Great thread. :) I don't typically get a larger appetite during my menstrual cycle. I eat what I always eat and I don't go over my calorie limit. And as far as water retention, I don't notice that either. I weigh myself once every two weeks and never when I'm on my period. I wait 4-5 days after maybe longer if needed just…

189,700 :) Wow that's a lot and so much more to go.

I do feel satisfied after drinking a shake. I don't know about other people but I do. :)
-
Well...then I guess I'm good. :) I get so confused because so many people have different opinions about the subject and I don't know who's right and who's wrong. But I'm just going to stick with what I got because it works for me and I think that's all that matters.

I've used chocolate pb2 powder. I didn't like the taste. Although when I tried it that way I had also added spinach with it. So maybe that's why it tasted off. I'm trying to find a good nut butter that's low in fat and carbs. Any ideas? I've tried sunflower seed butter which is good. But need other options.

It has 279 calories, 26g of protein, 18g carbs and 13g of fat. And to answer the question above I add egg whites to boost the protein because my protein powder only has 16g per scoop. Someone told me that wasn't enough and suggested I add the egg whites. :)

So if I eat between 1200-1300 calories a day and burn let's say 200 calories then I would need to eat that 200 calories back? If so what should I eat? That's an issue I'm having. I usually exercise after breakfast or right before lunch after I've eaten a snack.
-
It's about 27-28g of protein. My protein powder itself only has 16g of protein. I was told that wasn't enough protein. So I added the egg whites. I'm not trying to bulk up really. I don't want a lot of muscle. So should I take out the egg whites?
-
Actually I just checked the nutrients in my shake and it says there's 11g of fat and 18g of carbs. Is that not good enough?

I'm hoping someone can answer this for me. I've been using my protein shake as a meal replacement for breakfast. But according to someone I need to add more fat and carbs in order for it to be a meal replacement. I've added 2 egg whites and 2 tbsp of pecan chips to it since I last posted this topic. What can I do to boost…

Plain yogurt? It sounds like it'd be good. I've got two of those ingredients. I'll have to get the other ones though.
-
My shake usually consist of: 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder 1c unsweetened vanilla almond milk 2Tbsp pecan chips 6-7 frozen strawberries 2 egg whites If I'm not adding enough carbs or fat, what can I add to make it a meal replacement?
-
@LAURAleem2112 I'll check that out. I do have chocolate pb2 powder but the taste doesn't appeal to me.
-
Unfortunately on here I can't lower it without raising something else. Like carbs or fat which are 122 for carbs and 47 for fat.
-
That sounds delicious. I've been trying to find some good low fat crackers. I've never tried hummus though. Does it taste good?
-
I've been using egg whites and it's been great. It boost the protein to 27g. That'll do for now until I get a better protein powder.
-
My macros on here are set to where I'm eating 122g of protein. I didn't realize that was too high. As I'm not trying to gain a lot of muscle. If I gain a little that's fine but I don't want to gain too much. So are you saying 60 would be a better range for me?
-
I usually drink my protein shakes in the morning as a meal replacement for breakfast. But as far as the other stuff I'll try it. Cottage cheese however is high in sodium and I have to watch my intake of that. But I love Greek yogurt. I'll probably get some more of those 100 calorie ones. :)
-
Ooh I'll definitely check that out. More Protein and less carbs is always good. :)
-
@CMB1979 I'll definitely do that. I prefer more of an ice cream texture I suppose. And I usually use 6 strawberries. But I'll add more when I use tofu. Thanks. :)
-
I'm new to protein powder. But that definitely sounds yummy. I'll have to go by my local vitamin shoppe and see if I can't find the chocolate peanut butter one. I'm going to try different ones to see which one I'll stick with. And yes I'll add you. :)
-
I will definitely have to check that out. :)
-
I tried egg whites and it's great. I don't taste them at all. I will need to invest in a better protein powder though because mine is a bit chalky tasting. Maybe I'm not blending it enough? I don't know. But it's progress as far as adding protein. I'll try the tofu as well. Who knows I may like it. :)
-
I have no issue with soy. But I've never tried tofu. Thought it might taste odd. Definitely worth a try though. Couldn't hurt. Thanks. :)
-
Thanks for the advice. Definitely don't want food poisoning. :)
-
I thought about that. I was afraid it would taste bad. But I'll definitely try this. Thank you. :)
-
Sorry yes I meant one scoop. I bought it because it was low carb. Next time I'll shop around a bit before I settle.

Congratulations. You look amazing.
