  • Feel free to add me
  • As long as I drink in moderation and stay within my calories, I still lose while drinking. I needed to find a way to incorporate it so I can maintain this as a lifestyle, rather than a diet. I have the most success when I "bank" exercise calories during the week so I can drink on the weekend. If I drink too much, I don't…
  • I make room for a snack each night and it gives me something to look forward to each day, and helps me stay on track all day. I find the best motivation is seeing results on the scale, so give yourself time to get there and don't give up!
  • I like doing zumba videos on YouTube at home, although that's just cardio. My personal fave is Danielle's Habibis, although there are only a few full-length (30 min) videos. Daily Burn is also great and has a TON of options. I never get bored with it.
  • Feel free to add me. I've slacked a little this summer in terms of logging and mostly have been eating at maintenance, but I'm back on track this week and plan to keep it up. I've lost 17lbs so far and I'm trying to lose another 10 (maybe more).
  • I'm not sure about weight loss and I'm skeptical about that, but acupuncture got rid of my chronic tension headaches after about 3 weeks of treatments. I've been headache-free for a year. I went to a place that offered "community" acupuncture and worked on a sliding scale - you decided what you want to pay - so that made…
  • Chips and dip Chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant Pizza Damn it, I'm hungry!
  • My goal is 1500/day on a sedentary day: Breakfast: 150-200 Snack: 100 Lunch: 500 Dinner: 600 Snack: 100-150 If I want a bigger dinner, I'll exercise and/or skip my evening snack.
  • I'm 5'1" and 36 years old. SW 195 CW 179 GW 160 ... then re-evaluate my goal My weight loss has been sloooow but I feel like I'm making lifestyle changes that I can stick to, so I will eventually get to where I want to be. :) Feel free to add me!
  • If I'm craving something like candy or fast food, I try to get in an extra workout to burn the calories. I also reward myself with something non-food related when I successfully pass on something "bad" for me. For example, if I have a really good week calorie-wise, I might buy a new shirt that I wanted or makeup that I…
  • I also fell off the wagon over Memorial Day weekend, although it was mostly planned. I gave myself a "pass" because I went to the Indy 500, and I ended up eating poorly and drinking a lot over 2 days. I am kicking myself now because I gained 2lbs and haven't been able to get an ounce off in the past week. But, I'm back on…
  • I eat out quite a bit when life is busy and prefer restaurants that offer fresh food vs traditional fast food like McD's. Some of my favorite places are Qdoba, Moe's, Panera, Chick-fil-a and Jimmy John's (swap bread for lettuce wrap!). If I'm really in a pinch, I order from the fresco menu at Taco Bell. I've done some…
  • I'm female and my stats are different, of course, but I ran into a similar issue. I was losing at a consistent rate and then it slowed down. Took me 3 weeks to lose .5lbs and that went on for about 6 weeks. I talked with a health coach at work and she said I wasn't eating enough (I was eating 1200 calories a day, the…
  • I tried the whole foods/clean eating thing last fall and I couldn't handle the restrictions. I've found that eating whatever I want in moderation works best for me, but there are some foods I stay away from the majority of the time because I tend to binge on them ... like chips and dip. Planning what I'm going to eat and…
  • I was losing consistently on Weight Watchers and when I initially started on MFP but then I thought if I ate even less (just 1200 cal/day), I would lose even more. Wrong! I started working w/ a health coach at work and she said I wasn't eating enough so my body wasn't going to let go of the weight (in so many words). I…
  • Maybe try to organize a group of like-minded co-workers to do a fitness/healthy eating challenge, or talk to management about allowing longer breaks to get some walking in, even if it's just inside the building. I think it would be hard for them to say no from an employee health standpoint but who knows. My company offers…
  • I think weight loss is different for everyone, but I personally do this - "bank" calories, typically for Saturdays, which is also my weigh-in day. It works for me. I also did this when I was losing on Weight Watchers and saved my "weekly points" for the weekend most of the time. It doesn't derail my loss nor do I feel it…
  • I recommend talking with a professional as well. I recently started a health coaching program through work with a dietician - if I complete it, the company pays me $100! After I gave her some background, she told me that 1200 cal/day is not enough (for me), and that my body has most likely adjusted and my metabolism has…
  • I've never had experience with Rx weight loss drugs but I have tried OTC stuff here and there over time. None of that worked and I was looking for a "quick fix". There was a point when I asked my doctor for something and she refused. It took awhile for me to learn that eating at a calorie deficit and exercising are what…
  • I log in every day and try to stay positive. Feel free to add me! You can do this!
  • I subscribe to Daily Burn and I love it! I do all of my workouts at home and there are lots of options to choose from, depending on your mood or what you want to accomplish. YouTube has some good (and not so good) videos as well.
  • Ahhh, my area of expertise! :) I like to mix vodka with diet soda. One of my favorites is a "Moscow Mule" with diet ginger ale, vodka and a splash of lime. One ounce of Grey Goose is 69 calories. My other go-to is Corona Light for 99 calories. I try to get in a really kick-*kitten* workout on the day I'm going to drink so…
  • I eat a lot of raw veggies because they are easy and I hate cooking. :) I make a ranch dip with reduced fat sour cream and a Hidden Valley ranch packet to dip them in - just be sure to measure your portion of the dip! Very good. I also love cucumbers and salsa together. Another favorite is to take a variety of raw veggies…
  • I'm eating around 1,200 a day. Feel free to add me. Always looking to connect w/ people and motivate one another!
  • Great job! I need some inspiration today so I'm browsing the success stories and I love seeing progress like this from others. Congrats!!
  • Awesome! Keep it up!
  • I try to keep foods I would binge on out of the house. I truly love food and eating something that tastes good (and generally isn't good for me - ice cream, candy, pizza, nachos) just makes me happy. I also eat too much when I'm stressed or upset. I've had to find other activities that I enjoy so that I have things to look…
  • I'm in the same boat, only I'm entering into Week 3 without a loss. I have about 6lbs to reach my original goal, then another 6-10lbs to get where I *thought* I might be able to get before summer after having some success but my losses have slowed way down now. I'm going to keep at it, though, because I know that loss will…
  • I drink water or coffee at work to avoid buying candy at the convenience store downstairs. Fighting the urge right now, actually. At home, I keep busy and just go to bed early if I'm hungry. Or, I get some extra exercise calories in and have a snack. Good luck!
