I wonder if this is why I'm always freezing in my house. Everyone keeps the air conditioning and 64, and they're all fine and I'm in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and uggs. But they're also all overweight.

I lost 75lbs this year and now it's winter in Ohio and I cannot stand it. I can't deal with the cold. I keep the heat higher now and use a microwavable warming neck wrap. I definitely think k mine is weight loss related

This is so funny, I used to wear T-shirts in the winter and usually went without a jacket. Now, I'm indoors typing this message wearing a hooded sweatshirt (pulled over my head) and I have a space heater under the desk!

I've lost approx. 60 lbs over the last couple of years(slowly, which I think is best), & I noticed last summer that the heat & humidity didn't really bother me(I live in the Midwest)which was a big change from the past wherein summer was my nemesis due to sensitivity to humidity. This was great, BUT, as I feared, now that it's getting cold outside I'm absolutely FREEZING! for the 1st time in my life, really. & the weird thing is, I was thin most of my life(I'm 45, & was thin 'til 35 or so)& never had this happen, so I'm a bit concerned as to why it is. I don't think it's age or weight related, & I did have Mono this summer & some issues with my pancrease. So, should I be worried that the coldness is due to something other than weight loss? Would you be?

You're likely cold simply due to being less insulated, but since you had mono and issues with your pancreas, better to go to the doctor just to be safe. And bundle up :dizzy:

I am cold all the time, but then I was cold much of the time when obese too. I think in my case it is a matter of poor circulation. Staying well hydrated (which boosts blood volume) seems to help.

    1) Less fat = less insulation
    2) Prolonged deficits and severe calorie restriction can lead to hormonal imbalances

Number 1 is a fact of life, wrap up warm. Number 2 is more serious but can probably be reversed.

I too have been experiencing this. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I wonder if it isn't because of drinking so much water when we're trying to lose weight. I wonder this because whenever I've been pregnant I become quite ill and dehydrate to the point where I have to have an i.v. and a few seconds into it I always start shivering with cold. This last week I haven't been drinking all my water, and the cold is gone.
    Just a thought.

Glad others are feeling this. I've noticed it a lot this week. Normally I'm hot and sweaty all the time. Now my hands are like icicles.

It gets better once you’ve been in maintenance for a bit, I promise. In the meantime, fleece jackets and hot tea are your friends.

    Yeah.

Frigid pool has been really warm this year, even at 5:45AM in January. Thank you, blubber.
