There really are no hard and fast rules. You have to go by how your body is responding. Do you use a more scientific approach where you accept certain outcomes of not being successful as part of an experiment? Then learn from your failure? I would like to learn more about your "rational" approach.

Yeah I have to say from my experience that I count how many almonds that I eat for a snack. Sounds a bit crazy I know but they do pack on the calories. However, I do eat almond spread for break fast and 12 almonds with an apple for mid morning break. I think those type of healthy fats are really important.
