Food scale and reevaluate your calorie goals based on your recent loss. Kudos!

Take a class on cooking. Search the internet for recipes. Try one new vegetable a week. I highly recommend stir frys. Cut up some onion, red peppers, and some asparagus in 1/2 tsp of olive oil. Once they start to turn translucent add 3 oz of cubed chicken. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder. Turn chicken pieces over and then…

I don't cheat (I live it and log it) but if I do eat more than usual, the next day I am always more hungry.

Live it and log it is my motto. You can't cheat life, so no cheat meals. If an eating event is coming up, I work during the week prior to bank calories so my weekly calorie goal is met. Eating anything I wanted got me where I am today -- 70+ pounds overweight.

When I have done eating like this, I log specifics the best I can remember and then quick add additional calories as a guesstimate. I log it all so I always have data and can average my calories for the week. No need for "cheating" -- it's just life.

If grandma's cooking is good, then eat up with a portion that fits your goals. You should only be restricting calories not foods. Actually, I just had spaghetti and meatballs for three days in a row -- all in keeping with my calorie goals. And it was delicious!

Popcorn is my favorite whole grain! :) Seriously. Make sure you increase your water intake when you increase your fiber or it can cause problems. Stay well hydrated! Fiber per se does not help with weight loss. I find that it does keep me full/satiated for longer so I don't get hungry between meals so much. Drinking lots…

They are a 15 calorie candy that is marketed to a weight loss niche. I'd go with the Starburst at 20 calories each and a WHOLE lot less expensive.

I have been dairy free for about a decade. (I have a milk protein allergy and am allergic to both casein and whey.) My advice is that during your test, you just avoid the alternatives. Not because they aren't good (because some of them are) but because you'll likely find them lacking that tang or "je ne sais quoi" that…

I love my late night snack! So I pre-log it when I log breakfast and fit the rest of the day in. (I do air-popped popcorn and spray olive oil on it.)

Walking. I just walk however fast or slow I feel like and walk as far as I feel like. I'm noticing I'm walking faster than I used to and really enjoying it. Walking farther, too. Just keep trying things to find what you like. And you don't have to be fast or finish it at the beginning.

Protein bar or boiled egg.

I use oil all the time but measure it carefully and use it sparingly. Love the flavor. I cook in cast iron, which it nicely nonstick.

I'm at 1200, and I start my day with a high fiber cereal. I try to eat vegetables with every meal and to meet my protein goals every day. I do the standard macros that MFP gave me. If you're starving all the time, even with a balanced diet, you need to bump up your calories and lose slower. That's not a lifestyle that you…

This. ^^^^ Because almond agriculture sucks water like crazy.

I have experienced exactly those symptoms and can attest that it is excruciating!!!! I have a dairy protein allergy (allergic both to casein and whey), and I would bet money that you are allergic to dairy. (Note that with dairy allergies, sometimes the body responds almost immediately and sometimes there will be a delay of…

We do a lot of sandwiches in the summer. I also love slow cooking batches of chicken or pork (whatever is on sale), pulling/chopping it and then everyone can pull out what they want for the next few days. Great for salads, quesadillas, rice bowls, and sandwiches.

Dilute it!!!!!

I am allergic to dairy (cassein and whey) and that is more than enough restriction in my life. PITA. Other than that medical restriction....I don't restrict anything. As long as I can fit it into my calorie goals that day (or weekly average), I fit it in. YOLO.

Kids meals pretty much anyplace are great for calorie counting. They are my go-to at Culver's and Arby's. At McDonalds, my go-to is the egg mcmuffin no cheese for 250 calories. The hash brown is just 150. Love the Turkey Tom at Jimmy Johns. At Applebee's, the Thai Shrimp Salad is OUTSTANDING at only 380 calories. (I get…

I love to eat out and love the variety and ease of eating out. So......while I've always enjoyed cooking, I'm pushing myself to cook more and to cook different things. No more cooking rut. And I've noticed that when I start craving to go out that I haven't tried a new recipe in a while.

Get back on! You can do it.

You can also see it under nutrition.

On the desktop you can. Go to settings.

Go to the USDA database and find the raw data and the cooked data. I have two different entries for bacon that I use. I use the raw grams when I weigh ahead and use the grease. I use the cooked grams when I weigh after cooking and just eat the bacon and pour off the grease. Same idea for ground beef.

I agree with the others. Log everything you eat and make notes about how you feel. You will have lots of data for the dietian to review when you see them. Also check into a diabetic diet plan. Losing weight will hopefully solve both the reflux and prediabetes. Good luck.

I love that you keep updating this thread. Awesome results from all your hard work!

The local bacon I get is more calories by the slice than commercial bacon probably because they don't slice it paper thin. So I use the USDA values and weigh the slices so I know exactly how much I am eating (each slice does vary by weight). Bacon is totally worth it...even if it's just half a slice some days. A wonderful,…
