Thank you for the insight. Yes, it's crazy that no matter if I sleep 5-8 hours I'm exhausted no matter what. Glad to know others feel fatigue around the same time. Yes, I agree it is very "go go go" here in the US. Thanks for the tips :)

Agree, staying more active can help. Sitting definitely worsens it. I'm usually pretty active with my job but when I have mandatory meetings in the afternoon, I'm amazed at how people can sit through them and look alert. I also notice it happens close to when I'm due for my 2nd dose of thyroid hormone so it could be that…

I usually don't eat until 12-1:30 and this is after working out intensely in the morning for 45-50 minutes, fasted from 7 pm the night before. I wait as long as I can and used to fast until 4 or 5 pm and eat one meal to help keep hunger down. I don't fast as long now but find on days I don't eat until 3-4, I still…

Dxed hypothyroid in May 2015. Started levothyroxine (synthetic t4). T3 & T4 continued to plummet as did my energy. I was dieting and eating low carb and low fat. Started Armour (NDT T3+T4) in August and finally energy improved and weight started falling off while I kept up my routine of intense cardio 7 days a week and…

Following. The fit bit sucked at accuracy on the stairmaster. I would have to have one hand off and one hand on (on for balance not leaning) to track steps and if my wrists got sweaty it stopped tracking heart rate. It worked well for hiking, cycling but I would love something more accurate and better at constant accurate…

Thank you all. That makes complete sense. I'm losing, just a lot slower than I'd like....average 2 lbs a month but I'm lifting and doing intense cardio so it's hard for me to cut calories too low. Clothes are fitting better but I'm trying to fine tune where I may be making mistakes and the Panera was one. The second which…

This seems very low to lose 1 lb. 1000 deficit would be 2 lbs/week....500 kcal deficit = 1 lb week.

THYROID. I always have lost hair when losing weight. Every single time (yo-yo over the years). My calories were never below 1500, ate back exercise as well. However the overall deficit, along with undiagnosed hypothyroidism the first time, and I lost SO much hair. The second time I lost >20 lbs years later, I still was…

Hypothalamic amenorrhea is very common with weight loss. I went from a size 16 to a size 2 and lost my period at a size 4, running daily, strength training a few x a week ,eating around 1600-2200 calories a day. I had to gain a ton of weight back to get back my period. always dealt wit horrible sleep issues for the entire…

I lost a lot of weight years ago and would get very dizzy upon standing. is that what happens with you? if so, it is orthostatic hypotension, which is a common side effect in a calorie deficit. if you're just dizzy and light headed after standing awhile, see a doctor.

Get your thyroid free t3 levels checked. also levothyroxine is only t4. you may have a problem like i do of converting the t4 to t3. t3 is what actually is effective in your thyroid running optimally. check about taking either a combination of t3/t4 like levo/cytomel (t3) or armour (natural desiccated thyroid with t3/t4).…

I know you want to lose it before going on your trip but if it's any consolation...most of the US is overweight. You won't stand out. And hypothyroidism is common here too :) I know that's not what you wanted to hear though.

Beans and rice. That's how a lot of cultures eat. Plain and simple. Carbs and protein. Some oil for fat but one container of oil will last a long time.

I experienced that too on keto. It made me very wired feeling especially at night and no amount of magnesium calmed me down.
-
so confused....what happened?

So far I haven't been able to find any dr who will prescribe it in CA :(

Also should note--the primary goal of vyvanse treatment is not to lose weight--it is to lessen/eliminate BED. Weight loss is an effect of not binging over time--should not be used just to restrict. but it sounds like if you're having binging issues it may be helpful to you too.

following* scared of the cardiac effects of vyanse but also want to try it.

As Look_Its_Kriss said, you're getting defensive and the problem is much deeper than the 280 calorie question you had. I can promise you if you see another RD they will not give you that kind of advice. It sounds to me like you heard what you wanted to hear, not what they really told you. I've seen enough RDs and am…

BTW not a lecture. Just suggest getting a 2nd and 3rd if necessary opinion from a reputable RD
-
I'm amazed an RD would agree with you that to stop binging that you need to eat 1200 a day. I'd pay a more experienced professional to treat you because that is terrible advice coming from an RD. I don't care if you're 5'1"..you're eating less than a child's intake.

LOL we posted this at the exact same time!

Definitely check your iron, thyroid (specifically Free t3 and t4 levels), and try taking a b complex. I take Vitamin D and Vit. B and I find I recover better and have more energy when consistently taking them. It looks like you're eating a good amount but the migraines are concerning--see the doc and when you do, request…

Thank you Dan. As frustrating as it is to regain the weight it is an important lesson in patience and consistency. I believe a lot of the people on here doing the 1200 calorie quick fix or resorting to similar extremes I used to, may end up in a similar place I was in the past . Everyone is different but thank you for…

I posted recently on this too as I am right about as heavy as you, and 3 inches less, female. I wanted to hear from women who eat ~2000 calories to lose as 1200-1500 is not realistic for me..I've been on this dieting train for awhile and even at my thinnest, if I'm as active as I like to be for…

breast feeding also burns a LOT of calories. I have friends who have been through it and were eating around 2700-3000 a day with some activity and were able to lose. But very inspiring!

Thank you for this. Very insightful. And helpful to know others have similar struggles but can be successful and get back on track.

All different and interesting responses. Crazy how no one size fits all on this. Appreciate any other input as well.

Do you notice if either have an effect on you after lunch? My question is more about how it affects the hours after lunch. I personally feel like I'm the same level of hungry later in the day and have the desire to eat just as much having no breakfast vs having it.

Welcome, I deal with this too.
