I have a fitbit one and have it synced with MFP. Fitbit usually says I burn between 2500-3000 per day which seems about right based on how much I am losing per week. The fitbit one is just a step tracker, no heart rate. I don't do any "fitness" activity, I just walk. Usually 10,000-12,000 steps per day with most if it just…

Does anyone else find 4.5 lbs a week rather a too fast loss?

True but some people (not saying you) seem to have the idea that if we don't eat the animals they will just wander around in a blissful existence and that is just not true. If we don't eat them most will just not exist. I have a friend that is a cattle farmer and her cattle run around on their thousands of acres for most…

Well just the fact that she is 4 inches taller than you would allow her to eat more food as a taller person at the same weight needs more calories. Not a lot more calories but there is a difference.
-
Actually those animals would not exist as if they are not being bred for eating they will not be bred at all.

I drink a ton of water everyday and I still have water weight fluctuations. I just live with it.
-
If I walk more than usual I also gain water weight.
-
Well on some days I would give my kids away even without the chocolate!!
-
Every time I take Advil I gain about 2 lbs of water weight and it sticks around a couple of days. I have learned not to stress about it as it is not fat just water.

How much fiber is too much? I seems to get an average of 35-45 per day. Is that too high?
-
Knock on wood mine has been fine.
-
I don't agree that the fitbit step count to calorie burns are over inflated (the type you get via linking your fitbit to your MFP account). Mine seems to be pretty close and many other people report that too. However yes other burns are crazy high.

You do all realize that most of the digital scales that give the exact same reading time after time do that because they have a chip inside that tells the display that if the reading is within a certain amount of the last weight displayed to just display that same number again. It is not that your scale is that exact.

I think I might have confused you all with the way a stated it. Yes it starts adding calories but those calories at first just get me back to what FP would have called sedentary. For example sedentary for me is 1500 calories but when I get up in the morning FP has taken 135 calories away from that making my total 1365 as I…

MFP linked with fit bit does not give you step credit until you pass the sedentary mark. In fact when I get up in the morning MFP has removed calories from my sedentary allowance and gradually adds them in as a walk. I use the MFP numbers for my calories but by midnight they are pretty close to fitbit number.

My kids 20 years ago would never eat "baby" food or allow me to feed them. They wanted regular food that they picked up themselves and ate. Boy was it messy since I would only feed them very soft things but that is the only way they would eat.
-
What type of fitbit do you have and do you use it just for steps or for actual exercise?
-
I also set fitbit and mfp to a time zone 3 hours ahead of me so that when I am ready to go to sleep at night they both think it is midnight. I find that seems to make my calorie accounting work better since it is not changing after I go to bed. Otherwise I would go to bed with maybe 50 calories left and when I woke up in…

Not sure I am allowed to link to the web site. Do a search and you will find the company. Awesome pasta and cracker type items.
-
I love the items from Fiber Gourmet. Lots of fiber and less calories than the lower fiber equivalent.

Here appears to be a research study on this fat burn question. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15615615 Not sure how good a study it is though.

For the last 4 days or so my pacer is also not showing my steps on myfitnesspal. It did before. I have unlinked and relinked. Pacer sees info from myfitnesspal so I know they are linked. I think myfitnesspal is broken!
-
My pacer app on my phone stopped syncing with the web page yesterday too and it still down. I have unlinked and relinked several times.
-
Mine is still broken
-
yes I have the same issue. Pacer is seeing myfitnesspal but myfitnesspal is not adding in the steps.
