Yes. You actually want to cook venison more on the rare/med-rare side as cooking it too long will turn it tough because of how lean it is.

As has been said, you'll lose weight. Your overall health will depend on what percentage of your diet is gummie bears and skittles, though.

Nuts, jerky, Greek yogurt, peanut butter and celery.
-
Greek yogurt. Just watch sugar content. Some can be ridiculously high.

I use Fitness Buddy. Has just about everything you're looking for.

I like to use the Fitness Buddy app to track my lifting progression and routines.

Exactly. Bulk smart and you'll put on minimal fat while gaining mass. There is an equilibrium to be found where you're eating the perfect surplus to do this. Bulking is a lot more than shoveling food into your mouth.

I love venison and will be getting back out into the woods this year for the first time in a long time. Honing my bow skills and hoping to get two to have meat for a good portion of the year.

@navdeeprana Feel free to add me.

1300 calories??? How tall/weight? I can't imagine that even being enough calories for your basic needs.

I've come up with a nice shake that I use to down some major calories/protein/fat in the morning. 1 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder 3 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter 1 tbsp almond oil Mix with water in a shaker bottle, enjoy. I add 6 tbsp pasteurized egg whites to mine, though. I use this shake if I have a very busy…

My entire regiment hits all muscle groups twice a week. Even two leg days. I love leg days.

Turkey. Loaded with protein and lean. Fat-free Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese. Eggs.

You have a steadydiet, though, that is part of your lifestyle. Diet can mean one of two things, either a sustained diet in your way of living or the more colloquial meaning of diet where people eat a certain way for a set length of time.
-
If I'm not eating right after the gym, I'll have a quick shake. Otherwise, I'm usually consuming some kind of meat afterwards so my protein requirements are met.

I'm currently eating a ketogenic diet (50g< carbs a day) just to try it. Been on it for a little over a month now and probably going to go one more month before I decide if I want to cycle carbs back in on weekends. So far, I like the diet. It's a little difficult if I go out with friends to eat, but other than that I'm…

What did you set your goal at and your lifestyle? I've got mine set at "very active" with a goal to maintain my weight. Right now, I'm eating 3,000 calories a day to start and eating back almost half of what MFP adds on after factoring in my calories burned/workouts. I've maintained my weight to a T. If you set your goal…

I go to the gym for me. I don't really care who else is there or about their bad form.

Almond milk is such a ridiculous waste in the first place.

The only thing that slims anything is eating at a deficit. Core exercises wil strengthen your core, but only losing the fat by eating at a deficit to burn it off will expose it.
-
@ 6'3", 212lbs, your body is probably burning around 1800 calories a day just to keep it going let alone for exercise. You need to eat more if you're trying to exercise, too. Especially if you're lifting.
-
Also, I eat less than 50g carbs a day.
-
Uh, no. Carbs are only your body's primary source of energy if you're eating carbs. If you're eating as little carbs as he is, your body goes into ketosis and your body will burn fats for energy instead. This kid has no energy because of his caloric intake, not because of a lack of carbs. I'm 5'10", 172lbs, and lift every…

I don't think OP means 0 sum on those, but very low. I could be wrong, but extremely low levels of both are attainable. I'm at 50g< carbs and 30g< sugar a day. Again, I could be wrong on what OP's goals are. If OP means truly zero of both, Ya, not gonna happen unless all they eat is meat.

How is it unrealistic?
-
That's a good attitude to have. You don't want to do deadlifts with poor form. The more weight you put on, the more critical form becomes to avoid injury and to work the correct muscles.
-
@whatatime2befit No, it doesn't. The body can burn fat for energy while in ketosis. I eat less than 60g of carbs a day. I work ten hour shifts then lift for an hour to two hours a day after that. No, it doesn't work for everyone, but your body can creat energy without carbs.
-
At the very least, one hour a night six days a week lifting. Two hours at the most. Sunday I reserve for a run or some body weight exercises at home.
-
Been on a keto diet for a month now. I lift hard every night and never have a problem with energy. But, this diet works differently with everyone.

Diet is a personal preference and it all depends on what works for YOU. I eat a low carb diet and I've experienced positives from it. Weight loss is not what I did it for as I lost the weight I wanted to eating a normal, health conscious diet. Since moving to a low carb diet (under 60g on average a day), I've had better…
