Larisa

YOU ROCK

Thanks for that perspective. He's never been married before, so no 'other party' in that sense. I had wanted kids, when I was younger. In my case, it was the other party...and so much has happened to me, since then... Still, I would probably consider adopting, with the right man, despite my age. People in my family…

Thanks for all the congrats on my exciting progress! I'm really happy about it myself. Michele, I've been doing the TRX at the gym, but I like it so much I may buy a strap for home. I can't afford one this month, so I have plenty of time to decide. Well, Ladies, I promised I would dish, soo....I've been…

I swam! My closest pool is closed temporarily and everyone's crowding into the other pool, along with its regular swimmers, so not a lot of laps for me. But just getting in some practice, was a joy.

Good evening. Lovely Ladies! I walked almost four miles today, without *that* much complaining from my wonky hip. That was after an hour of TRX! Six months ago, I had to limp heavily after half a mile or so, and was just about crying by the one-mile mark...so I quit for a while and focused on squats and lunges. Today was…

I'll be your ridiculous friend  I, too, gained my weight sustaining multiple ortho surgeries after an injury. I'm on the come-back trail right now.

THAT'S AMAZING! Wow!
