Can I come with you? :D

*gasp* Say it isn't so! I feel for you, dear. :)

Thanks for all the great ideas! I'm going to try a few this weekend. :)

Not necessarily faster healing, but my allergies were not nearly as bad this winter. Normally I take OTC antihistamines for three or four months, but this past winter I think I took them two or three days. Yes, days. When your body doesn't have to fight the onslaught of all the carbs, it can do what it was designed to do,…

I'm game. A bag of gummi bears says 5.1! :D

I saw the title of the thread and thought someone had developed a lab test to determine if you're really an adult or not. I was sweating bullets!

Should we start a pool? :p

Does the sugar content of kombucha have an adverse effect on BG levels? I like kombucha, but have been hesitant to drink it regularly because of my T2D.

Wow, @wozy46 thank you for bumping this! Just last night I had trouble sleeping due to reflux. It was good to be reminded about ACV, and good to know that some fats can be the culprit.

Grass fed butter (butter made from the milk of grass fed cows) is higher in nutrients like Omega-3 fatty acids and CLAs. If you can't fit it in your budget, then regular butter certainly won't harm you. But if you can get it, it does have its benefits.

I think stomping and tantrum throwing count as aerobic exercise. ;)

@laurenj915 we have a whole group devoted to low-carb recipes here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/112055-the-low-carb-high-fat-recipes-group-lchf

My boss just asked me last week when I would bring in another batch of my maple-glazed oatmeal bacon cookies. *sigh* The things we sacrifice when going low-carb. . .

Been there, done that, many times. :D The important thing is that we pull ourselves back up and give it another try. Let's all kick some *kitten* here!

Friend request sent. :)

Yup, wincing in pain. I hope they got it all in one take!

Thank you for this!

@EbonyDahlia I get where you're coming from. On his website, Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt says many times, "Eat when you are hungry, until you are satisfied." Sounds simple, right? You eat low carb, high fat foods when you're hungry, and stop eating when you're not hungry any more. Unfortunately, a lifetime of bad eating habits…

So true! I could drink bulletproof coffee all day, but at 200 calories each that would not leave room in my day for any other food if I'm hoping to stick close to 1400/day. So those are limited to one per day. I'm looking forward to the Meativore May challenge, as it is harder for me to overeat meat than other foods. I've…

Thanks for the helpful feedback. @kpk54 I know I'm eating too much candy. Once I put that first bite in my mouth, I keep going back and going back for more. The good news is that I got a standing desk about a month ago, so no more sitting on my *kitten* all day. I just need to stop the sweets! As for tracking…

Do push-ups. Strengthening your pectoral muscles keeps the girls nice and perky. ;)

I giggled when I read your post. You need to read this: https://whole30.com/2012/08/carrot-train-to-crazytown/

Why not? As much as I love my veggies, they are not loving me these days. :)

This. I'm wondering if they mixed your test results up with someone else's! :o

I had my gallbladder out in 2015, discovered LCHF in June 2016, and have had no digestive issues with fat. I can't do spicy like I used to, which is a bummer, but fat doesn't cause issues. Maybe it's one of those YMMV things.

Bump for those who may not have seen this yet. It starts on Monday.

You've only been "stuck" for a couple weeks. I'd say give it time, a few more weeks, and see what happens. Your body may be trying to heal another area besides weight.

You don't necessarily have to avoid alcohol at these events unless you want to. Most liquors have zero carbs, so tequila on the rocks with a twist is my go-to beverage for work happy hours. I just have to be careful that the inhibition-lowering effect of alcohol doesn't lead me to indulge in the garlic fries or potato…

I'm so happy for you!! Now that you have found a WOE that can give you the weight loss you are seeking, you have choices available to you. Whether you decide to still have the surgery, or simply stick with the lifestyle/WOE change, you can make the decision with confidence. Way to go!!

If she doesn't mind science, I found Dr. Jason Fung's book The Obesity Code to be a fascinating look at diabetes and why we get fat and stay fat. I also enjoyed New Atkins for a New You, as it does a good job of explaining what you should be eating and why. One of these days I'll have to read Keto Clarity, but I still have…
