I think this is different for each woman. Some of the perimenopausal issues that I experienced in 2017-2018 were unheard of by any women in my life (i.e. families, friends and some doctors). Many of them believed that it had to be something else. I persisted and advocated for my own health and located a young female…

I understand. I know that I couldn't be successful with my weight management if I didn't live alone. I think many people have some area of their lives where they lack impulse control (i.e. finances, drinking, eating, smoking etc.). It's not always just a matter of self-discipline and self-control. I hope that you can come…

I like that mantra. I don't really have a mantra. I just know that I had to make some major lifestyle adjustments even after losing weight because I want to be well. For the most part, I'm happy with my lifestyle changes, but sometimes, I get a little irritated with the restrictions, but that's life.

I fast for 20 hours a day and eat 60-65% carbs. No problems at all.

I totally agree that we must advocate for ourselves. It makes a world of difference in overall treatment.

I drink 2 20 oz diet cokes every day as my treat after work. No impact on my weight. I look forward to my 2 sodas.

Was this frozen pumpkin? I'm assuming fresh pumpkins are out of season. Just asking because I really like pumpkin, and was wondering where you found them.

So sorry to hear about your sister. I have the symptom of clearing my throat at times, and upon awakening in the morning, I will cough up some mucous. When it first started, I had a few tests that came back clear. It bothered me a lot when it first happened 3.5 years ago. I go through periods when it's worse than others,…

Some women are more sensitive to hormonal fluctuations than others. Sometimes, this sensitivity can result in compulsive overeating and/or binge eating behaviors. Since not every woman experiences it, oftentimes they may advise you to do the usual 3 things that you listed. The only thing that resolved my food issues was to…

Perimenopause hit me in full swing 2 years ago. It was a disastrous nightmare. It triggered symptoms of PMDD as well as an autoimmune disorder that caused my hands to burn as if someone placed it on a stove. I also became histamine intolerant and had many, many other symptoms. Each woman is so different. So, keep searching…

Please seek help for this. These things generally get worse over time. The restrict cycle is not helping. It's only making this harder.

Did you get BED after surgery?

I'm smaller now than I was in high school. I was averaging about 140-150 pounds in high school. Much smaller now.

I used to take magnesium citrate; however, it impacted my renal function. Some people think there is no limit on how much you can take, but that is not the case. So be careful with excessive amounts of magnesium.

What type of medications do you take? I'm on a medication that has constipation as a side effect. If that is the case, regular constipation remedies such as extra fiber, water etc. don't work. I intake a little over the recommended daily fiber, fat intake is good, and drink over 100 ounces of water a day and still have…

Being in a deficit for a prolonged period of time has an impact on various hormones that influence eating behaviors. The same is true for weight loss. I had this same issue when I first started eating more after losing weight and being in an prolonged deficit. These hormones should eventually settle and your appetite…

I just started the 1 Tbs ground flax about a month ago and just reduced the amount because I am stopped up. I may have to cut the flax completely. I add it to my egg salad and really like texture that it gives my salad, but I'm afraid it's stopping me up.

I think you are still beautiful. Good luck on your journey.

I've been maintaining for 3 years. I weigh and track my food, exercise 5-6 days a week. I don't weigh myself though. In fact, I recently threw away my scale. Since I know my maintenance calorie range for my activity level, I just eat at that level pretty consistently. Good luck!

I stay really busy on weekends doing chores, exercising and other unplanned activities. I try not to settle in at home until after 4 pm.

No apologies needed. I was concerned for you, and hoped that this was an isolated incident.

I was so stricken by this post that I thought of it constantly after I read it yesterday. I can't imagine the fear and panic that accompanies this disorder. Sleep eating or sleep walking must be so frightening. The risk of harm is great. Please take care of yourself and seek help if this continues.
