I also used to say that you could tell how stressed I am by my weight. I lost weight almost 3 years ago, and I try to work through my stress without eating now because I feel that if I regain the weight this time, it would be too much of a struggle to lose again. Good luck on your journey.

I totally agree regarding having the mental bandwidth. I think being in the right place mentally is crucial. Sometimes, we just have to strive to survive. That's not giving us an excuse to just let go, but it can be a reason why we struggle to hang on. I am amazed at people who are successful with their healthy lifestyle…

I'm the same way. I think it's because I eat so fast that I can eat so much food before feeling full. Therefore, I log everything daily. On most days, I am able to eat exactly what I pre-log. Some days, I go completely over. But I make sure to adjust intake to average to my maintenance over a 30 day period. Neither my mom…

I don't get hungry but my cravings are out of control. Hedonic..... So, I guard my sleep very diligently. I know that bad things happen (eating wise) the next day if I don't sleep at night.

I feel bad laughing at these posts because some are jarring. I knew that the post regarding chemicals and the one about tricking your body was going to get some interesting replies. I can't stop laughing. OP, I went about 15 months without drinking anything but water. Then I started back to drinking diet sodas. I enjoy…

I love IF. I started 17 months ago with 16:8. Now, I'm 21:3. I love it I eat all my food in a short period of time. It's convenient. I don't have to worry about bringing lunch or breakfast to work. I can sit at my dinner table after my shower and relax and eat my meals. My eating window is 7:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. It helps my…

I like the comparison to the generator. Good analogy.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

I don't know much about thyroid issues, but it's my understanding that hypo actually slows down your metabolism. So, you can gain weight eating similar calories to what you were before. The disease progresses over time. It doesn't make it impossible to lose, but you really have to adjust and watch your calorie intake. It's…

I like the PB2. I get it at Target or Whole Foods. It's really good to me.

I was out of control last year with GS cookies. Since that time, I have allowed other treats/cookies into my diet that taste as good or better. Therefore, I think I will pass on the GS cookies this year or I will wait until the last weekend they are selling to buy a couple of boxes. Then I know I won't be able to get…

I will always have to count calories. Some weeks I really overindulge, and I log it all because I need to know how to course correct from those indulgences and stay within my maintenance calorie/weight range over a 30 day period. I am thankful for MFP. However, many people just eyeball. Do what works for you and causes you…

What's important is to learn your triggers. Good luck

3 weeks ago, I started trying to cut back on having so many food splurges. In the process, I started drinking diet coke. I drink about 40 ounces a day, but I also drink at least 80 ounces of water. I felt a little guilty at first about drinking that much diet coke, but I got over it. I really enjoy it and it helps me not…

I love it I love it for the same reason. Learning that hunger isn't bad and can be managed was the greatest benefit for me. I don't have to plan my activities around whether or not I have eaten yet. I now fast 21 hours a day and I don't eat my first meal until 7:30 p.m. My window to eat is 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. So I know…

I once loved them. You have to prepare them correctly. I ate them almost daily for about 4 months to volumize my meals. I got so clogged up, I think something was seriously wrong with me. I started taking magnesium citrate supplements and stopped eating these noodles. I'm back to normal now. I haven't had any in almost a…

I don't have the hunger per se but my cravings and desire to eat intensifies, but I'm not hungry. It also happens during PMS.
