hey there fellow veteran. stop focusing on your sodium, unless you have health issues with it. focus instead only on calories in vs calories out. With a focus on ensuring there is enough protein in it of course. The rest you can leave for when you have time and place to focus on it and do something about it.

yeah using measuring cups, you overeat by several hundred calories a day.. start weighing everything. if you can't weigh it all, then just eat less of those cups. and if that doesn't help, eat even less of them.

most of my daily meals are above 500 calories, so 2 great slices of pizza sounds really delicious. And more than good enough.

yeah i know, but it shows that it is possible to change metabolism, which is what i use from it. And it to me only helps validating what everything else shows. But it is a very bad research article... :smile:

yep. Some people do indeed have a worse metabolism. Just look at the research on some of those from "the biggest loser" coming out. They have to eat up to 800 calories lower than their "normal" caloric need. that is why i advice people to start at the "recommended" caloric need for a deficit, and adjust from there, as no…

of course you can... the amount you eat defines how fast you lose weight. so if your total with workouts are 3000 calories a day, you could eat 2500 calories and still be 500 negative. but if you only ate 1500 and burned 3000 you would lose weight faster. so it's up to you, what can you tolerate and how fast do you want it?

i'm a male, and i'm 5'11", 38 and 240lbs i think... sedentary and wanting to lose weight, i have to eat at 1500 or below. so no, you are not too low. Try it and see if it works. i have known more people that had to get down to 1000 calories to lose weight...

some people are pre-disposed for strong legs... maybe that is you... i also get huge thighs from doing almost nothing... where my upper body i have to work like a maniac to see any gains. you could accept that what makes you you, is among others your big legs. depends on the deficit you are trying to achieve. If you wanna hit 1500 calories a day, i suggest getting a fist worth of carbohydrates, and a palm full of protein, and then a thumb worth of something semi fatty... 3 times a day. that's the easy way to look at it in my eyes... works for me at least...

yeah they did a research a little while ago, where they had people eat at different times, 3 times a day, 6 times a day, and big meals.... and they found, there were no difference between either solution...
