  • Hi all. I hope this thread is still active. I can't really tell. But I just started Wegovy now that I'm able to do things again. I had hip surgery right after last Thanksgiving. SW 192 CW 189 GW 150 I get so bored doing cardio, but I'm trying to get better on the (new since surgery) bike a few times a week with working up…
  • I would be wondering why you are retaining water. Have you spoken to a doc about it? How is your sodium intake? Are you on medications that may cause this? How do you know it's water weight? How much water are you drinking (absurdly the more water you drink the less you generally retain, strange, I know)? How much time are…
  • He insists that 25 reps is what needs to be done. When I'm at home I use more than double the weight he has listed and do around 12 reps and that seems to make me feel like I've actually done something. But the thing I worry about at home is whether my form is okay. [/quote] Go to a thrift store and buy a big mirror and…
  • I wish I knew. Do you eat eggs and milk products or no animal products at all? My Mom is a pescatarian (I have no idea if the spelling is right on that) and she used kefir to help her get her protein when she was in her first year after gastric bypass. But it wasn't just a drink. She also used the curdy part and made some…
  • I would love for people to add me! I can use all the help I can get while I'm getting back into this. I've been out of the way of much movement and put on more pounds than I would like as I have battled a back/SI joint issue for the last two years. Finally gave up on fixing it and got off the pain pills and my PC has me on…
  • Boo! Sometimes you can find venison in the store or at a butcher. Also try calling any meat processors in your area (this is where hunters take their kills) and see if they have anything. As for fish, look for stuff that is wild caught. It's much better and has less weird chemicals in it.
  • Here is one of the recipes I use. It's not completely clean, but it's close with lots of veggies. For the canned tomatoes I try to get organic with less preservatives. Chicken Veggie Soup A bastardized version of Copycat Olive Garden Minestrone Soup CATEGORIES soup, chicken, veggies, sick food, cold day INGREDIENTS 3 tblsp…
  • From what I understand, it's more fresh foods in cooking, less (or no) processed foods. I use fresh veggies in my cooking. Fresh fruits and veggies for snacks. Nuts, or dried fruits for snacking. The choices are pretty much unlimited. Use your imagination. Don't buy a taco kit when when you can season with regular spices…
  • My Mom also used to get a lot of her protein from Kefur. Higher protein, smaller amounts. I'm not sure where you get it. I think my Mom got it in a health food store and then continued to grow her own cultures from that. But she's really good at stuff like that... me? I just killed three more things. Thank God it wasn't…
  • Any hunters in your family? I get a good amount of protein (without the fat) from venison. Also my husband is an avid fisherman so I've always at least got some king mackerel in my freezer.
  • I like the Smuckers natural honey peanut butter. But I rarely eat it. But definitely, whatever you get, get it natural. It's a lot less processed and less sugars even with the honey kind. It does have to be stirred up but I'll take stirring my peanut butter over the sugars and processed garbage any day. Besides, sometimes…
  • Ready to start food prepping here. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. I have found some ideas on a blog site of "Organize Yourself Skinny" that I plan to try.
