I'm a huge fan of the fresh pico de gallo. I also like their veggie burgers, both the black bean and plain. I wish they sold tofu year-round. Mine only sells it when they do the Fusia line as a special buy. I buy the guacamole and almond milk.

My calories are set around 1240. I workout hard six days a week. I do strength training four days a week, take an hour and a half dance class once a week, and except for one total rest day per week, I practice tap dance for 30 minutes. So, by the time it's all said and done, I'm eating closer to 1400 calories, but I still…

I do one of two things. I will either be very, very mindful about my caloric intake the entire rest of the week and simply enjoy one splurge meal on a holiday without worrying about it (I also tend to hit the gym on Thanksgiving day to burn any extra calories), or I will try and track what I eat as best I can. I'm very…

I had a very successful run with WW back when they first debuted PointsPlus. I loved how easy it was to track my food and I lost about 60lbs doing it, over the course of about a year. When they switched some things over and they did Simply Filling, I tried that. Gained 12lbs. Then they switched to SmartPoints, and it's…

My aunt gave me her Emeril one that she got from QVC and I use it every day. I'm a vegan, so I have never made the fried chicken, but I love making crispy tofu in mine. I also make French fries and heat through veggie burger patties. So awesome when I don't want to crank up the oven.

Technically, if it's right after your workout it isn't DOMS. With that said, if you're literally unable to move five days past your last workout you're doing something wrong. Either your form is off or you're overloading your muscles, or both. I workout every single day. Two days a week are just cardio, then the other days…

I'm vegan!

If you won't have access to a measuring cup, you can make a close guess by holding your fingers against the side of the glass, ring finger at the top of the stem. Each finger's thickness is approximately an ounce in most barware. Now, if wine is being served, most servers will fill the glasses with a 5oz pour.

The gym, hands down. I find it keeps me motivated.

Usually I have eaten them as a snack-on-the-go between breakfast and lunch, if I skipped breakfast. On the rare occasions I've consumed them after dinner, I didn't notice any ill-effects on my digestion or ability to sleep soundly. My all-time favorite was the limited edition pumpkin pie one, but for regular line flavors I…

Quorn is quite repulsive. I don't eat a lot of meat substitutes any more, as I found them to be a more transitional type food. But I will, occasionally, eat a veggie burger patty or the little Gardein non-crab crab cakes. I find that I don't really have too much trouble getting in my protein. I eat quinoa, tofu, tempeh,…

Well, this thread certainly got interesting. Diet shaming, petty bickering, cats, conspiracy theories, insults, more insults, BroScience, WooScience, and feminism LOL

There is a guy who is always at the gym the same time I am. He looks just like Glenn Beck. He hits the preacher curls for about 5 minutes and spends the rest of the time staring at women. He's funny.

Cardio makes your heart strong and helps burn some visceral fat (the fat that surrounds your organs). Strength training will tone and help break down subcutaneous fat, which is the fatty layer just under the skin. With that said, none of these will make you lose weight if you are not eating at a deficit. I highly recommend…

Only about half, if I eat them at all.

I got on the treadmill the other night after hitting the weight room and when I went to put my gloves in the cupholder, it was full of Tootsie Roll wrappers. It was...surreal LOL

I used to eat Quest bars before adopting a plant-based diet. They're good. My all-time favorite (which is a limited edition seasonal one) was the pumpkin spice one. It had a different texture than the original bars. More of a wafer cookie and rice crispies texture. In the original line, my favorites were Cookies n Cream,…

I wouldn't say they have psychological advantages. To me they feel like a dangerous, brief lapse back into the same eating habits that lead to weight gain in the first place. They certainly don't have any physical advantages beyond tasting good. I stay within my calories every single day. If I want a planned splurge, I…

I was able to do 9 bench dips at the gym tonight. I'm getting stronger :)

I'm a member of PF and it's fine for my immediate capabilities and short-term goals. People need to understand that PF is a franchise business model. They exist specifically to make a lot of money by making their gym as appealing as possible to as broad a base as possible to get ten times as many people as maximum gym…

Ah, I saw this post over on the Bodybuilding forum. The guys over there gave you some very sound advice, especially about staggering days of eating at maintenance level and eating at a calorie deficit. Nausea during exercise is not normal. It means you are either dehydrated, lacking nutrients, on the verge of heat…

I workout late also. I usually get home around 10pm and I always have a smoothie that is high in carbs and protein. It's important to be fueled before and after a workout.

I typically do not keep an eye on my sugar intake, because very little of my daily intake is refined sugar. And that isn't for weight loss (because, CI/CO is what works), but just for my own personal overall health. Processed sugar isn't inherently evil, but I find the less I consume, the more energy I have. The macros I…

I would say do what you feel most comfortable with and if it works, then you're on the right path. I, personally, do not log steps and I only eat back 50% of my calories burned just to err on the side of overestimating burns.

No. I refuse to give up certain things as well, but I make them work within my lifestyle. I am careful about portion size, find ways to "lighten" up the food, or just make up for the extra calories at the gym. I have found that cheat days lead to a sense of complacency. One unaccounted for day ends up slipping into, "well,…

There is no scientific data to back up the claim that diet sodas lead to fat around the midsection. If you enjoy diet sodas, enjoy them in moderation. Don't use them as a substitute for water, but if you want one or two a day, there is nothing wrong with that. I don't drink them often, but I enjoy a Diet Pepsi maybe once a…

Yikes, I didn't realize this had been resurrected. My bad.

I can second people hogging the machines and benches. If the gym is busy and I'm resting between sets, I'll get up and let someone else do their set. If the gym is empty I just stay put. The other is people who roll out yoga mats and do Pilates and block the abs benches.

There are a ton of factors involved. Upping weights and/or reps can cause your muscles to become inflamed and create a slight, but temporary, weight gain. Menstrual cycles, not being diligent about food tracking, over estimating how many calories you're burning during a workout, etc. I highly recommend using a digital food…
