Whatever you decide to do - DO IT!!! Everything works out fine and you'll have a blast!! One small word of advice: take all the money you will spend on shoes and put it in a little stock called "Intel". *Trust Me*. :)

Get up at 4:30ish. Make coffee. Drink coffee. Drink some more coffee. Get into workout clothes. Go down into the basement - do my workout - usually 65-75 minutes. Make a smoothie for breakfast. Take a shower. Take a nap... ;)

Lately, it's been the "News". Any network. Any time. Any talking head.... :(

When I first read the title of this thread - I thought "Type O" was a personality type. I had heard of the "type A" personality - so I was trying to figure out what type O was, and why one would eat based on what kind of personality they have. I feel a book coming on...LOL.

^^^That's what I thought too....

LOL!! I have to chuckle at this post - I have VERY short hair (is it OK if I post on this thread??) and feel the exact same way. I came really close to doing just that a few months back. My husband, who doesn't, as a rule, care about anything I do, oddly enough hit the ceiling when I told him my plan. Which really confused…

A perfectly grilled slab of steak. Shrimp cocktail. An iced-cold martini or two.... A piece of REAL Key lime pie. Most any song by Queen. Film noir. Watching men play sports. Any sport...

I love to see posts like this! "1 down - 122 to go"!! So positive and optimistic. Good for you!! Best of luck in your weight loss adventure!! :)

^^^^This!! I agree. Buy the best you can afford. I spent about 2 hours at the "treadmill store" - testing out various brands and models at all price ranges. I ended up paying about $2,700. I figured - if I'm going to use it - I have to LOVE it. And I do :)

Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the fandango??

I sweat like a pig. (Do pigs sweat?? Is that a non-PC question? Am I being insensitive to pigs??). Anyway - I have always sweated more than most. My entire life. The same with the majority of my siblings. Genetics???

....or: if going on vacation causes you this much agitation and anxiety - between society's standards, your family's lack of understanding, and all the other reasons you state - just don't go! I don't think I would choose to do something that caused me so much angst...self-inflicted or not.

Santa Fe is beautiful. A lot of opportunity for outdoor activities there. Hiking, biking, golfing....if it were me, I would eat sensibly and really, really UP my outdoor activity level :) Who knows?? Might come back lighter!!!

I love to walk for relaxation and enjoyment. However, for ME ( 5'4" 64 y/o female, 140 lbs) - it is NOT a weight loss solution. Unless I am walking briskly - about 3.5 MPH for several miles, walking burns surprisingly VERY few calories. In my experience, I need to RUN about 3 miles to see any significant calorie…

I don't know how to relate to people who: 1. Can't laugh at themselves 2. Live in the past 3. Play the victim 4. Won't put down their stupid smart phones....ever 5. Talk with their mouths full of food 6. Are afraid to try anything new 7. Have an inflated sense of self-importance 8. Don't get sarcasm 9. Talk endlessly about…

Be careful what you wish for. I was single most of my life. I loved it!! Travelled, started my own business, had a ball. Never really wanted kids, so that was not a issue for me. I got married at age 60. Four years into the marriage currently. Not really sure I made the right move.... just another perspective on life's…

I am a "natural" morning person - so I have a bit of a leg up. That being said, I have worked out in the mornings since college (I am 64 y/o now). The above poster is absolutely correct. It gets easier the more you do it. And you feel much more energized during the day. The downside??? An early bedtime. But I think it's…

Queen's "Hammer to Fall".....never get tired of Queen....been listening to them for almost 50 years now....

Potato chips!!! They give me heartburn. I guess it's just as well :( It's The Universe telling me not to eat them....

While out running, I got hit on a few months back by an old guy on a mobility scooter with an oxygen tank. My first thought was: what the *Kitten*!!! My second thought was just to laugh about it. I'm 64 years old, and at least I'm still turning somebody's head!!

I used to be an avid road cyclist -way back before there were distracted drivers everywhere on their cell phones. I had bottles, apple cores and empty pop cans thrown at me. Then I started jogging on sidewalks. The things people yelled out their car windows to me are unrepeatable in this forum. I was not heavy. There are…

Sounds absolutely DELISH!! Thank you for posting that!! :)

I'm going to chime in on the perceived "high cost" of "healthy" foods. I live in the Northeast US. Sometimes I'm astounded at how cheap some good foods are!! Bananas - about 8 cents each. 10 pounds of baking potatoes for $1.50. Low-fat yogurt - 69 cents/container. A large package of pre-washed baby spinach - $2.49. These…

I am an EXTREMELY impatient person. In all things. But when it came to losing weight, I really had to overcome that tendency. Slow and steady wins the race I have discovered.... :/

I always root for Peter Sagan in the Tour de France. As for a team: The New England Patriots. OK. Breathe. I am now totally prepared for all the nasty backlash on that one. LOL.

Flip flops, a hair cut w/ some highlights and an iced coffee....

Coffee. and, um....coffee...

I got married for the first time when I turned 60. I had chosen to be single - didn't want kids, had started my own business, preferred my independence, liked to travel alone, and seemed to intentionally pick men who felt the same way. I was perfectly happy and content.... So now we are about to celebrate our 4th…
