@JedsMom63 I measured when I first started (mid-July) and then again this morning. So, a month in between. And I know I should have been happy with the 9 pounds I've lost, but I was letting Pinterest/Reddit claims of 20 pounds the first month get the better of me. Never again! :p

I'm a pretty adventurous eater but, when it comes to the daily grind, I'm all for simple. Don't laugh: Most of my meals this past month have included garlic chicken thighs. I have a batch made at all times. I'll occasionally have eggs or shrimp but - 9 times out of 10 - my protein source is that chicken paired with LC…

I actually just looked at a small tub of mascarpone in Trader Joe's today. Didn't get it because I couldn't think of what to put it on. I half wondered if I could scoop out a little, add a drop of stevia and a sprinkling of cinnamon, and call it a dessert. I love kimchi, too. As for sauerkraut? I grew up Polish...let's…

Actually, though, I just re-read the recipe and realized that I do equal parts butter and coconut oil. Ooops.

@Richie120 It's this recipe: http://www.butterisnotacarb.com/chocolate-fat-bombs/ Just make sure you use salted butter...it makes all the difference. I hope you like them! :)

I'm also ADD, but currently unmedicated. I was on Adderall XR for years. I went off of it because I was experiencing some situational anxiety (surrounding a breakup) and felt being on a stimulant was making it worse. Every few months I toy with the idea of going back on, but I've found that cutting out sugar has had a very…

I'm having a hard time getting my fat in, too. I feel like I'm eating enough, but at the end of the day I'm always 50 grams or so short of my target. @Richie120, you may be surprised how easy it is to cover the taste of the refined version with a few other ingredients. My boss is a "supertaster" and hates the taste/smell…

I can taste the difference between regular and diet in an instant, too. Artificial sweeteners tend to trigger my migraines, so I learned very young to detect them. But, I hear you on the hidden carbs. I can't tell you how many times I order a burger plain and have it come out dripping with ketchup. Or order an iced coffee,…

I made a low carb version of my grandmother's rice casserole. I believe she got the original recipe off the side of a CheezWhiz jar in the '60s. :D Classic ingredients are: white rice, canned cream of mushroom soup, onions, cubed Velveeta, and Cheez Whiz. I switched it up by combining riced cauliflower, mushroom soup,…

I've totally done this. I also used to order two drinks whenever I grabbed a pizza or Chinese takeout, just so the cashier wouldn't make the assumption that I was eating it all myself. I do find it a lot easier to control the binges on LCHF. But, when I cheat (which usually involves a celebration or social event), look…

Two organic all-beef hot dogs, Kosciusko mustard, sliced cucumbers, ranch dressing, and a huge bottle of water. Not the healthiest, but it's fast, easy, and takes up very little room in the work fridge. ;) What's disappointing is that I didn't realize how high in carbs cucumbers are. Unpeeled are 10 grams, and peeled are…

Yikes. I definitely have side effects, but nothing like that. Topamax left me unable to feel my feet, hands, and face. It also made it difficult for me to recall words when speaking. I actually went back to the neurologist because I thought something was seriously wrong and he said, "No, that's the Topamax."

Hi, ladies. I've been planning my life around migraines since my teens. If you're getting them weekly, you should really investigate a daily preventative. Unfortunately, none of them are without side effects. I've been on Topamax and am now on Depakote. Both are unpleasant, but stop the headaches (almost) entirely. I've…

Same boat (only I have more to lose). Let's do this!

Hi, all. I just started today, too. 90+ to lose and I've gotta start somewhere. I've just added all of you. Thanks!
