  • It makes it easier if you guestimate what horrible number you will see afterwards - then you can focus on a game plan to bring you back on track. You can do it!
  • I just want to add one more note - Thanks creating this group. I really enjoy it. When I started using MFP, I wasn't planning to use the community boards or add friends. I just enjoyed using the phone app to track my calories and nutrition tools. But, it's so much different than I expected - I love the support everyone…
  • I'm sorry to see you leave :( But I hope you reconsider - I didn't honestly think I was going to be able to make it, either - Originally, at my rate, I was on schedule to hit *55* by October 1st - but I figured *maybe* I can do this. Now, it looks like I might make it by the first week of September - and maybe the 1st.…
  • Oh -- and just try to ignore the overly-concerned/controlling behavior from them -- they seem somewhat unfamiliar or unsure how to treat the *new you*. Someone losing weight on such an impressive scale is a little hard for them right now -- They only know how to view your changes as "sick" or "incapable". They may have…
  • It sounds like they are behaving this way to satisfy themselves - instead of just being happy for you or expressing any appreciation for what you've been through. You're an adult and it's time they stopped ignoring your feelings or treating you like a child. On the flipside - It's understandable that they are having…
  • SW: 192 CW: 169 GW: 129 Happy Friday everyone
  • I recently started enjoying the Bolthouse brand selection of salad dressings. They are yogurt based and have a really wide range of flavors. I haven't found one that I don't like yet. My favorite used to be Hidden Valley Ranch - but I probably might not go back until I can afford the calories.
  • I recently started enjoying Cheerios - with a little bit of honey drizzled and a little granola added. I grew up hating Cheerios -- with a passion (I couldn't even stand the smell of them) -- So I'm very, very surprised by my sudden ability to like them. Hubby got me started on them (the multi-grain version) -- and now I'm…
  • Oh sorry - I just added my info - I'll stick with posting my updates here
  • If you have a Costco membership, I highly recommend their green tea (I think it's the Kirkland brand). It's a very high quality green tea - Very good tasting and relaxing. It's also very fast to make -- 30 seconds @ 180 degrees. I like mine with ice cubes after brewing it. I just found a link for some on Amazon - So no…
  • I was a secretary for a long time and that is exactly how I gained my weight - and with all the food people bring into the office (!!). It only brought out the foodie in me. I went from a size 5 to a size 16 in almost no time.
  • Second hand stores (and yard sales) are definitely a good way to start shopping for new clothes. It's so much cheaper -- and it's so important to feel / look good in your "new-to-you" clothes!
  • I've lost 20 lbs but I'm still roughly the same size. My pants are a bit looser in places -- but I'm so thankful they aren't as uncomfortably tight as when I finally started to lose weight. I literally had no more jeans to wear - Only one pair fit. Now, almost all of my old jeans fit again. So, that's a relief. I'm…
  • This week I'm feeling pretty awesome. Recently, I tried on a forgotten pair of jeans in my closet that were once impossible to to snap shut -- and now I'm literally able to scrunch up the sides. They're almost too big to wear now. I was floored. I have a pretty long way to go - but, wow, that was such a great moment.
  • My fitness goals: Get my old physique back (hit my target goal weight, tone up and maintain) Get my health issues under control (cholesterol, pre-osteoporosis, and colon) (eat more fiber, less sodium, stick with organics) For most of my life I was very fit and extremely active. When I hit my 40's, my metabolism changed and…
  • Green tea works like magic for me. Calms my digestion and relaxes me
  • SW 192 GW 129 CW 170 Great week. Getting over cravings. Getting good results from step aerobics - gives me more energy and I sweat like crazy from it.

  • SW end of Feb: 192 GW: 129 CW: 170 Getting past old cravings. Can't believe I've hit the "20 lbs lost" mark. I'm now one third of the way there - !?!! Very motivated to challenge myself a little more.
  • SW 192 GW 129 CW 173 I'm really getting into stair stepping aerobics. That seems to work really well for me lately
  • Hey everyone Don't forget to weigh in! (Click on the star to "favorite" this group & stay current)
  • SW 192 GW 129 CW 173 Really getting into stair stepping aerobics. It's fun and burns a ton of calories. Just using a DVD... No classes
  • Homemade frozen banana ice cream Super easy to make - and it tastes just like a fancy Italian gelato. I saw Rachel Ray make it once a few years ago and finally tried making it myself. Super easy and you only need some old bananas. You can make it in a blender or food processor. Link…
  • My newest snack (invention) is gonna sound strange - but now my hubby loves it, too, and he always asks for one if he sees me having one. A warmed small flour tortilla with chipotle flavored cholula or tabasco sauce on it (just a tiny amount) It's a great tasting snack that's filling - and an awesome way to…
  • SW 192 CW 175 GW 129 I'd like to join. I've been working out and dieting since the end of February. If everything goes according to plan, I should hit my BMI by mid-June in time for summer. (My final goal weight isn't until the fall - and from that point I will commit myself to maintenance) So, I think this would be a good…
  • Cereal with lowfat milk - preferably a sweet kids cereal
  • I'm back on track SW 192 CW 175 GW 129 Got my cravings under control with some creative new snacks ... and I discovered hot sauces are an excellent way to increase your water intake ;-) (A cooked soft tortilla with chipotle cholula hot sauce / tobasco... even my hubby loves it)
  • SW 192 CW 175 GW 129 Finally back on track. Cravings are killing me, but I am discovering good alternative foods (fruits, nuts) - and my new favorite snack: a cooked soft tortilla with hot sauce -- It's great for boosting my water consumption, too ;-)
  • April lst (late) SW: 192 CW: 179 GW: 129 Struggles/Successes I ended up eating a slightly more caloric set of meals this week. But I was ahead on my weight loss, so that created a small "cheat zone". It's done and I'm back. I'm so glad I use this app. It helps me focus.
  • Drink lots of water - and a glass of milk (or whatever your system will tolerate - help fill you up) with your meal. Eat breakfast, and fruits in between - so you don't go hungry.
