Does anyone do meal replacement shakes? When i started I was drinking it for breakfast and lunch but I found myself sooo hungry by dinner. I started drinking it at lunch only. Should I continue drinking it only at lunch or alternate? Any advice at all id appreciate it !

I personally prefer to just eat food. Drinking my meals isn't particularly satisfying, nor do I find it satiating. I use a meal replacement very occasionally when I'm rushed for time and just have to go but still need my nutrition.

IMO, the issue with using them for multiple meals on the regular is that you don't really learn how to eat which is important to maintaining a healthy weight.

Agreed! I've never drank them because I don't like the taste, and I much prefer to eat my calories. However I had a few friends who seemed to do well drinking them and they lost a little weight, but gained most of it back because they didn't learn good eating habits and proper portion control. If you like them then go for it, but I don't think I'd replace two meals a day with them. I'd be starving by the evening and just end up on a binge and eating way more in the long run. Good luck!

Do what works for you. To lose weight, you just have to eat less. If you follow the calorie target MFP gave you at startup, you lose weight. You don't have to eat or drink or cut out anything in particular. Ask yourself: Does [what I'm doing] help me stick to my calorie allowance, in the long run? Do I feel happy and energetic? Do I like the taste and the feeling? Does it work well with my work, family and social life?

I'm in school right now so it's just easy to grab. I defiantly see what you guys are saying though. I just thought it would help my appetite get smaller I guess to take the next step of portion control and all that. I appreciate the advice!!

Figure out if that is an attitude that's going to help you, or if it even makes sense. Are you overweight because you don't have time to eat? Is it difficult to get something to eat, or is the problem actually that it is too easy?

Eating too little, and boring, food, doesn't make your appetite smaller, it makes it incontrollable.
If your long term plan is portion control (and all that - what is that?), why the detour?
