  • Has she gone to a doctor for her issue and is she taken meds for it? Exercise is great and all but it's not going to fix her hypothyroidism. I've suffered with it for years. Had all the symptoms but my numbers -- according to the quack doctors and endocrinologists I went to -- were "low but not low enough to warrant meds.…
  • Whole raw milk all the way.
  • If you're not hungry after then don't eat.
  • Desk job but I hit the gym and do cardio in the morning.
  • Are you weighing/measuring the food that you put on your plate? If not you could be underestimating the calories you're consuming. How long have you been at this?
  • But stevia -- TRUE stevia -- isn't a "food substitute". It's a plant. You can pick the leaves, dry them and crush them or you can take the leaves and put it right in whatever drink you're trying to sweeten. Granted straight from the garden it has more of an earthy flavor than the processed version that you'll buy at the…
  • No. I like both running outside and the treadmill. I for one am not going to run or walk outside when it's raining or cold and snowing. Where I live there's monster pot holes and in the winter time they're covered with ice and snow which can be quite dangerous. I don't see slipping and falling or snapping an ankle as a fun…
  • I don't always eat breakfast. If I'm hungry I eat it. If I'm not I don't.
  • LOL. I just mean maybe cut down on your drinks per night. My husband and I have about 2 bottles of wine a night (with the exception of Fridays) which is about 4 glasses but I make sure that I add those calories in first thing so that they're basically gone. I also workout every day -- not saying you don't -- but there's…
  • I've never done the really old VHS ones. I have a few of the newer ones and I personally like them. I've seen a lot of the one star reviews say they're not "hard enough" which is crap. I'm gasping, swearing, and giving the TV the one fingered salute during my workouts (and believe me when I say I'm far from out of shape).…
  • Why can't you just cut down on your drinking? Two entire bottles of wine? By yourself?? Honestly if that is the case then perhaps you need to seek help.
  • Which is fine but you could also be underestimating your portion size. You'd be surprised at how small portions actually are when you start weighing. But yes, if you know you're going to drink pre-log those calories.
  • What can and can't you do as far as mobility of your shoulder? I personally like Billy Blanks Tae-bo (go ahead and judge me! LOL). Lots of leg work, and ab work and the punches get the upper body. It's a really good workout.
  • The thing though is that with the Truvia stuff the rebiana is a super concentrated amount.
  • If you're not logging then how do you know the calories you're consuming are accurate? It sounds like you're eating a lot more than that. You need to weigh and measure your food and log everything accurately. As for the alcohol, I know I'm going to have wine in the evenings -- 2-3 glasses depending on the night -- so I…
  • We have one. We don't use it that often but I've made dried fruits and my husband has made jerky. We also dried some super hot peppers that we grew and ground them up.
  • Was it stevia or truvia? Because if it was it could have been the erythritol that did it.
  • I grow Stevia in my garden. Have dried the leaves and crushed them up to use as sweetener. It has an earthy taste but it's not that bad.
  • Treadmill running is easier because it's propelling you along. Also you don't have the uneven terrain like you do outside. Neither one is better, it's what you personally prefer. I've found I get side stitches when I haven't hydrated properly before the run. I've actually JUST got back into running (mostly because I have a…
  • What is the intensity at which you're walking? Are you out of breath? Do you feel like you've worked hard at the end of your 40 minutes? As someone pointed out the amount of sweat doesn't always equal the intensity of your workout. You don't have to run. There's nothing magical at all about running. If you want to start…
  • It depends on the person. The amount that I lift is heavy for me right now but might not be considered heavy for someone else. You can't compare yourself to others as far as strength goes. Everyone is different.
  • Honestly when I go out to eat I try to find something in the database that's close to what I had and I aim high on the portion/calorie count. It's really not that big a deal or something to freak out over. I personally wouldn't give up going out to eat because of this.
  • I try to stay away from gluten. My sister has celiacs and on occasion if I eat gluten my stomach acts up so I try to stay away from it as much as possible.
  • Actually no, it's not different. The girl in the restaurant assumed my husband was being an *kitten* to me without even knowing anything about what was going on. Everyone is assuming that the OP is in an abusive relationship without knowing anything about their background. I understand that she went on here to vent but it…
  • Let 'em. IDGAF. I love how people judge situations without even knowing everything that's going on. I had a "well meaning" girl come up and give me a hug in a bar and tell me she thought my husband was "being a complete and total jerk" because he "wasn't paying attention to me" when in reality he was having a meeting with…
  • I said it before and I'll say it again: NONE of us are living in that house. Everyone is forming an opinion based on this one post. As someone else pointed out we don't know if her lying is an on-going thing. We don't know if he's abusive but everyone is assuming he is based on this one instance that we weren't even there…
  • Is this something that you feel you can do and stick to it? That's the most important part. Eating at a deficit will cause you to lose weight, the lifting and cardio will just increase that deficit. From my personal experience I have to do cardio (in addition to my lifting). I didn't do it for a long time and stalled in…
  • I do my own workout. I work one muscle group a day and alternate abs and legs. Works quite well for me.
