  • Love this challenge. I have been reading for 15 minutes before going to bed - and I think it is actually helping me fall asleep. Usually I stare at my phone or watch a little TV. It's actually really refreshing and I found a book I really like. Hopefully I can keep this up after this week and even throw in a weekend…
  • Denise your story is inspiring!!! I'm going to spend 15 minutes reading - for pleasure - before going to bed. I love reading fiction, but never seem to have time for it. I'm going to pick up a novel and enjoy the escape.
  • Love all of these...except the squats (haaaate squats). But, I shall do them
  • I'm new to this group but love the challenges so far. I usually don't get enough fruits and veggies, so starting this week with lots of them! It's snacks that are a challenge - how often do we forget to include fruits/veggies as a snack and instead reach for unhealthy options? Challenge accepted :)
  • It's different for everyone! For me, I binge alone. That means that as soon as people leave the house, I'm in the cereal or chips. At work, it's terrible because no one is going to say anything to me about it. I came up with a few tricks. I plan out a morning and afternoon snack to avoid buying carb-heavy and filling stuff…
  • I'm 27 and struggle with emotional and stress eating! It can get pretty bad, but I'm slowly learning how to control it. Feel free to add me!
  • It's hard! Binging is like an addiction. It's easy to start, and nearly impossible to stop. I can't pretend to know what it feels like to be in the medical profession and to struggle with your weight at the same time. I imagine the stress of that alone is enough to trigger all those bad habits. But just remember that your…
  • I do a lot of yoga for strength and to stretch out. I find it really makes a difference on my run days - less stretching required and it helps my core. On my other free day I go to the gym and do some bike/elliptical combination and do some weights (although I hate weights).
  • Thanks! I have slowed down a bit. I'm almost done week 4. The last day was really hard, but I'm going to re-do it Wednesday and then move on to week 5 and hope for the best :)
  • It's okay. You binged. It will happen. We can't expect to eat clean and healthy all the time. Sometimes, our emotions will get the best of us. The decision now is how to move on. Think of today as a new day. Work a little harder. Get outside. Go for a walk and clear your head. Do some meal planning and decide to be better…
  • I got them really badly when I started the program. I found I needed to A) retrain my body to run and B) get new shoes with better support. Also make sure to do a series of stretches prior to running. I need to really stretch out my calves before I do a run to avoid shin splints. When I came back, I started 1-2 weeks…
  • I'm trying clean eating, but I don't do it 100 %. I find it a bit difficult and if I try to eliminate everything I fail big time. However, I'm getting back into it slowly and have just rejoined MFP and would love new friends! Feel free to add me!
  • It's really hard. I tend to bounce back and forth between being completely committed and not caring at all. I think balance is really key - trying to do small things that will motivate you to do more when you are ready. I believe you can do it! I'm hoping to post more and more (elections kind of put that on hold that last…
  • For those sad about elections this week:
  • How's it going so far Sandra? I haven't been tracking (bad) but I am going to the gym today, which makes it 2/3 for the week! Annnd I've been drinking more water. I think the elections threw me off my game. I was so committed and then...yeah. I'm a journalist so this week has been nuts and I haven't been eating as well as…
  • Hi Meow and Mfexxiwig! Sorry about being MIA - went through some rough stuff and just walked about from Fitness Pal for a while. But I'm glad to see that others have started using this group. For me, stress and just emotions in general are a strong trigger. If I'm sad or frustrated I'll get a treat, and then it's over for…
  • How is everyone doing? I'm not going to post accountability threads everyday until we get enough members to respond — or else it's just my voice ranting about life and that's not interesting haha. I'm not doing that great with tracking, but I have been drinking more water. Still feeling under the weather which is annoying,…
  • Me: 3 B: 1 What's DBF? Super impressed with my control today. The day is not yet over (my work day is), but there are people at home so I got over the biggest hurdle of eating alone.
  • Me: 2 (started this week) B: 1 A terrible start, but hopefully it will get easier.
  • I love overnight oats for breakfast - I take a jam jar and mix oats, chia seeds, almond milk, a sweetener like maple syrup, and some fruit. Add cinnamon too! Then shake and put in fridge overnight for a grab and go breakfast. Really energizing. Google Skinnytaste Oats in a Jar for real recipe.
  • I just joined FP and this group. I'm going to start my count today, because last week was a binging disaster - and ultimately one that led me here. How often are people posting?
  • Just re-joined after gaining a lot of weight. Looking to start anew this week. Starting small by cutting out my daily (and unnecessary) treats and focusing on eating clean and healthy foods. But, as a binge eater, I'm already feeling anxious.
