How often do you binge?
-
I've started my day with sweets and ate them all day. It depends on the person I guess.
-
I thought I answered above. You may have gained some fat, along with the fluid. Unfortunately, we can't answer with absolute certainty whether or not this will result in a gain for you. You will have to wait it out and see. Everyone is different. The deficit may help you mitigate the gain. Also depending on your TDEE, it…

So roughly 4600 on Valentines day and 1850 extra calories from the prior week is how you got to 6450? I guess it's all about perspective. When I eat hormonally every 4-6 weeks, I may hit close to 4600. It doesn't bother me. It's only one day and I get right back on track. If this is not something that is done frequently…

I agree. Sometimes we just overeat. It's not always necessary to analyze why we did it. Now, I agree with what you are saying. If it's uncontrolled and frequent, then some further analysis and possible help may be needed. I know during the holidays for Xmas for 3 days straight, I ate over 6,000 calories. I was visiting…

Agree. I couldn't have lost the weight nor remained in maintenance over a year if I were hungry/starving. I would have fallen back into old habits quickly.

I didn't notice this when I posted below. I just ordered a magnesium citrate supplement from Amazon. I'm planning on trying it this weekend.
-
I've taken Senokot. It's expensive, but it works without cramping the stomach. It has senna. I'm going to try magnesium citrate supplements though to see how that works. Sometimes, I suffer from constipation due to stomach issues.

Me too. I'm an abstainer instead of a moderator. I stay away from things that cause me to lose control. I add things that I love to eat and can do so in moderation. It works for me, and I don't feel deprived. I will say that I am white knuckling it through Girl Scout cookie season. :D

what did you eat for 6450 calories? Was it one huge meal ending with the tub of frosting?
-
Most of any weight gain from this is water from excess carbs and sodium as well as undigested food. If you cut by 500 calories a day, you will be eating less than 1,000 calories per day. I wouldn't recommend that. If you eat a slight deficit the rest of the week, drink lots of water, and wait it out, you will be fine. If…

It's interesting that you use the words retrain your hunger. I feel that's what I have done with IF 16:8. Before I started IF in October, I felt the need to eat as soon as I became hungry. But IF taught me that if I ride it out for a bit, the hunger actually goes away. It was so amazing because after all these years, I…

This is what I do by using the 16:8 IF method. I delay eating as long as possible. Sometimes longer than 16 hours. You're right. Once I eat my first thing for the day, my brain says game on. It's feeding time. So, I try to push that back as long as possible. In fact, I'm already past the 16 hour mark. I'll try to hold off…

It will not allow you to manually change each day to 1430? It seems like it has a lock on those 1300 calorie days. That's weird.
-
Agree, I weigh daily as well in order to mindful of the range. I also know the trends. I'm my lowest weight on Sunday. It then creeps up a little each day for the next 3 days or so regardless of what I eat. Then by Thursday it's coming back down until Sunday, on which it's about the same or less than the previous Sunday…

I love the site as well. I was just thinking yesterday that I honestly don't believe that I could have maintained an 85 pound weight loss for over a year without this app. I didn't use it until I reached maintenance because I really didn't know much about it. But right around the time that I reached my maintenance, I…

Yes, that's what she said in her post that it was just water weight that came off in less than a week of going back into a deficit.
-
Agreed. I used to watch TV and eat before I started my weight loss journey 22 months ago. I stopped doing that now. I only eat in the kitchen at the table or the bar, and I never have the TV on. I like to focus on my food. Now, I can't stand to have the TV on when I eat. When I visited family over the holidays, I asked my…

Good point. Thanks for this reminder.

I actually like the House brand better. However I've only had The Better than brand rice not the noodles. Now I buy the miracle brand rice and house brand noodles. I use them in all dishes. I love it. Today I'll have the rice with my southwest fajita bowl. Yummy

I'm an abstainer. There are some foods I will not buy. I have no control with them, but I eat other yummy stufff that I love. So I don't feel deprived.
-
During the holidays I went to visit family for 3 days. I logged 6,000 calories each day and added a food note stating what I ate. I pigged out. So I think my calories were higher. Just guess and monitor how it impacts your progress. I bet it will be minimal impact.
-
Do So were you eating a lot and just exercising a lot to compensate for the extra calories?
-
Me too. So I don't bring it home.
-
I also do IF mainly 16:8 but some days my eating window is only 5 or 6 hours because I've fasted longer. It seems the longer I do IF I am able to extend my fasting window. Many days it's at least 18 hours. I started in October and I absolutely love it.
-
The same for me. Sometimes I go longer. It's 5:00 pm CST and I haven't eaten since 10:30 on last night.
-
I agree totally. I overindulge up to over 4,000 calories hormonally. I never call it binging for the same reasons.

Lol
