[quote="jenniferinfl;d-10827492"My spouse is annoyed that I'm not losing faster [/quote] Um. What??! No. Just no. Your rate of loss is perfectly fine and healthy and if you've found something that works for you then stick with it.

Indo it, only because I find it so interesting how much it can change throughout a day. I weigh and log every morning, and that's the only number I count. I just step on it once in a while because it's interesting to me.

Homemade chicken wings and veggies. Nice and simple as I'll have a house full of toddlers for the night!

Agreed! I've never drank them because I don't like the taste, and I much prefer to eat my calories. However I had a few friends who seemed to do well drinking them and they lost a little weight, but gained most of it back because they didn't learn good eating habits and proper portion control. If you like them then go for…

I eat over half my daily calories between supper and after supper snacks. It's when I am hungriest. I just plan my days around it.

I lost 70lbs and didn't see it. I went from a size 16 to a size 8 and still didn't see it. I spent 2 full years at that weight and didn't see it. What made me finally see it, was gaining weight during my pregnancies and seeing my body getting bigger again. It's like something clicked and I finally saw myself for how I am…

Wow, amazing transformation. Congrats!

70lbs down and 2+ cans of diet pepsi a day. I'm not giving it up for anything!

You'll probably skip by my reply completely because I'm going to talk about food scales, but I'm going to reply anyways because someone might get some use out of it. About five years back I decided I was ready to lose weight and joined MFP. I had a lot to lose and was sooo excited to get started and start seeing some real…

You also need a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound. So if you're maintenance calories truly are 2800 and you're eating 1200 calories, that puts you at a deficit of 1600 calories daily. (11,200 weekly) This would put you at a rate loss of 3.2 pounds per week. That's the basic math of it. I am of the thought process…

I eat between 1600-1700 to lose. Anything lower just isn't enough for my body. With that said, I am fairly tall and quite active. It all depends on your height, weight and activity level. My TDEE is between 2000-2200 daily.

Yes, thank you for saying this. That might be fine and easy in the beginning stages when there is a lot of weight to be lost.. but there's just no way someone who isn't obese can safely continue losing 10lbs a month.

I had back to back pregnancies and babies born 15 months apart. I gained 60lbs with my second! He's 14 months old and I'm back on track to losing it now that I'm done breastfeeding. I've got 22lbs to go until I'm back to prepregnancy. Welcome, MFP is a great tool to help!

Sorry, what's EM2WL?

I love this and agree with everything except #5. I see no issues rewarding my exercise with treats I wouldn't have eaten otherwise. I lost 70lbs with this mindset, so it works for me. Realistic goals and timelines is definitely the most important part for keeping on track.

I'm 5"7 and currently 195ish so very close! My starting weight was 242 and my lowest was 170. I gained a bit with back to back pregnancies and I'm so ready to get back to where I was. That's my first goal and then I'll adjust from there. I carry my weight weird, so I look much smaller than I am and am currently in a 8/10…

Starting weight as of this morning was 198.7.

Wow, very inspiring! Great work!

I reward myself with food all the time. I love food. I also agree with setting other rewards as well, like a new pair of jeans or a night to myself.. however I am all for rewarding myself with a pizza night when I've kicked butt and stayed on track for weeks. Looking forward to it helps keep me on track.

I don't think it was meant to excuse or justify anything. I think it was meant as an example that the difficultly level for weight loss and a healthy lifestyle is dependent on so many different things and the majority of people don't understand that sometimes there are so many more factors than just wanting to make a…

CICO. That's it. Just sticking within my goals. I'd be lying if I said any exercise I'm doing at this stage isn't solely so I can eat more calories.. It works for me though!

I'm in! I am Amanda from Western Canada. I first joined MFP in 2012 and lost 70lbs. I was able to maintain that for two years when I got pregnant. I had two babies back to back and am ready to lose the weight I gained in the process! I started a new MFP with a new starting weight and my first goal is to get back to my…

Way to go! Seeing and feeling progress is truly the best motivator.

I'm 28 and a mother of two boys ages 1 and 2. I'm always looking for more friends as well! I've done this once before and lost 70lbs, and I am so excited to get back at it and lose some of the baby weight I gained with back to back pregnancies.

I have a double as well but I just track it as regular walking.

Second all of this. A pound a week is great progress with those stats.
