  • I am 5ft 7" so I can't relate height-wise but I would suggest you think of it in 5 pound increments. I never plan on a set amount each week. Some weeks you may lose nothing and others more than what you had anticipated. For me it was never so much as weekly losses but how did I do looking back over a month.
  • Horrible weekend. This house arrest is starting to get to me. Running out of time consuming projects and thus have too much free time to over eat. Must get my thoughts back inline.
  • @mor72. So sad to hear your corona story. Hopefully you and your hubby will come out of this as good as before. Stay strong and know that others are thinking of you.
  • 4/22 Still back on track, albeit not a very low carb one. Decided this is my new normal for now and I just have to deal with it. Calories are low enough to keep weight stable and activity comes and goes with the weather! We all just have to accept what we have going on now and work with it as best we can. Would love to see…
  • 4/19 Slowly getting back to activity and mindfulness. Once I get derailed it takes some time to jump on board again, but I think I am back.
  • 4/16 Baked cookies yesterday so we know what happened there: love the cookie batter. Resolved to start over today. Am running out of household projects and the temperature outside has dropped back to 32 degrees in the morning. So what I am doing is blaming everything for my complete lack of mindfulness :( Can't believe I…
  • @weatherking2019 My house has never been so clean, but does it count if no one comes to witness it?? Somehow, in a weird way, I feel cheated? :) Like cleaning before a holiday, but there is no holilday.
  • 4/10 Have been struggling a bit. I would classify everything as "mediocre." Start the day ok but toward the evening I lose grip a little. Monday I am having someone come to estimate a price for a small portion of fencing. Never thought I'd be looking forward to an estimate, but it is someone on the property besides hubby…
  • 4/8 Back on track exercise wise (or as good as it gets during pandemic) but struggling a bit with calories/carbs. Nothing too bad but I need to get back to "mindful March" and reinforce those rules.
  • 4/6 House cleaning has been my exercise the last few days. I really think it is becoming more mentally tiring than physically. What did I touch after grocery run, totally wipe down car, door knobs, counters, faucets, etc. Wish my house just had an internal sprayer that would cover everything in one shot!! :) Today is…
  • I am in VA, as well. Glad that our governor ordered stay at home until June 10th. However, was amazed at Walmart yesterday, that so many citizens are not using any PPE. Seriously??
  • 4/5 Made a grocery run early this morning. Was able to finally buy a few paper products in Walmart at 7:15am. Didn't hoard, just a package of paper towels and one of tp. Have to think ahead until June 10th state shut down. Was amazed at Walmart employees not wearing any PPE! Am able to keep at or under calories but a…
  • 4/3 So far April has been ok. Still room for improvement re calorie counting. Just barely under all of my limits. Since I am close to goal I need to lower calories a bit but have been resistant. My head understands but my mouth doesn't. :( Still no paper products or bacterial soap/wipes in my area so I keep on truckin with…
  • 4/1 Exercise was good today, calories were mediocre. I think I can do a little better and will try to push myself these next few days.
  • @vkrenz 8.5lbs is fantastic. Congratulations!!!
  • 3/31 Ending month of Mindful March with a 2lb loss. Looking forward to Active April Challenge. I live in an area with very little flat walking surfaces so I must get creative with my outdoor walking. Other than hubby, haven't seen anyone other than a weekly run through the local grocery store. Thank goodness for texting…
  • 3/27 Still pretty mindful: walked outside for exercise, kept calories in check; a little too high on carbs but not outrageous! Talked on phone to a friend who managed to lose 2lbs during this quarantine. Cheered her on! Maintaining some sort of home schedule seems to work. Glad to see the sun out today, it brightens my…
  • 3/23 & 24 One perfect day (23rd) and one miserable day (24th). Stress eating on the 24th due to watching too much media coverage!! Committed back to mindfulness today. Recorded some movies so I'll have something to watch for several hours at a clip. Friend texted me she was cleaning her china cabinet which is a several…
  • 3/22 Have been pretty mindful at mealtime. Though they are not exceptionally low in carbs, (due to store shortages) they have been low enough in calories.
  • 3/19 Have stayed at home since Tuesday, and then today had to take hubby to doctor for a blood test that is absolutely necessary (has bone marrow disease). They took our temps before letting us in the medical building. Was pleasantly surprised to see the waiting room quite empty. Pumped gas with a double plastic glove on…
  • 3/17 Yes, this virus is causing an abrupt change in our life style. Did go to coffee shop on Sunday with one friend. Stayed to ourselves in a corner. Shop fairly empty. Will visit with one friend today and just socialize with a decent distance between us. I need some minimum amount of socialization besides texting for my…
  • 3/13 So far so good with my current plan. Will not step on scale for awhile as it takes time for that machine to kick in. :) Mindful of being hungry vs just liking the taste of something seems to be helping. Time will tell in the long run. Went to library for Beck book but living in small town Virginia doesn't help. None…
  • 3/11 Did pretty good the last two days. Have decided that I am to be mindful of eating when not really hungry and when hungry, eating past satisfaction. If I can achieve mindfulness in those two areas, I believe the carb/cal thing will fall into place naturally. (At least that's my plan for now. :)
  • @brenn24179 : Congratulations on your winter loss. I will look for that book in the library as well.
  • MFP has soooo many diverse groups, you may just want to pop into another one. Good luck on your journey.
  • @nicsflyingcircus : Good idea about freezing the Truffles, must try that.
  • 3/8 Started yesterday in a good place but then everything (food wise) went haywire. Today I'm doing ok. I seem to have a pattern of several consecutive good days and then a horrible crash, all of which leaves me weighing exactly the same. I must be mindful of that and break through those crash days.
  • Diet Doctor was one of the first sites I found re LCHF. I do think it provides a wealth of information for beginners and a free one month trial of the site lets you have access to all their information.
  • 3/5 Have been a little over on both carbs/cals but not too excessive. Exercise has been on point. Need to concentrate more on carbs/cals but hate tracking. It seems so unnatural and I really want to use portion size and hunger awareness as my guides.
