Legs hurt-personal trainer tomorrow?

So I just started my new gig with mfp, Fitbit and signed up 3 months worth of one to ones with my personal trainer. First session was Monday, and imo he didn't really push me hard.
Just had me do warm ups with lots of stretching, bit of circuit training, cardio and winded down in last 5 doing Dumbbells while walking several lengths of the gym.
My legs hurt whenever I get up from sitting and climbing any stairs. Upper thighs feels "hard" upon touching. I have another session tomorrow, and I read that first week or two endure lots of growing pains then no pain.
Would like to hear from regulars with gym what's best approach? Tell trainer to take it easy on me tomorrow? Skip and do something else? What? I'm committed to this this time as I usually stop after first few days because of this very issue. So whenever I start up again, it'll be back to square one anyway! Really just want to push through this but don't want to overdo either!

I'm sure the trainer is used to clients with DOMS. Doesn't sound like you've got all that bad of a case - you hit it and get it.1

Push through it. Tell your trainer you have DOMS, he/she will lighten the load a bit, or ditch that exercise plan and do something totally different. You can exercise through it and may even get some temp relief, but your soreness will only be eliviated by recovery over the next day or two.
After your body adapts to the exercising, especially being first time, the pain will subside. But keep in mind when you push your body (i.e. legs) the next go around, you may end up with some soreness again. Some people are more prone to DOMS than others. However if you are strength training, adding more weight the next week and the next, may lead to soreness.
You stated you are committed (in your OP) as you usually stop after a few days.. keep that mentality and do not stop. Communicate with your trainer. He/she is there to not just exercise you, but to work with you and your body in order to provide you the best and sustainable exercise that suits you.0 -
Be honest with your trainer tomorow and you can work out using other muscles. They only have your best interest in focus and will be able to tell you if the pain you are experiencing is normal or if you need to take things a little slower0

Is it the muscles that are sore? Does the pain seem to lessen after you've moved around some?
If so, that's just DOMS and generally will be less and less painful as you get more fit. Staying active on your off days tends to help - making sure you get up and walk throughout the day, doing something like yoga and/or foam rolling.
I would definitely let your trainer know how you're feeling so he/she can adapt tomorrow's routine if needed. If you're hurting significantly, always say something.

Get back into the gym and own that workout!! You'll get your body used to the work and the soreness will fade. It just means that you have taken the first steps of a long journey towards your goals! Keep up the good work!0

thanks all! turns out this morning after waking up, my legs didn't feel too bad compared to yesterday. so i told my trainer and he was good, still pushed me but worked on my upper body. Friday i'll do whole body, granted it's only day 3 but it does feel easier as day goes by to hit the gym.0
