This is interesting question as I thought it did. I stand corrected. I certainly don't need as much food to fill myself as I used to or it could be that after portion control I've got used to eating a certain amount and stopping. I very rarely eat so much I feel stuffed anymore (due to portion control) just comfortably…

I usually pre log my meals daily. If I find I don't want what I planned (usually for evening meal) at least I know how many calories I can play with and choose something different to fit into that amount of calories.
-
You asked how people deal with it. I deal with it by making the choice of not eating the samples, but if you simply have to eat them, then you have to choose to estimate the calories and live with it.

To say you say you don't like vegetables then list 5 that you do like, means to me you do like some vegetables, so keep trying different ones. Canned veggies still count, potatoes and corn still count as vegetables. There are a lot of vegetables I don't like, but then there's a lot I do like too.

You don't get a choice in the UK you get referred by your GP to where ever's free and then of course in America you have to have insurance.
-
You don't have to eat the samples!

I'm not worried about anxiety during the operation it's before and after. For me anxiety can be so crippling that I can't leave my home. How am I going to be able to stay overnight and basically be trapped in a hospital bed for days. I'm guessing you don't suffer from anxiety. Just because you had no complications doesn't…

Yeh when I realised this I just made a new account and started again adding all the foods manually to my own private list
-
They can change the info yes. This is why I add all my foods to my food diary manually and don't share with the database. Plus people don't always add foods to the database accurately or edit accurately

I've had therapy for my anxiety and am doing much better, but still wouldn't put myself through surgery unless necessary. I've had bad periods all my adult life, so pain and heavy periods are normal to me and I'm used to it. I'd rather suffer like this once a month than suffer the extreme anxiety I would have before,…

When you have health anxiety as I do, the thought of having to stay in hospital, having an actual operation, infection, blood clots, something going wrong, living on my own after the operation would cause me so much panic I wouldn't be able to do it unless it was life threatening and there was no choice. I had my…

I'm the same, the thought of having a hysterectomy scares me a lot more than the fibroids, though I'm 45 so have a long wait for the menopause. I'm just playing it by ear for the moment, if they get worse and disrupt my life so much I can't enjoy it I'll consider my options again. Added: went for a walk yesterday and as I…

Apart from snacks, I do this anyway, I don't eat sweets or go back for seconds. And what's wrong with snacks exactly? (I should add I'm from the UK and in the UK we call candy sweets)

My period doesn't effect my weight at all. I lose 2lb every week even the week of my period, the week before and after, and considering I have a period every 21 days I only really have 1 week off so to speak, so it's a good job it doesn't interfere with my weight.
-
I'm guessing you haven't been logging foods on here as you only joined 4 days ago (unless you had a different account) according to your profile. So have you actually been logging the food you eat or estimating?

I've had fibroids for a few years now, a 5cm one and a 7cm one. I do get pain in the general location of them but have noticed my healthy diet & exercised has definitely improved the pain for me. I gave up dairy and meat (apart from fish) which I believe has contributed. I read up on fibroids and you should avoid high fat…

There could be many reasons for this. Depending on how long you've been feeling like this, I'd do what everyone is suggesting maybe for a couple of weeks, if there's no improvement see your Doctor. I used to get sleepy every afternoon no matter what I did, what I ate. I am low in iron, but had that under control. It turned…

I can see in your diary there's a few things you don't weigh, like today vegetable soup 1 pot, Batts - Hoisin and Garlic, 1 half pack, Chedder stick 1 stick rather than weighing it. I've noticed a lot of food labels say a pot contains a certain amount when actually it contains less or more. I'd start weighing everything…

This is why I don't use the database anymore, as anyone can edit them and even the green ticked foods are not always accurate. I started entering all my foods manually and not sharing with the database. That way I know they are correct and no one can change them.

I've lost 39lbs since January and not one green smoothie.

Thankfully I'm not a sheep and don't always think what society says I should.

The only thing that annoys me about people saying they skip breakfast is it's impossible to skip breakfast unless they don't eat at all that day. Breakfast is simply the first meal of the day, be it as soon as you get out of bed or 5 hours later. What people actually mean is they don't eat as soon as they get up, or they…

Thankfully I don't eat any of these!

When I first started out on MFP I stuck to the 1200 cals a day. I ate the same things most days as I couldn't fit most things I wanted to eat in the plan. I was so scared to up my calories thinking I'll never lose weight if I eat more. I did lose the weight on 1200 a day, but put it all back on again. This time I'm eating…

Jaffa cakes. If I open a box I eat the lot, that's 12 jaffa cakes all at once.
-
Another myth. I eat more calories nearer the end of the day and have not gained any weight, in fact lost 39lb this year so far. Eating late in the day has no effect on weight loss.
-
I usually have a 12 hour window where I don't eat (last meal around 8pm, breakfast around 8:30am usually) so I don't see how adding a couple extra hours to that window would make any difference.
-
Just because you do exercise doesn't mean you can't put on weight. It all depends on what calories you ate and what calories you burnt.

Salad is only YUCK if you add foods to a salad you find YUCK. A salad isn't a set rigid meal with set ingredients, you can add whatever you like to a salad. Be adventurous.

I got a fitbit as I had started a new job (a desk job) and wanted to see how many steps I was taking throughout the day & during the walk to & from work. The step count was inaccurate as it counted steps everytime I moved my arm during my work as I was sat down at my desk, so had to keep taking it off and putting it back…
