If you want to change your body comp you need to increase your protein intake. 1g per lbs lean body mass is a start.

I have a BMI of 20 and am about 22% body fat. My husband is obese. My physical attraction level doesn’t change when he gains or loses weight but he is definitely more fun when he is “on the wagon” and active.

Use a food scale and trust the process.

@VelvetTeddyX Nutrition is 90% of the battle. I do a cross between flexible dieting and Macros. Hitting my calorie and protein goals is a priority. I try to keep my carbs below 70g but my heart isn’t broken if I don’t make it. Try to eat 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass. My gym routine is: Run 30min 3X a week Run…

I just got a WeightGURUS scale and am at 22%. I don’t know what my percentage was before but I dropped from size 4-6 dress to 2. Size medium shirts to XS.

People are always looking for either quick fixes or a “scientific” reason why they are not to blame for their lack of self control.

Weightloss isn’t linear. Wait another 3 weeks before you judge. That first 12 was mostly water. 1-2lbs a week is typical.

So much sass! I love it.

I was naturally thin until I got a desk job. Gained 40lbs in 2 years

You look like a real life super hero! I have kept my old clothes in case I get some serious gains.

Yes, when you lose weight the amount of calories your body requires also decreases. Just like a car needs less gasoline than a truck. Your body runs more efficiently. Obesity has become so normalized many don’t recognize what a healthy weight is anymore.

I am 31 years old (in case that may be helpful to you). You may be able to get back to that place.

Which is why I felt the need to point out that I am genetically lucky when it comes to my frame. My shape may be an unrealistic goal to some women no matter how much they diet and exercise. My bodyfat% on the other hand took a LOT of hard work and being consistent with my nutrition and workout plan. Luck and genetics do…

My waist is 25inches and the result of a genetic lottery win. I do not do any special training for it.

Women are a lot less nice to me.

Your body doesn’t “hold on” to calories. You move less if your energy level is too low therefore will burn less calories. Plus you are just setting yourself up for a binge that will likely undo your deficit.

I thought I had skinny genes until I got a desk job and gained 40lbs in 2 years.

OP, I used to have the same issue. I got a food scale and discovered my logging was wayyyyy off. The weight fell right off after I logged accurately.

Starvation Mode isn’t real otherwise anorexics would be obese. Being hungry between meals is normal and healthy. It is your energy levels you need to care about. Your body will adjust to new eating patterns, be patient. The first 2 weeks suck.

You need a food scale not MLM BS

I drink a lot of tea and getting a single cup of hot water is very convenient. I usually drink instant coffee to save money.

I gained 40lbs after I got a desk job. I didn’t want to continue to replace my wardrobe. Plus I was embarrassed I tired out while playing with my niece.

I used to think I had skinny genes until I got a desk job and gained 40lbs in 2 years.

Using a food scale was a game changer for me. I was stuck in a plateau for over a year. Started using a scale and dropped 30lbs in about 15weeks.

You prioritize. I pretty much only watch tv on Sundays. Going to the gym is more entertaining than keeping up with mediocre shows.

http://archive.is/1xJpu ^Read this. If you are not loosing weight you are not in a deficit. Period.

Maybe you can join a gym and weightlift with her. Help her focus on fitness and setting fitness related goals instead of chasing numbers on a scale.

Can we put a bunch of these people that claim that they "workouts lot and eat 1000cal a day but cant loose weight"on a reality tv show and make them eat as much as they say they do while working out?

How did you get your 20% body fat measurement? From a Dexa Scan or a visual estimation?
