  • I got sick of chest straps. Love my Garmin Vivosmart HR.
  • I swear by Garmin but my husband would never give up his Fitbit. He wants simplicity, while I want heart rate, GPS, text notifications, and all the other bells and whistles. They both solid choices. It just depends on your wants and budget. I got a nice discount on my Garmin via a Dicks coupon I found on retailmenot.
  • You can definitely escape the pain. A night boot and exercises from my doctor helped a lot, but it was finding the right shoes that made a 100 percent difference. I tried Oofos sandals and they were the turning point for me. They're all I wear unless I absolutely have to wear real shoes. I even wear them for my exercise…
  • Glad to see someone else pop in, especially another Mystic. I'm level 33 now and still walking my feet off catching 'me all.
  • At this point my basic fitness is good thanks to all the walking I've been doing since August (6 tom10 miles per day in the weekend and 2 to 5 during the week). My flexibility is non-existent and I desperately need toning so I'm hoping the programs can help with that. Jillian would kick my butt these days but I like that…
  • Hello all! I didn't make any specific resolutions this year, but Pokémon Go got me into walking last summer (I was previously working on C25K but got sidelined by a foot injury and job change), so now I'm expanding that into virtual walks/runs. I'm currently in a 200 mile challenge and completed a 12Ks of Christmas…
  • For those who signed up, did they try to hit you with a big upsell? I want to order it but don't want to deal with a process where I have to decline 20 other items and auto ships.
  • I have one for spots with multiple Pokestops where I know nothing good spawns. I can crank a ton of balls and pidgey and rat stardust with it. I hate that it doesn't work while driving anymore though since it's not at all distracting.
  • I think it's fine because it gives motivation for working out and turns something dull into fun. Years ago I loved Walk It Out for Wii but eventually it got boring because they never added any extensions. Pokemon Go appeals to me in the same way, and it's gotten my fat butt moving again. I've evolved six Gyrados because I…
  • I just got a Pokemon Go Plus a couple of days ago, so now it's even easier to fit into my daily routine. I go walking at lunchtime in various spots around the neighborhood with a good number of Pokestops and don't have to worry about staring into my phone or the quickly draining battery.
  • Mystic Level 27 here. Very close to 28, but I don't really want to level up because the captures just get harder and harder. The Plus seems to have about the same overall capture rate as doing it manually.
  • I leveled up to 27 tonight, but I can't say I'm all that happy about it. Captures get so much harder every time your level increases. I miss the old days when things didn't break out of my Pokeballs half a dozen times, only to run away.
  • Rattatas must love cats. I caught one sitting with my cat too.
  • I was in my first flash mob yesterday running four blocks to catch a Snorlax. There's an area here where tons of people gather to play every weekend, and those with trackers alert everyone when something good is nearby. I caught a lovely one at 2267, and we stopped on the way home to drop him in a gym in a seedy strip mall…
  • I'm buddying around with one of my Snorlaxes, as I have three others that I want to beef up.
  • I'm from the Orlando area, and I'm Mystic all the way. All three teams have a good presence here, which means great opportunities every day to take over the local gyms.
  • Most definitely my daily exercise now. I walk every day at lunchtime in one of the two nearby areas packed with Pokestops. Since I live in Orlando, I head over to Disney Springs, one of the theme parks, or the fertile hunting ground in Kissimmee by the lake every weekend. After a little over a month of playing I'm almost…
  • And here are two of today's finds. I got the first one by participating in my first-ever Pokemon Go spontaneous flash mob (hence his name), running with a hoard of people four blocks to find him. While driving home, my husband and I stopped at a strip mall gym to drop him off and found the other in the parking lot. If you…
  • Hello all. I see I'm late to the party, so I hope you won't mind me popping onto the thread. I'm a middle-aged Pokemon Go player (level 26, go Team Mystic!) and have lost several pounds as a happy side effect. I was surprised to read that some of you can't find Magikarp. I live near several spawning spots, so here are my…
  • Just added all of you. My name there is the same as here.
  • I feel for you as I'm in the same situation. Your doctor can provide the best guidance, but mine told me to take an Omega 3 supplement, exercise to lose some weight, and to cut back on carbs and to not eat them at all in the evening.
  • I agree with the rice skippers. I'd rather just have the fish and veggies (or just the fish; raw tuna, yum!).

  • I reward myself with massages or hot stone pedicures. Something to look forward to, and they relieve stress as well.
  • Not only do they sell their services, but they also sell "certification" so you can pay them to sell those services too. The infographic reminds me of infomercials that desperately try to create a need where none exists.
  • Sigh. I can't help but laugh at Oatmeal. Seriously, though, there was a huge push in the 1980s to convince Americans to eat horsemeat. It's commonly consumed in Japan, Belgium, France, and parts of Canada, but even with big marketing bucks, Americans just couldn't get on board with eating Secretariat, Silver, and Trigger,…
  • In general I would say no, unless your doctor recommends it. My blood work showed that I was vitamin D deficient, so my doc recommended a supplement and told me the specific type and dosage to get. I don't think a multivitamin benefits the average person getting good nutrition.
  • Very strange claim. Not something I would ever buy. I'm a fan of regular green tea (iced) and a variety of regular and herbal hot and iced teas. I like the ones that are sold through regular means, not with crazy claims! Glad you got it free.
  • Gorgeous! Looks great for 29.
  • I'm another one who splits up my walking sessions throughout the day. That works best for my schedule, and my dog loves it. I have a Garmin Vivosmart to give me "move" reminders and let me know when the small sessions have added up to my goal.
  • My mother taught me all I need to know about diet pills. I grew up in the 1960/70s when doctors handed out heavy duty speed like candy for weight loss. She got addicted to the speed (and, later, to downers to offset the effects), stayed at 300+ pounds, and died young of heart problems. Yeah, this ain't the '60s/'70s…
