I was actually just thinking about this earlier today. I was thinking about the reasons I've been so much more successful losing weight this time than I ever have been before. Losing that mentality has been a big part of it. I also find I enjoy foods far more when I eat them in their intended serving size. I savor them…

I laugh every time someone asks is riced cauliflower tastes like rice. Well, no. It tastes like cauliflower. The shape of it doesn't change what it is.

One pear, one orange and a pint of blueberries

My advice would be not to listen to any of this other than the part about moving on from a down day.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the comments on Pinterest. DIY crafts get people really worked up. And very mean and judge-y.
-
Yes to what? It doesn't speed up weight loss.

A very good read, thank you

I buy them because I feel bad for them. I feel bad for the fruit. :( I'm shameful :(

I didn't know you could turn them off. I usually just tell it, out loud, not to tell me how to live my life.

I hear that. I live in Ohio now and I'm from Iowa. Some people just can't comprehend. Then their heads pop off

I've logged in for 300 days but I was coming here a couple months before that, just not daily. I foresee myself coming here many 300s more
-
At how many (or fewer) carbs grams a day does it typically occur? Or is it relative? Say, you go from eating ~300g carbs a day to <100g. You're nowhere near keto levels but are lower carb than a traditional diet. Is it possible to experience it? What about in a situation where you already eat low-ish carbs, ~150g and move…

That's why I was sharing my experience and how beneficial a weight tracking app has been for me.

I really only show a loss on the scale one week a month, the week of my TOM. The other three weeks I fluctuate in a two to three pound range. Then my TOM starts and I go down, down, down every day until it ends. That's my whole loss for the month. It wasn't until I started using a daily weight tracking app that I realized…
-
You said you've 'barely' seen the scale move. What's barely? A pound? Half a pound? With only 14 to 20 pounds to lose, half a pound a week is a decent loss. I don't know what you mean by your body 'warming up'.
-
I appreciate that. I admire that. That's why I was expressing genuine curiosity when asking.
-
Three to four pounds is within normal fluctuation. You don't have "one true weight". It's a range, usually somewhere around five pounds
-
It won't give you anything unless you eat at least 1,000 calories for breakfast and try that. It won't let you 'close' it and give you a prediction if you're below that.

I use Smart Balance but there is nothing that compares to real butter

My hack is to buy the premade ones. They taste awesome

I'm shocked how many people prefer Coke Zero. I love Diet Coke, don't care for Coke Zero at all. Or Pepsi Max for that matter
-
It's pretty good. I make it a little more runny than they suggest. I've mixed it with oatmeal and yogurt, both worked well

Relax and accept that your skin will be the way your skin is when the weight loss is done. I have lost 130 pounds and have quite a lot of loose skin. I have 90+ pounds left to lose. When I'm done, I will be the scary nightmare you shudder at. That's the difference though. You worry about it. I don't. I just want to be…

I agree. I'm genuinely curious. I can't think of anything that would make both of those things medically necessary but I certainly don't know everything. I'm also curious if someone's ethical conviction combined with a medical need is strong enough to support such a restrictive diet.
-
May I ask why you're doing keto as a vegan? That seems unnecessarily restrictive.
-
That mentality is exactly how people become, and stay, obese. Sincerely, Your formerly 400 pounder
