Realizing I was only 3 pounds away from 200lbs!! I couldn't even blame on my pregnancies since I only gained 5 and 8lbs respectively in both pregnancies, it wasn't until AFTER the births and in the trenches of raising my kids from babyhood to preschooler that I gained 70lbs in the 5 year span.

it was a bottle of pinot Grigio; I had 2 glasses of wine....and at 6oz. I didn't pull that number out of thin number, but from the MFP database...generic white pinot Grigio.

I would love to join too! I'm short as a 5'3" with 62 pounds to lose, current weight is 188 from the starting weight at 197. I'm looking to get back down to 125-130 range.

That is true. You really highlighted on the fact people need to find their own sustainable plan, on that end it's mainly why I changed my goal from 2 pounds on 1200 daily calorie to 1.5 weekly with 1,360 daily calories. I'm hoping the new approach will help my snacking cravings and night hunger sometimes.

glad to know I'm not the only one here! I've lost 9 pounds since I came back to MFP little over a month ago, baby steps right?? I'm still having a hard time with night time snacking though so my solution most of the time is hitting bed early after I put my young kids to bed! it is working but same time, im falling behind…

I agree a lot of trackers and watches don't have the market on heart rate. I guess I am asking for a lot then, lol. since I rely a lot on logging in my food and calorie burns to get accurate count by the end of day. It's just those two functions im looking at.

ok, I think im leaning towards Garmin over Fitbit, but within Garmin I still can't decide which versions to go for; Vivoactive, Vívosport or one of the forerunners. im not a serious athletic or run in big marathons as the most I've run is the simple 5k so far. I do like to have a watch/tracker that a) accurately counts…

I do have an iPhone, so I am considering it. But it's more expensive than Fitbit or Vivoactive though, I think .
-
That is my biggest issue and why I've stuck with Fitbit for the last 4 years cuz I have a SMALL wrist and small hand. My ring finger size is only 5 to give you an idea. it just looks so bulky from the pictures. Any idea where one can look at the Vivoactive in person to try it on etc?

That is interesting. As my gym has a pool, and like to switch my workout days by alternating run/swim & weights/run for 4x a week. This is how I foreseen my pattern to continue for next few months and increasing to 6x a week by Spring. So I need a reliable tracker. That’s what confounding me is the reviews of Fitbit vs…

What is intriguing you about Vivoactive HR?

41, 61 pounds to lose too!

OP here, thanks all. I tried to respond to multi quote some of you, but it wouldn’t let me. My full stats when I restarted as myself as 40 year old, 5’3”, 198lbs pretty sedate lifestyle to lightly active, 2lbs a week. Exercise 2-3 a week with 1 mile jogging on my off gym days. Current stats is; 5’3”, 188lbs, lightly active…

how do you ensure your Fitbit IS synced correctly? as that is what I want, but even I'm not sure whether mine is synced despite saying it is connected to my FMP.
This kind of info is quite useful to me, especially as a newbie starting again with my FPM journey. That makes sense! As according to your formula, I gained 374 calories back from my 3 mile run…

Gotcha. That is precisely why I am asking. It actually makes sense, because I just logged in all my food I’m going to eat today. Will have 47 calories left and that’s before snacks and any night eating that I tend to fall into. No wonder I’m not losing any weight, which I knew realistically.
-
It’s my first day back on MFP after long hiatus from my summer of 2016. I agree with most that eating under 1200 isn’t substainable and I have a feeling my 761 exercise is inaccurate since I didn’t work out that hard yesterday, only ran for 3.miles over duration of 30 mins. It’s also a technical issue with my Fitbit not…

Would love to be added too! I’m on 1,200 calorie per day and love to get ideas what to stock my fridge and pantry. Lunch and snacks seem to be my biggest struggle.
-
Hey all, such a great group! Not new to MFP, but fell off the scene and wagon completely and gained 10 additional unwanted pounds on top of my existing pounds I needed to lose. Just turned 41 2 weeks ago, mom of 2 small kids. My new goal is to lose 55 pounds but it felt so overwhelming to see that big number. I’ve now…

Gotcha. I do mostly combo of cardio strength, weights and rowing. So for weights and cardio strength, manually input? I really don't want to over estimate the calories burned if it's already taken in account.
-
i'll try that. Although, today i was very close to my calorie target of 1,330 with 1,270 calories consumed-653 calories from exercise netting me 584 calories. I actually feel quite full this evening after dinner below my max calorie intake, hence having a hard time imaging whether i can consume 1,330 daily plus 50% of my…

thanks! that seemed to do the trick, so now it's showing my fitbit calorie adjustment-the calories burned between MFP and fitbit seem to be close, only 136 calories in adjustment.
-
thanks all! turns out this morning after waking up, my legs didn't feel too bad compared to yesterday. so i told my trainer and he was good, still pushed me but worked on my upper body. Friday i'll do whole body, granted it's only day 3 but it does feel easier as day goes by to hit the gym.

Usually I agree. The nutritionist was an extra service from my primary doctors, barely gave me a quick run down based on my stats, and the amount I told her I wanted to lose.
-
i think my numbers are skewered, as of now in my exercise diary with under calorie adjustment, its showing me xx calories from under armor tracker...but i disconnected that. i just set my fitbit as the device to track my steps and any other physical activity. help?
-
i went to my pc and it turns out my fitbit wasn't linked all along! i had apparently an old MFP account that was linked to my fitbit, instead it was linked to my Under armor account for activity intake. I deleted the OLD mfp account and disconnected the UA app, and relogged in my new current MFP account and linked my…

Add me please! I only just started Monday! I'm 39, will hit the big 4 0 this November. Current weight: 187.4 GW: 125lbs

Very helpful advice! Thank you! My 1,330 calorie intake is without any form of activity and exercise factored in. What site did you use to figure out your base calorie intake? If you don't mind my asking. I'll follow my nutritionist advice, but want to run her numbers against reputable sites for comparison sake. Honestly,…

Ok. To be sure, I want to double check my numbers. How do I find my TDEE for per day?
Have you had it for 30 days yet? If you have there will be a 30 day average on your Fitbit profile page (on the website...not in the app). There is also an average intake number. Once you have been using both for 30 days you can…
