Visit a friend, read a book, play a game ( board game night with friends), soak your feet, learn a new recipe that fits into your health goals. I like to buy a specialty yarn or thread for crocheting that is under $10 every time I lose a set amount of weight. Spending money yes, but still keeping it budget friendly.

To the OP, is there anything else your mom and sister like doing that is exercised based? Swimming, hiking, playing tennis, etc. maybe take a dance class together. Something you all wouldn't mind doing that would be fun for everyone? I honor your desire to do things with them. In my area they have walking marathons is there…

Get some blood work done. Check hormones and have your thyroid checked. Talk to your dr and perhaps they can advise you more.

Thank you for speaking the way it is. Sorry about your pain. So glad you are an over comer. So glad you shared this personal wake up call that so many will read and say " today is the day, I change for me".

Isn't it hard sometimes. When we start weight loss for whatever reason, we get this mental state that says " I'm not doing enough. I need to do more. This area needs work. This one too." Then we say, " well I need to lose more , I need to lose x amount more." But the truth is, we exercised. We did it. We made it through…

I have the same problem. I have spoken to several "owners". Didn't get anywhere. I get laughs. I said our state has a leash law. They said no it don't . When I got home, I contacted humane society to ask them. They told me if the dog isn't in danger it's not their problem. My dog was in danger. So called the game warden…

I love taking morning walks with my Siberia Husky. He sure does help with speed and great companion. He is very intimidating to a lot of people and some other dogs.

Amazing job. With gorgeous scenery like who could resist biking. Way to go!

What keeps me motivated? Th constant desire to keep going. Seeing the scales go down is nice. Buying new smaller sized clothes is nice. But knowing that I can do 1 hr of elliptical ( for me that is 12 miles) a day is exciting. Who would of thought I could do that. Walking at a faster pace than when I started out. I was…

You said you have been walking and using weights more this past week, could it be water retention? Your muscles will retain water for the repairing after a workout. Keep weighing your foods ( yes that means everything) and drink plenty of water.

My biggest struggle is the mental part of it. I enjoy exercise. I enjoy the foods I eat. But, telling myself I am worth a healthy life. I am worth caring for. Was the hard part. So for me it's mental state of mind.

Well done. Congratulations!

Sorry to hear about your son and your bad feet. You surely have come to the right place. Sending you a request.

Fantastic. You go girl!

I'm glad your starting your weight loss now instead of around the holidays. It's virtually impossible to start at those times. Now, you have a few months to get healthy eating started, to be more active as nicer weather is among us. As for the pressure, I will just tell you this. You Must do this for You. I have tried to…

Have your dr check you for a slow release stomach. If the food don't empty like it should, you will have the full feeling a lot. Been there. There were times when half a sandwich would fill me up for two days. Then when the food released, I was hungry enough to eat half cow. I would talk to a dr regardless. I had to learn…

Awesome. See, proof you can do it :)

Thank you, you have been added :)

Congrats! Wow. Look at you girl. Thank you for sharing your story. It is inspiring. Uplifting. And it gives hope to others.

Do a hobby you like. When your hands are doing something, you won't be wanting to eat. Hobbies are a great way to relieve stress as well as exercise. Call a friend or family member and chat while walking or marching in place.

I have hypothyroidism as well if you want to add me. I check in daily. since losing 30 lbs the dr has actually reduced my meds. Still have more weight to lose, but I am getting there. You can too.

1. determination 2. will power 3. healthy eating 4. exercise 5. support. Then you have to do the mental stuff. 1. remember weight fluctuates throughout the day. 2. it is a 1 day at a time process. 3. measure as well as use scales as you may lose inches and not a pound. 4. Don't eat over your calorie allowance for the day.…

Thank you so much. That is what I was thinking, but a second mind of knowledge is always reassuring.

Find a hobby you like : fishing, woodworking, playing an instrument, volunteer at a local library or school, quilting, crocheting ( what I do), knitting, painting, etc. there's tons of things you can do to are up some spare time so you aren't tempted for extra snacks. It depends on what you like and what you can do.

Awesome

You can do this. Remember you can't succeed at something if you don't start. So listen to the previous posts. Remember if you fall one day, you can get back up the next. This is Your journey. It is up to you to Your part. People will give suggestions, but you have to apply it. People will give positive words, but you need…

I weigh daily to monitor my water retention. But I only mark my weight on the 1st of the month and the day to day weigh ins I don't stress over it.

Here's to a healthier you. Healthy eating is a must , exercise of some sort is a must ( please make sure you get dr approval before you start). You can do this. Bad days will happen but you don't have to let them continue. Every day is a new day. Every day the choices are yours. Do I want to binge eat , do I want to really…

Meal prep will save time in the daily. Worth a try. I would have your blood levels checked and yes that includes thyroid. Just to make sure you aren't deficient in anything. For exercise, could you park at the longest distance from work doors and walk? Do the same when you go shopping. You'd be surprised at how many steps…

I am so overly excited about your progress, I am teary eyed. What an inspiration! Congratulations on the major loss. You are beautiful. Your story is very touching. I am speechless.
