Thanks all - I ended up buying the Balega brand socks. A couple of runs later, I couldn't be happier and I think my search is over. Thanks for your input.

Don't forget that you can repeat a day or a week if you think you need it. You also did more in those 28 minutes at 4.5 mph than people sitting on their couch. Keep it up! Maybe do the 28 minute workout and add another 10 to 15 minutes of walking (AFTER the C25K is done) at a fast pace for your cool-down? I used C25k off…

I cycle, swim, and run for endurance. I don't lift weights at all due to past injuries/surgeries. I have a bottle of creatine that I use whenever I want a glass of lumpy chocolate milk. It usually expires before I use 1/2 of it. I doubt I buy it again. It does nothing for me that I can tell.

I hear you OP...but every time I have a snarky attitude prior to a workout, I know for a fact that I am always glad to have worked out after it is completed. And magically, that snarky attitude is gone as well.

Every morning right after you-know-what and right before stepping into the shower

I am in maintenance and currently training for a Sprint Triathlon that happens in 23 days. My goal is to NOT come in dead *kitten* last haha

I lost 80 pounds and have to stay on my BP meds...my wife lost 20 pounds (and ultimately 65) and she no longer has to take BP meds. I hope you have the same experience as my wife. As for burpees and such...I have had the pleasure of having 3 hernia surgeries so I no longer do anything with jumping, lifting heavy, etc. But…

I suppose I fast between every meal and ultimately lost 80 pounds in 18 months, but... I also ran a calorie deficit and worked out regularly

Thanks all...heading to the store at lunch today

I am participating in my first ever Sprint Triathlon on July 23 - Signing up was easy - my goal is to finish and not be dead 'kitten' last.

For the first time, I caught up to and passed 2 other runners while running. Eat my dust :-)
-
ditto above. I run, cycle and swim (training for Sprint Triathlon) ... and swimming, although it is a good total body workout, burns the fewest calories per hour of the 3.

They have a ton of free videos...try them. They make money from the ads so the guilt factor of using their videos for free is gone completely :-)

We need some more inspirational pics ...

I saw @BowlingForHollars reply and forgot what I was going to say

MFP lets you name your meals - or set up blocks of time^^^ like @BowlingForHollars said. Although I work days I have morning, mid-morning, lunch, mid afternoon, supper, and late night categories.

Down After I hit goal (75 pounds down in 18-months)...my body shape slowly changed to where I was not happy with it. This took maybe 6-9 months for the aha moment to occur. Dropping 5 more pounds worked.

2-3 pounds for normal stuff...more if I eat a ton of salty stuff

I lost count... One

I cycle and swim a ton...so I thought - how hard can running be? After all I was in very good shape already. So I entered a 5k without ever having run one, or run at all. My first 5k was horrible - not because of my time of 44 minutes - but because I hurt for 3 days after - going up and down stairs was the worst haha. A…

[quote=" How do you guys determine what even is the goal? The mirror/scales/BMI ('normal weight' is still a wide range)/dress size? I'm so close I've started to panic about 'what then?will that be enough?' [/quote] @gymprincess1234 Get to your goal and then, after a few weeks, I am sure you will have a new mini-goal. Good…

I was nervous as the dickens when my XXXL self went to the gym for the first time. Looking back on it, I wish I would have asked a friend to go with me the first time just to show me some machines and free-weight techniques. Regardless, by the end of my first visit I realized nobody cared that I was there anymore than I…

Damn - late again. Missed out on the group hug.

I was searching for a goal...something to put a little more direction into my workouts...so, in a weaker moment, I signed up for my first ever Sprint Triathlon (1/2 mile swim, 15 miles cycling, & a 5k run). I ran an 'unofficial' practice Sprint-Tri two weeks ago and did not come in DFL (Dead-*kitten*-Last) but I was…

I am a cyclist. I recently added running and swimming and cut back on cycling to mix it up. After cycling as much as I did, I thought running would be a cinch. WRONG! I needed a walker for 3 days after trying to run a 5k with no training haha. Completely different muscles. Same with swimming.

My weight has not changed for months - rock steady in the 172-175 pound maintenance range. I started training for a Sprint-Triathlon. Instead of just cycling, I have added swimming (once per week) and running (2 to 3 times a week) and cut back on cycling to 1 or 2 times per week - 4 or 5 workouts per week is my goal.…
