Wow! You look amazing. Awesome job! How about trying to get extra steps in. Try something new. Some colleges here charge a small fee but will let you swim. Can you join an exercise group at a Ymca/ ywca? Get a friend involved and learn something new? Just do the best you can. Squeeze in exercise when you can. Run in place.…

If you want it bad enough, you will go after it regardless of what others say or do. People are not going to always cheer you on. People aren't always going to do it with you. My spouse never joined me on my weight loss except the occasional walk. That was fine. I wasn't making his decisions. I was making mine. My life is…

Have your thyroid checked and talk to dr. If you are calorie counting and accurately and you are exercising, the weight should be coming off. But a dr can rule out things that we can not. If you have eaten alot of salty foods it could be water retention. Same thing if you have changed your exercise routine lately. Last…

I will add this. Any time you drink an 8 oz glass of plain water before meal it will curb over eating/ suppress appetite ( which apple cidar vinegar supposedly does) So my question is.... Is it the vinegar or the plain water? My guess... Plain water. Why not just not go over daily calories and call it a day?

I congratulate you on your progress. Some are saying 7 days at the gym is too much. My question is are you splitting it up? 3- 4 days of cardio at the gym and 3-4 days of strength? Or is it 7 days of strength or 7 days of cardio? I think we would like more information.

You are so right, the mind really gets in the way some days. If you don't go over calories then just add it to your day. My only suggestion is stop calling it a treat. Save that word for a true treat. Say you want to go to the ice cream shop next week for a cone or sundae. Plan ahead calculate calories and enjoy your…

I got rid of using it for an excuse. Watched my added salt. Kept up on blood work. Didn't do refined carbs. Found out they prevent your body from absorbing all the meds which leads to the need of needing higher doses. Did away with soy as soy slows down the metabolism. Really it doesn't matter what you do. Do what you like…

Just affects the scale number but that will even out in a day or two.

I am glad you all got that figured out

Some people only talk to me because of my weight loss. It's their main focus. Yes it bothers me. I will be honest. I didn't lose weight for recognition. Of course they will notice. But do they need to talk about before saying hi? Do they need to talk about every single time I see them? I know they mean well and are trying…

All things are possible if we believe. Determination is a mind set that gets the ball moving.

When did you have a check up with a dr? How's your blood work? Thyroid tests come out ok? Are you holding water? Water retention is for the birds but it can prevent you from seeing the results. Slow progress is better than no progress. There are a lot of possibilities to why our bodies act stubborn when we try weight loss.…

15 minutes a day Fantastic! Healthy food you like. Fabulous. Asking for support. Incredible. You are so going to get there. Take it slow. Do exercises you like. Drink plenty of water. Don't go over your daily calorie allowed and you will see success. Welcome to your journey.

Is there a way you can keep 1 set of workout clothes in your car for the days you forget the regular ones? 3 days a week is good. Some people can't get off the couch to march in place for 5 minutes a day. So yay for you for making it 3 days a week. Spring is here so that will be a good motivator ( unless your work schedule…

I can not add anything new. Congratulations on the hard work and dedication. Now go inspire others and encourage them.

Eat what MFP says. Eat 1/2 of your exercise calories back. Congratulations on the long walk. That is awesome. Do what your body allows and what you enjoy for exercise. Don't rush it. You will be fine as long as you stick to it. Be proud of yourself every day! You can do this.

They say. When you crave chocolate stress, tension, and sometimes ( more so for women) hormonal imbalances are to blame. As you know, unless you have a medical reason to stay away from certain foods, it is the amounts that cause weight issues. Perhaps you can start a journal of : how were you feeling when the craving hit,…

You can do it. Find a plan You will stick to. Find an exercise routine You will stick to. Be honest with calorie logging ( its how we learn). Be patient with yourself. Bad days will happen, but every tomorrow is a new day. Don't worry about others. Don't compare yourself to others. Getting healthy is quite the journey and…

I agree with Gaucho. I will add this : the only time you need to watch carbs( especially refined) , sugars, or salt is if you have some medical condition that those foods effect. If you are not eating enough calories, it will make the process slower. You must give your body time. When I say your I mean you. Just because…

Being hypo myself, I have learned that I get enough salt through foods( meat, veggies, fruit) that I do not need to add it. I also found out that eliminating added salts and salty foods( take out, chips, etc) my water retention isn't as bad. I may go up a lb from time to time , but it isn't 7 lbs anymore. I also learned…

I have found splitting up my exercise times helps. I do half in the morning and half mid afternoon. It helps with my moods as well. I do not do well when its been dreary for a couple of days in a row and add the colder temps. Not good. It seems to be the thing that works for me.

Find something you like to do : walk, bike ride, jog, dance, lift weights, etc. If you like it, you will stick to it. Once you decide what you truly like, schedule it in your day and don't let excuses prevent you from doing it. Life happens and sometimes it's ok to let it go, but if life happens often then that is where…

Oh water weight is miserable. I detest water weight. 4 lbs water weight takes me a week or so to get rid of and 2 days of mental confirmation that i did not eat an excess of 3500 calories per pound. Chin up. It will settle. Breathe and keep the memories of the festival.

My husband and I eat the same protein and veggies. He may or may not eat a potato ,rice, or pasta with his. He makes his breakfast and lunch and I make mine. So I am not much help on that aspect. He weighs his food, I don't weigh mine. As for going out, check the restaurant menus. How about you choose one week so you can…

I think it is great that you want to lose weight. But why? What is your reason to lose weight? Do you want to lose weight or do you want to get healthy? Why the desperate need to lose 71 lbs by Christmas? What are you willing to do to reach your goals? Getting healthy is more than inches lost or scale numbers getting…

I love your honesty. I am not out to hurt you. But I want you know I had to come to this realization myself. Stop talking about what you can't have or do! Start talking about the foods you like and can have. Start finding exercises you like and will stick to. If you like dance and walking but get bored easily. Do dance one…

I use a gentle halter/ halt I for my husky. He was a former sled dog and anything else on him he pulls like mad. I also had to leash train him. What i did was: put leash on dog. Take a few steps if he went in front of me. I stopped. I wouldn't move until he turned to look at me. With the halti if they pull they auto turn…

Well, this could be a two for one deal: how about rewarding yourself with smaller clothes as you lose the inches? With this you are rewarding your loss and your non scale goals. You can enter marathons throughout your journey. Buy a book, go bike riding somewhere new, visit a friend or family member you haven't seen in…

Is there a way to cut back on the dose and gradually get off them? Sometimes our body goes hey wire when we abruptly stop a medication. I fully understand the reason why you want to do this without them and think you should, but gradually reducing the meds while doing so at first. But I am no Dr. So talk to yours about…

If this strangers, just ignore it. When people have bad days they tend to pick on others. Family or friends I just say, I did an hour on elliptical today. It's a start. Every bit helps. No more comments. But I don't publicly talk to many about my weight loss. I want it to be my journey not theirs through me. I have 1 close…
