  • Yes x 3, nice long walk with a friend was my exercise. Good point about the measurements Rick - I’m doing mine monthly and they’re down, even though my weight’s not moved so much this month.
  • That is incredible! Thank you for sharing. Good luck with the next stage.
  • Yes x 3 - exercise was a super long walk back from dropping my car at the the garage, and also th last of week 1 in couch to 5k. Scared myself a bit finding out how easy it is to eat back all the exercise calories though, need to be a bit more mindful today.
  • I’m still here with the sameness holiday goals - log everything, stay in the green, get to bed on time. I sort of met my goals yesterday but it wasn’t great. I had a super long walk back from dropping my car at the garage, but discovered how scarily easy it is to eat back all those extra calories I’d earned. I’ll try to be…
  • Hi @ZizzyBumble, I’m in Scotland too! Welcome back! I’m sorry it sounds like you’re torn between two places right now. And congrats @merope2 on your weight loss, it’s been nice to see another newbie on here, starting out with the logging. I think I’m also pretty much back to where I was pre-lockdown, but there’s still some…
  • 3 x yes for me - had a long cycle ride to a nice island (with crossing) near the city, then a shorter walk again later. Feel quite happy for getting in exercise on a day with frequent heavy rain, luckily mostly avoided!
  • Three yesses from me! Long cycle ride for my exercise.
  • Yes x 3, with a wet evening walk for my exercise. Struggled a bit with eating because I was tired and just wanted to snack all day, but I just managed to stay under my goal, so that’s a win. Trying for early nights (and no evening screen time) at the moment, so think I’ll be checking in the morning after if that’s ok.
  • I’m on holiday (at home!) for a week, I may not post so often, but my daily aims are still the same - log everything, stay in the green, try to get to bed early. I’m hoping I might see my weight go down when I’m not just sitting down at a computer all day...
  • I managed to log everything and was (just) within my calories yesterday, but didn’t manage to get to bed on time and couldn’t sleep for ages. I’m on holiday (at home!) for a week after today so sleep will be my priority! JFT (Friday): log everything, stay in the green, bed by 10.15.
  • I didn’t do well in lockdown initially, but this last month I’ve began to get things under control. This is the first time I’ve committed properly to calorie counting which is so much easier when I can track and measure exactly what I’m eating, rather than just give up when I’m eating out or other people offer me food. In…
  • Hi! I'm Daisy from Scotland. June was my first month with the UAC and generally taking trying to be healthier a bit more seriously - so I saw some encouraging weight loss and I'm still feeling enthusiastic. However, I know from experience that I can easily lose interest, get distracted, make a few bad choices and go off…
  • Hi all, I met my goals yesterday but was too tired to exercise by the evening. Only on week 1 of Couch to 5k and already struggling! I’ll try harder today. Sticking to the same simple goals though: log everything, stay in the green, get to bed by 10.15. Hope you all have a good day.
  • I'm in Scotland too @dankas001 - it doesn't feel much like July does it? I managed all three goals today, with a cycle into/back from work, and calories just within target. Onwards and upwards!
  • So many people having tough times right now, I'm really sorry for what you're all going through and hope there's some light ahead soon. I like @mytime6630 's point that we can still (mostly) control our health, so I'm going to keep trying not to let 2020 derail me. I've managed to log everything (and stay within calories)…
  • And I managed three yesses again for the last day of June! Stayed within my calories (just), logged everything, and did some exercise - a socially distant walk with a friend who walks much faster than me, so felt like a workout! I think this is the longest I've managed to keep to consistent logging (almost a month) and the…
  • @TeaBea Thanks for the link. Those aren’t quite the same activity level options as we get in MFP, do you know if there’s any guidance on what sort of step counts they expect here for each level?
  • JFT Tuesday: log everything, stay in the green. @ZizzyBumble I’m so sorry to hear about your mum, I can’t imagine how sad that must be.
  • This is amazing, congratulations! It's great to hear about the goals you set yourself and then worked for. I'm really impressed by your discipline and glad to hear that it's helped with other aspects of life too. Hope you're feeling super proud of yourself. You've inspired me to think about my own goals and how I could…
  • Yes to all three. My exercise was starting the Couch to 5k programme! Ok, I've done it before, but I think I need to start easy and having a set routine definitely helps.
  • I’m so sorry to read about how many of you are having really tough times this year. I’m sending lots of virtual hugs and good wishes. I hope this is a good week for us all. JFT Monday: log everything, stay within calories.
  • Yes to all three today - I managed a hill walk and a cycle ride today. Covid-19 is helping my goals today - I cycled out to see my parents because I couldn't accept a lift in their car, and I brought my own snacks (calorie-counted!) to make me feel better at having to pass on my dad's birthday cake. Saying no to treats is…
  • Hahaha, congratulations! Now I know what I need to aim for.
  • I agree with a lot of what's been written above by @hipari, @Shortgirlrunning and others. And it sounds like you're starting to address the role alcohol has in your life and think about cutting down. It'd be great if you can manage this using some of the many sources of non-professional support/inspiration out there, but…
  • Sounds like you’re going through a really tough time Vanessa, I hope you have a lot of support around you. I think I’ve been using my weight as an excuse to put off addressing other issues in my life, telling myself I’ll deal with the weight first and sort everything else out once I get down to my goal. So in some ways…
  • Three yesses from me - a long and rainy walk with a friend was my exercise today. @dsgoingtodoit - please go to a doctor! (Hugs)
  • Happy birthday @Chinkiri ! Three yesses for me today, cycled to work and kept within my calorie limit. I started the month late, but I haven't passed for any day yet!
  • That’s incredible! Congratulations.
  • Hot day here today as well. I went for a long walk and ate back most of my exercise calories (all logged). So I'm still at deficit overall according to MFP.
  • JFT (Thursday): log everything, stay under goal. @Snowflake1968 I am so sorry to hear about your cousin’s son. I can’t imagine how devastating that must be for the family. I can sympathise on the COVID swabbing though - I’m in one of the vaccine trials and have to do and send my own swabs once a week, it’s not nice!
