  • A few questions: How long have you been 'stuck' for? How close to your goal weight are you? Do you weigh all solid food and measure all liquids? What percentage of exercise calories do you eat back?
  • I'm 5'1 and 142lb and my maintenance calories are 1630 (with activity level at sedentary), so I doubt yours are much different, possibly a little lower. You'd probably maintain.
  • I couldn't do this without getting on the scale. I weigh every morning and I like taking note of daily fluctuations and figuring out what caused them, seeing the trend of numbers over time and of course seeing the over all loss of fat over the months! But that's just me, everyone is different! There's no reason why you…
  • I'm really looking forward to getting to my destination, mainly because I've lost weight loads of times but never hit goal and this time I know I can finish what I've started! But I'm also learning so much along the way, about how my weight fluctuates and what causes it, how to fit in the foods that feel like a treat…
  • I was going to further reply to the op but you've just said it for me. For every suggestion there's a "yes, but..."
  • That Harvard study actually states that antidepressants cause minimal weight gain, 1-2lb. In my experience (I have taken several types of antidepressants and also worked in mental health services for over 10 years) the ssri group of antidepressants, which is what citalopram/celexa is, does not prevent a person from losing…
  • You've really not noticed any difference?! I'm the same height as you, currently 142lb, and I've had more comments and noticed bigger differences in my body since I lost the most recent 8lb than I have for the previous 60!! I would have thought that at your lighter weight you would see some change? Perhaps try taking…
  • Calories in and out, no 'banned' foods. I try to limit my intake of refined sugar and keep those treats to a once a week thing but that's because i used to be quite addicted to the stuff and didn't know when to stop! Nothing wrong with it (or anything else for that matter) daily if it fits your diary/macros.
  • ^^^ shred! Day 10 level 1 done today - kinda looking forward to doing level 2 tomorrow but I keep hearing how hard it is!
  • Each level is done for 10 days, so 30 days in total. Although they're not meant to be completed in a month - take rest days as you need them.
  • I'm doing day 10 today, but because I'm out the house all day again tomorrow so won't be able to do it, I'm planning to repeat level 1 for an extra day on Thursday before I start level 2. The stitch was only that once, I wonder if it was because I did it on an empty stomach? It was getting late and I didn't want to do it…
  • Level 1 day 9 is done! Noticed I'm finding the cardio parts easier now, much improved stamina! Although I got an annoying stitch in my side part way through which got in the way and I wasn't able to do the intensity I wanted to because of it. I'm not sure what causes a stitch, I was breathing well but it wouldn't go unless…
  • Level 1 day 8 done! I'm finding it much easier to get motivated now, although I'm looking forward to moving on to level 2 - just starting to get bored of these moves. I expect I'll be begging for level 1 again when level 2 is kicking my butt! Btw, does anyone else talk to Jillian?! I find myself replying to stuff she says…
  • Absolutely! It's about feeling happy in your own skin - and that's different for each of us! You look great, and I love the dress in your picture!
  • Level 1 day 7 done! I'm starting to look forward to doing it now, although I still hate circuit 1, my arms are screaming through the strength section! I'm starting to notice improvements in my body too - my middle feels tighter, especially my sides. Very exciting to feel changes happening this early on! Loving checking in…
  • This has made me realise just how much different body types effect clothes sizes etc. I'm 5'1 and currently 10 stone 6, but I'm wearing uk size 10 jeans and in an 8-10 top (depending on the shop - big boobs!). I have an hourglass figure so everything is baggy round my waist but snug over my thighs and boobs. My initial…
  • You say this as though it's up to your friends where THEY want to eat?! Don't forget you have opinions that matter too!
  • When in this situation I try and still log everything I eat, even if I have to guess a bit. It stops me from having a "oh screw it" mentality, and then shoving everything tasty in my mouth! It also reminds me that one day or weekend isn't going to make me suddenly regain all the pounds I've lost, I'd have to eat 3,500…
  • Skipped it today - didn't get home til 9pm and I had an intense lesson on my horse this evening which has made my legs feel like jelly, so I'm sure that just as good as all those squats!
  • Level 1 day 6 done! I really had to force myself to do it today, had two really busy days and was feeling shattered when I got home at 8pm, so didn't even sit down for a moment when I got home! If I'd paused for a moment I'd have talked myself out of it and found excuses. But now it's over I'm very glad I made the effort!…
  • Fruit with natural yoghurt and chopped nuts. I'm not a huge fan of breakfast but it's enough for me.
  • I'm doing shred and i take every Monday off. Partly because I'm out of the house for 16 hours and I can't easily fit it in, but also because I'm not a machine and my body appreciates the chance to recover. I started shred with the same mindset, that I must just suck it up, but mfp folk advised me to take a rest day and I…
  • Level 1 day 5 done! The upper body stuff was definitely harder than the last few days. I think I'm getting better at the press ups, still doing the modified version but technique is better and I'm doing them lower now. I still hate jumping jacks though!
  • Just out of interest, those of you who have done shred before, when did you notice a difference in your shape? I'm only on day 4 so not expecting any changed for ages yet!
  • Day 4 done! Definitely benefitted from the rest yesterday but not easy doing this after a day of eating and drinking! Ah well, birthdays come only once a year and I thoroughly enjoyed mine! Just gotta finish the last of the pistachio and lemon cake, then back to tracking!
  • Thanks, that's very reassuring! I did day 3 but I'm not doing it today as its my birthday and I'm out all day. Normal service will resume tomorrow!
  • I hear ya!! If only my boobs and butt would drop some of the weight...my boobs are the same as 52lbs ago! At this rate, when I hit goal I'll look like a cartoon character... :D
  • Oh honey, I get it. I've done the same thing a few times, felt the shame of what felt like an insurmountable regain and wondered how it all went so wrong so fast. It took me several attempts and a few years to learn where I was going wrong, it might be different for you but I hope this might help a little. I was losing…
  • I lost 52lb without logging a thing. It's possible. BUT now I'm only 20lb from goal and the fact that I'm only 5'1 means I can only manage a small calorie deficit (which is necessary for weight loss, whatever plan you follow) and tracking and logging everything means I can make sure I am actually eating what I think I am.…
  • From what I've read, although I'm happy to be wrong, the 30 day shred is intended to be done over 30 consecutive days? Although I'm pretty sore it feels manageable. I was considering taking Monday's off, as its my usual day at uni and I leave the house at 8am, home after 10pm and it would tricky to fit it in.
