Just one point of clarification, the getting after him part is just to get him to start making changes. Don't read too much into my comments, this isn't about emotional abuse here. Guys are great teammates. His life is the game, he's a player and you're his Captain. You need to get his head back in the game. As teammates,…

Let me chime in as a guy. If this thread were a guy asking about approaching his wife about losing weight, I'd either stay out of it or my answers would be entirely different. Anyway...you need to get after him about this. Don't be shy about it either. You need to sit him down, look him in the eye and give it to him…

Yup, I agree with this, nice work!!

This is so funny, I used to wear T-shirts in the winter and usually went without a jacket. Now, I'm indoors typing this message wearing a hooded sweatshirt (pulled over my head) and I have a space heater under the desk!

I once lost over 50 pounds on LC dieting. After awhile I couldn't eat another egg. I gained it ALL back and a little more. I did the yo-yo thing for two years before deciding to give LC another try. One month in and it was over, I just couldn't live that lifestyle forever and I knew it. I decided enough was enough and I…

I started MFP in April of 2016 and I've lost 49 pounds. I've tried just about every diet ever invented. When I decided to be normal for the first time in my life, it made all the difference in the world. All I do is count calories. I haven't really changed a thing, still eat pretty much whatever I want. I make smarter…

I joined a gym that stays open late. I can't do workouts in the morning but late at night...I have nothing better to do and no excuses.

I could never work out at home, too many distractions. Paying for a membership is motivation to use it. It is expensive but you get flexibility in how you train, better options for cardio and it's an investment in your health. I have owned a few really great home gyms years ago but they always left something to be desired…

Welcome to the paper bag club! You can do it, I know you can! Pack some healthy treats to carry you thru your busy day. Use Protein shakes, fruit and some of your favorite veggies. Stick to healthy eating and go workout when you can find time. You can lose weight and/or control your weight with diet alone. You are lucky…

Hi, your weightloss is a success, congratulations! I agree with the others, the amount you are losing in such a short period of time is alarming. It sounds like your body is handling it just fine right now but I'm glad you have realized something is not right. You could have problems down the road if you don't reel it back…

My butt fell off! All I have left is a back crack :) . I seriously qualify as an old man already. Not that frogs don't have a nice back side but I really wasn't counting on that.

So is it before and after OR after then before? Either way, you look great in both pictures. Congrats on hitting your goal! Those last 20 are the toughest to lose.

Stick with the basics, the bottom line is only a caloric deficit will get you there. If you increase your exercise, you'll have to eat back the calories anyways to avoid stressing out your body from lack of calories. So if you love to eat hoards of food, then you need to learn to love long bouts of cardio and weight…

I think you've done a great job so far. You have lost weight! Look at this on the bright side, everyday you watch what you eat and you've lost weight. You are a little stuck and you will get it moving again, just stick with it! All the advice I've read so far has been excellent, this forum is the greatest so take…

You should definitely follow the guideline and track everything carefully for two weeks. A normal diet is 2,000 calories a day and anything under 1500 is really low. The body needs some fuel to keep going.

Yeah, not accurate. Whatever it tells you, cut that in half right off the top. If it says you can enjoy eating 600 more calories after your grueling workout...then eat back 300 and see what happens after a few weeks. If you start losing more than 2 pounds a week then add back in another half of the half that was left over…

Good work on the recent weightloss. Use the app, input your weight periodically and the app will track you. You can check the app for your progress and you can see a graph that shows your trend. As long as you trend down over a period of time that is what you want. There will always be ups and downs but you want to trend…

I think you have to get back on that wagon after you fall off. I've seen the bottom of the wagon more than I've seen the top but that never stops me. I don't quit but I do make mistakes and fail. I have always liked this quote: Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just…

Yeah, you are looking great, very healthy and trim, nice work!

I'm happy to see you are so open and realistic about issues involving losing that much weight. Excess skin scares a lot of people and almost makes them afraid to lose the weight. If you continue to lose weight as a slow/steady rate, stay hydrated, use good creams twice daily on the stretch marks and are lucky, you won't…

I love apple slices and dipping them in peanut butter for a snack. Cottage Cheese makes a good side dish for mornings as well as greek yogurt.

You shocked your body, that's all. The others are right, you are retaining water and glycogen and the body isn't going to give up anything until it settles in. Give it a few weeks to get on track, be consistent with your workouts and food and it will all come back full circle.

Some other issues you were having involved being hungry by dinner time. If you are getting hungry you should increase your protein intake all day starting with breakfast which will curb your appetite some throughout the day. You may have to plan on eating two smaller meals at work for those long 10 hour days. You might…
