Agreed , I see it all the time... my guess ( just a guess) is that the Doc feels they are at a breaking point and need to immediately make changes to prevent serious health issues.

Yes, Jag (my co-worker) does not find it funny either, however he very open about talking about it. His disorder is strong enough cause memory loss and finds it hard to track when he's "not himself". He teases me that it's half the battle for me. I just found it interesting.

a lot of people don't eat back calories burned, including myself... it acts as a slight buffer for inaccurate logging and going over on my daily goals (for my self), If you feel good and not hungry your net looks good to me, but I am far from an expert just experienced.

Butt implants are trending now-a-days Lol JK ;) Some females gain a lot muscle quickly and get that round boots you seek when starting resistance training and others just get smaller and leaner, It will be up to your genetics I believe... let's hope you have the right ones :)

I think your question is getting over looked... there are lots of ways to increase your metabolism (most are not permanent) that can be incorporated into you journey day by day.
