  • Well when you put it like that haha. No I usually just have him next to me to form check, but it helps having him there to block the prying eyes heehee. I'm going to do the cable pull throughs next time, let the awkwardness commence!
  • I dunno, hip thrusts are awkward as hell in a packed gym! You're all spread eagle for all the eyes to gaze upon haha. I usually get my man to stand in front of me so I don't feel so on "display" for everyone lol!
  • Summer 2012 and Nov 2015 Keep up the great work everyone!
  • You might benefit from an upper/lower body split. This way of lifting gives you time in between working certain muscles before you go at it again the next time. As stated above, you need to rest your muscles! Muscle growth DOES NOT occur in the gym, it happens during your rest when the muscles are repairing themselves. ;)
  • As stated above: squats, deadlift, leg extension. Also keep in mind that you shouldn't have a muscle imbalance, meaning don't forget to work your hamstrings too! Good luck!
  • This is coming from a person who seriously struggles with the eating side of getting fit and lean :D The kitchen is what makes or breaks significant weight loss. You can elliptical yourself into oblivion and you still won't see the same results as you would if you tracked your macros -which is a lot easier than it looks-.…
  • First things first, you should ideally be able to lose a lbs a week; any more than that and you're loosing too fast. So right away seeing that your goal weight is almost 40lbs and you're trying to do it by June it's not very feasible unless you lose too much weight too fast. Start eating in a calories deficit, your…
  • Sounds like I'm already doing all the booty work you guys suggested! What kind of weight and rep work are you doing to gain the mass there? I suffer from chronic white girl *kitten*, and it's something I've always struggled building up. Congrats on all the great butt work everyone!!
  • Mmm deadlifts, always so good!
  • Hip thrusts all the way! But deadlift comes in a close second for me.
  • Today was a big leg day. From squats to good mornings, I did miss deadlift today however. My all time favorite lift from lower body day is hip thrusts, I'm working with 115lbs and really focusing on driving through the heel and being nice and controlled all the way through. Keep up the good work fit fam!
  • I have to agree with Jesse above, sounds like too much weight. Drop it down a wee bit, there is no shame in lighter weight. I always say don't lift with your ego, stay within your means. If you can only squat with a Dowling rod then start there! We all start at different stages in our lives, some may be able to start with…
