  • Diagnosed with ultrasound, fatty liver due to diet and beer :s Been taking it seriously, so far so good
  • Also from Vancouver. Been a binge eater in the past but seem to be ok with it this time around.
  • Bruins/Patriots/Sox fan does that help...lol
  • I called my first weeks Mcdonalds/Pizza Hut/Wendys Weight loss. Strange things happen when you start eating better and within a calorie deficit.
  • Good job! Stick with it. I am 10 yrs older but 6'5 and started at a little over 300lbs. Been 8 weeks and down to 267. I do a good mix of cardio and weights, I haven't cut out anything completely but soda only a couple times a month. I have a sweet tooth but have moderated myself to a very small amount daily. Fell free to…
  • Donairs, I dont care if its chicken, Beef or Lamb, love them all
  • I only eat between 12pm and 8 pm, stay within my daily calories and I have absolutely no issues with energy. I go to a 9:30am spin class, then minimum 1 hour walk to loosen up the legs and have yet to feel sluggish.

  • Vancouver BC
  • I had a real problem with this, logged all meals, then found the only way to stay under my sodium intake was to eat only the food I was preparing at home. No eating out, no processed. All that is loaded with sodium!
  • It all starts with one day! And you are here, that's a great start! J
  • Exhausted! TGIF!
  • All good, and i did have the phrase "muscle weighs more than fat" in my mind when i posted but that's why the question. We don't always get the answer we want. Lots of great info tho. The photo will switch to me soon!
  • Welcome Thorngirl, I am fairly new at this myself. From Vancouver.
  • Psulemon, I am definitely giving myself too much credit for self designing a program, it is more like a structured program that I found online with structured reps/sets and exercises. I just adapted it to the equipment that I have available to me in my gym. If/when i get into lifting heavier I will head your advice an use…
  • Appreciate the responses, some great insight. I am 6'5, 45yrs old and have weighed over 300 in the past few months I am sure. 6 weeks ago when I started MFP I weighed in at 296.8lbs. I have been given a fairly clean bill of health with the only current concerns being borderline high blood pressure and higher than normal…
  • Thanks for the responses. I am more like "sidesteel" first example. I was sedentary before 6 weeks ago, I started a calorie deficit diet, added cardio and started slowly with lifting weights. My body has never experienced very much weight lifting because when I was leaner I was into endurance sports, Marathons, Ironman…
  • Thanks! This time both cardio and weights are feeling good so easier to keep up with it. I have found walking to be quite beneficial despite my earlier beliefs. When you get a good base of walking in, try running 1 minute out of every 5, then when you feel comfortable increase the running slowly. J

  • I definitely second using iced tea to curb your pop craving. Of course I am talking about water, Ice, and a tea bag (I use raspberry or a peach tea) not store bought sweetened versions. I had a huge pop/slurpee addiction and its been 5 weeks without and I don't find myself craving it.
