I started out on the elliptical and then tried couch to 5k on the treadmill for awhile. I wound up having hip and knee pain on my right side after a few weeks so after taking a few days off I switched back to the elliptical primarily for my cardio. I do one with where I can change the incline along with the resistance and…

I've heard a lot of people recommend strong lifts but I like doing a variety of lifts. It gives me more options depending on how much equipment is in use at the gym. I am also not quite to the point of using the Olympic barbell for a lot of stuff (namely anything that has to go over my head).

That is exactly how mine felt the day after. Definitely take it easy on it for a day or two and then ease back into things. Give it plenty of time before you start running again (if you choose to start back). you will feel it for awhile but you dont have to be completely inactive while it heals.

I started going last summer largely to have a break from my kids. I'm a SAHM and was feeling depressed and gaining weight like crazy. I joined the gym to have some time to myself and hopefully lose weight. I started out just working out (mostly cardio and circuits on the weight machines) and not enjoying it. Then gradually…

This happened to me earlier in the summer doing sprints in boot camp. I was jogging fine but as soon as I tried to sprint I felt a pop! in my calf and it hurt. I could walk on it though and was able to finish my class (with modifications) so it wasn't a huge tear. I did a lot of stretching and I did rest it for a few days…

I looked at my local library and they have the NROF for Women but not Strong Curves so I guess I'll check it out first and see if I like it.

1.What was the turning point for you? It's ok if it was a series of events My weight suddenly jumped 10lbs in a month. It freaked me out that I was closer to 300lbs than 200 and I got depressed. I made an appointment with my GP but he wouldn't be able to see me for a few months. So I joined a gym to see if that would help…

I think it's possible. At least that's what my own scans have shown. My dr uses the inbody body composition analyzer and between my first scan and my second it did show about a 1lb gain in skeletal muscle mass while I had lost about 4lbs. I assume the scan is somewhat accurate if it's in a doctor's office who specializes…

I'm not a fit person but I aspire to be one day! Most of the time I'm desperately trying to make sure I don't start singing along to Hamilton out loud while I work out. I do notice a couple of super fit chicks working out and I admire them and wish I had their strength. I also wonder if they would think I was a total…

You are an inspiration and this is one of the best posts I've read since joining! I hope I can write a story similar to yours.

My "diet" is pretty much just reducing the amount of processed carbs I had been eating. I'm not sweating carbs in veggies or fruit but I cut back on bread, pasta, rice and sweets. And I'm not even doing keto so it hasn't been a dramatic change.

Sleep has been slightly better as my 1.5 year old has started sleeping all night (finally!). I have been feel stressed lately but for no particular reason. I wasn't tracking food before but I'd say I'm probably consuming quite a bit fewer calories and significantly fewer carbs (looking at way older entries on here I was…
