  • Hi!, I joined My Fitness Pal to lose weight, but I know a thing or two about gaining it as well. Before choosing foods to consume, you must decide how many calories to consume. You are absolutely correct, 1400-1500 calories are nowhere near enough kcals for the day. How active are you? There are many free calorie…
  • Thank you @KnitOrMiss for bringing up that valid point. I have been strict keto since July 27th and I am not off any of my meds yet. We have to be careful when offering any type of medical advice to people. Everyone is different, Everyone will respond differently, and keto isn't for everyone.
  • I am currently 30+ min/day 5-6 days per week. Not counting any regular life/work activities. Unless I am deep cleaning my house. Down on my knees scrubbing floors, moving furniture, shampooing carpets etc. I am not sure what exercise does to help put me into ketosis. Never really thought about it, to be honest.
  • Hi Karen! Welcome! Feel free to add me.
  • RIGHT!! I went shopping with my daughter on September 28th for her birthday. Her favorite clothing store is Torid and we have a store at the mall close to my house. Of course they have a clearance rack. I make a bee-line to these really nice clothes (my first visit ever). I find a pair of jeans and try them on. They fit…
  • I agree with @RalfLott the launch pad is full of great resources. I spent hours in there. As you are reading through the launch pad, don't forget to log everything you eat. Be selective when choosing foods from the database. There will be 12 entries for "tomatoes raw sliced" and each one had different carb amounts. I try…
  • AWESOME!!! Great pics.
  • My favorite go-to soup is: Beef Vegetable: {6-quart crockpot} 2lb browned and drained ground beef 2 cans basil, garlic oregano diced tomatoes 2 cans mixed veggies (do not drain) 3.5-4 tbsp beef bouillon powder 2 tsp black pepper Water to cover Add all ingredients to the crockpot except water. Mix well to incorporate the…
  • I'm gonna throw my 2 cents into the pot. I have been keto since July 27th 2017, I have been working out 4-6 days per week since August 30th. I have not lost a single pound. In fact, I have gained a pound. Am I going to quit? No. If low carb/keto is the way you want to go, then go it for the long haul. I know I am making a…
  • [*] Hi everyone. I don't have any after pic's yet, but I do have my before/now pick... These were taken 10/19/2017.* [/list][/b]
  • Please do not eat entire spoonfuls of mayo, or butter, or any kind of fat... I agree with Sunny_Bunny_ that is not what keto is. I do enjoy butter and MCT oil in my morning coffee, but I use that as my breakfast most of the time. Avocado, nuts, heavy cream, eggs, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, are just a few of the…
  • Holy crow! Those look amazing.... my mouth is watering now. Where can I find the recipe?
  • how are the cravings now?
  • awesome nvmomketo
  • This is my motto where scales are concerned: "The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him." Proverbs 20:23... Like I always say the Bible is like Ragu, it's in there  And thus the reason I avoid scales at all costs (until my dr. makes me weigh)
  • I am a member at a cardio boxing/kickboxing gym. I go 5-6 times per week. Cardio can be done 7 days per week. Strength training every other day. Listen to your body, I would suggest taking at least one day off for rest and recoup and to avoid burnout. Some weeks I take Sat and Sun off others I take Sun off. This week is a…

  • Hi, Disney50Girl. Yes, I believe this WOL is forever. I am a huge pizza nut and Butter Pecan ice cream is my fav. But since beginning keto, I haven't wanted either of them. I am not sure why, but one of my favorite candies has always been candy corn. Well, the office where I have been working this week has a dish full on…
  • Are you guys familiar with the low carb group here on MFP? I am keto too. 36 days now!! I am always looking for new friends who are serious about keto.
  • I don't count calories, I only count carbs and I make sure my fat grams are more than my protein grams. I eat anywhere from 1250-1600 cal a day based on what my diary says and I have homemade buttered coffee every morning with my breakfast. I will soon be adding MCT oil to my coffee/salad's too
  • Type 2 diabetic here. Ketogenic W.O.L. My goal is to consume less than 30g per day. Once I reach my goal weight I will change to a maintenance of no more than 50g per day. Blood sugars are well under control and will be reducing meds at Dr.'s appt on Oct. 16th. Hope this helps.
  • It could be, if you have cut out all sugars, and then introduced even small amounts it may have triggered the "sugar" cravings. What I have found helps when/if sugar cravings hits, is if I have a buttered coffee or a fat bomb, the sugar craving disappears. I don't know the science behind it, but I think the two are linked…
  • That's awesome!! Congratulations on the weight loss and finding the support from someone in the medical profession. They are few and far between. And kudos to you for sticking to your guns even though family/friends aren't being as supportive as they could be. ***happy dancing*** with you
  • SUN: 10/1: Logged:  Water:  Electrolytes:  Carb Goal:  (BELOW 50 PER DAY GOAL) Exercise: SUNDAYS ARE OFF DAYS  NO SMOKING:
  • I pretty much eat the same types of food every day. Breakfast is always buttered coffee, eggs and breakfast meat (bacon/sausage) Lunch is a salad with the same toppings except the meat which could be pork steak, cubed steak, round steak, chicken thighs cooked in butter. and then dinner if I eat dinner is usually a salad,…
  • Not sure if you are a coffee drinker, but adding a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of heavy cream will raise the calories in your coffee to I think something like 170ish, maybe a litle more. The fat content will be around 16grams I think. This is a great way to add fat calories, stave off sugar cravings, and I use it…
  • NS victories for the week: 1) Hit the gym hard after 2-week knee injury recovery 2) Did not carb out at daughters birthday party (did not even want bread or dessert). 3) Manned the front desk at a busy clinic by myself for most of the week and did not have a single panic attack. 4) Have listened to nightly meditation each…
