  • I'm out of town for a few days and won't be able to weigh in tomorrow, so I'm gonna use this morning's weight and do this now. SW: 250.5 GW: 195.5 (for this challenge) March 20th: 250.5 March 31st: 246.5 April 30th: 234 May 31st: 223 June 17th: 216.5 June 24th: 216.5 July 1st: 212 July 7th: 210.5 40lbs down, 15 to go on…
  • Thanks! I'll keep at it. Definately better than I was, but I've got more to lose yet :)
in 40lbs down! Comment by rickc74 July 2016
  • Whoops, just noticed I messed up my starting weight. It was actually 250.5.
  • Way to stay focused and determined. Your mind is in the right place, you'll hit 219.
  • I'm lucky that I get in probably close to 7000 steps at work on an average day. Most days, I'll either get to the gym and spend about 30 minutes on the treadmill and or elliptical, or walk for anywhere from 2-6km. It keeps me from getting restless, and obviously helps with the fat loss as well.
  • That's wicked, I'm REALLY glad you bounced back this week after your weekend. Good for you!
  • SW: 222 CW: 212 GW: 195.5 for this challenge Solid 10lbs down this month, I'll take it :)
  • I have been enjoying listening to fat loss podcasts. Specifically, I've listened to almost all of the episodes of the Cut the Fat podcast. Some of the stuff in it seems a bit weird, or like it's not for me, but I've taken some good tips from it that seem to work well. And, I enjoy the banter between the two hosts. I've…
  • Added myself to the sheet. I had problems doing it on my phone, no issues on the laptop :)
  • Good week, nice job!
  • Haha, that's how I felt when I hopped on the scale for the first time in a couple years at the start of this journey :P Good work!
  • SW: 250.5 GW: 195.5 (for this challenge) March 20th: 250.5 March 31st: 246.5 April 30th: 234 May 31st: 223 June 17th: 216.5 June 24th: 216.5 July 1st: 212 38.5 down, 16.5 to go :) As I expected, I bounced back from a slow week last week. 4.5lbs is a bigger drop than I would expect to or really want to make in a regular…
  • Thanks. It definately is. I think trying to quit everything cold turkey would be impossible and lead to failing. I've cut back, and, the more progress I make, the more I want to eat healthy foods, and less treats. Usually...
  • Congrats! Great work.
  • That's awesome, I'm glad it's balancing back out so quick! Again, you're doing really well at this. A bad day here and there won't ruin everything. I find the days that my weight goes up a bit to be a real good motivator to get back on track, because I know the plan works. That said, most days I have some kind of treat - a…
  • I would expect that a lot of the weight gain is sodium causing water retention. The general consensus seems to be that a pound works out to about 3500 calories. I find it tough to believe you ate an extra 14000 calories over the weekend. A lot of extra sodium is pretty believable, though. Cut that down, and you'll most…
  • Should be doable. Google tells me 2 stone is 28 pounds. Depending on exactly when in October the wedding is, you have about weeks. Conensus seems to be to shoot for 2lbs a week max. That is 26lbs, pretty much 2 stone. I've lost 33lbs in the last 3 months, so you should be fine with a lot of focus and hard work :)
  • We all have some days that are tougher than others. One bad day won't hurt everything. It's great that you are refocusing right away and writing off the week or anything like that. Good stuff!
  • Thanks :). You'll get there, too. We've been running a pretty similar pace on a similar journey, for the most part.
  • Wah. My first quote actually lost what I was trying to reply to: urloved33 wrote: » some calories are more packed with nutrition than others. so some cals are healthier cals....my body always reflects the diff. if I eat junk my skin Is dull and I bloat etc etc. Which ndj1979 replied to. Then I apparently confused myself. I…
  • Pretty much what I thought. :)
  • Right. I'm with you. But we can get our fill of those units of energy from foods that are good for us, or from foods that are bad for us. I can run a calorie deficit eating nothing but McNuggets, but I won't look or feel as good as I would if I hit the same deficit from healthier foods like lean meats and vegetables.…
  • Ndj1979 probably means that 500 calories of vegetables would be better for you than 500 calories of french fries, and have more nutritional value. Both would lead to losing weight if you eat them and maintain a deficit. Both would not be good for you, even with a calorie being a calorie. I'm the same way, i have been in a…
  • They can be, if you let them. Meal planning and food prep helps a lot. Most days, I have my breakfast planned the night before. While I eat that, I plan out the rest of my food for the day in a way that makes sure I hit my macros and gets my vitamins, fibre, iron needs, etc. I find it simpler if I have a plan for what I'll…
  • Thanks :). Down a pound this morning, so it should be a solid progress week
  • Lots of good progress everyone, good stuff!
  • Really good progress overall. I wouldn't sweat this week's number too mich, there are so many factors that cause little fluctuations. You've been super consistent, keep doing what you are doing and the results should be there.
  • SW: 250.5 GW: 195.5 (for this challenge) March 20th: 250.5 March 31st: 246.5 April 30th: 234 May 31st: 223 June 17th: 216.5 June 24th: 216.5 34lbs down, 21 to go :) No progress last week, but not too worried. I may have had a couple treats for Father's Day, and had to be out if town for work for a couple days, which made…
  • Another weird little victory I've had is tying my shoes, as silly as it sounds. I used to need to put a foot up on something, like stairs or a bench, to tie my shoes. Then I got comfortable getting down on the ground to do it and getting back up easily after dropping a few pounds. Now I just reach down and do it while…
  • Awesome! I've got some clothes I've been able to fit into again recently, so I know the feeling. Great work.
