I was away last week... weight up by over 2 lbs. Back to eating properly and in my calorie count. Weight down 2 lbs so far. Hopefully down another lb by Monday. Then I am back on track.

Ugh!!! Was away visiting and eating out and at friends and family. Weight up right now from salt and water. Time to get back to my weight before I left.

Such good info and where I’m leaning to. Cook my meals from scratch and cut out refine foods. Don’t over eat, move, be social. Too many different diets/rules on what is right and isn’t. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my thread. I learn/ reaffirm what I was thinking.

I was looking up Forks over Knives and the research the doctors did on patients with coronary disease and the improvement they had when they cut fat (animal products) out of their diets. Also the increase in IGF1 with eating a high fat diet. I don’t want to go vegetarian but would like to live my senior years in good…

I get that CICO works. It’s what you are doing to your health when you are on some of these diets that I’m wondering about.

The people that don’t like vegetables and some fruits maybe Super Taster. I’m one and have to hide vegetables... smoothies, stews, soups etc... where they are cut finely or something covers their flavour. Spices and herbs. I also take a multi vitamin to cover for the micro nutrients I don’t get from food.

I also should add that I follow IF 16/8, 2 meals a day for years. I really like having to only prepare two meals a day. I eat 1st meal between 11-1 and the 2nd between 5-7. When I follow it and stay in my calories for the day the weight just falls off. Now to give up the beer! :D

What I did to figure out my calorie count per day is goggle one of those calories calculators. Then I enter in all my info but when I enter in my weight I enter the weight I want to get down to. This way I’m learning what the calories and portion sizes I will have to always eat at maintenance. The weight keeps coming off.

I’ve change my calorie counting to weekly. I’m 1330 per day - 9310 a week. So if I have a higher day then I decrease what’s leaf of the week to hit my final number. It seems to be working.

Ugh! Beer! My weak spot. Up 1.5 lbs the next morning cause I also eat junk. Next day smarten up and eat within my calories. This morning down the 1.5 lbs but if I hadn’t had my beer night I would of been down even more. :s

Age also has to do with what your daily calorie intake is. At 25 I could eat 300 calories more than I do at 60. My maintence is 1330 now. So if I want to lose weight it’s a lot less calories.

I enter each item individually the first time. Then when I make it again I look up the dish with homemade in it and use that number. Not ideal but it is quicker.
