  • Well, three days into March and I am on point. But then I always start off good with these challenges and lose momentum as the month progresses. Hopefully I can change that this month. I am trying to be more mindful of the carb/calorie count in what I eat as I think in the past I was under estimating those counts. At least…
  • I am on board for March mindfulness. My mind seems to always be filled with way too many topics, problems, projects, etc. I will try mindfulness on: being satisfied with less food, regardless of it being a carb, fat or protein! enjoying the fact that I have plenty of time to work out mindful that I have the time to enjoy a…
  • 2/23 Gym time as planned, probably because I have a workout partner and I hate to let her down. Carbs and calories went haywire, AGAIN. Looking at the calendar, I would have been near goal by the end of the month if I had stuck to the program. May have to come up with a March Madness goal. :(
  • 2/18 Spent time in gym last two days, so at least I feel good about that. Downloaded a free book on sugar addiction. It is located on sugaraddiction.com, if anyone is interested. Thought it might help me with my intense sweet tooth.
  • 2/17 Had a horrible binge day (can't even remember which day) and then went back to the stated goals. Don't understand what sets that off every once in a while. Could be sister eating everything in sight and losing two pounds easily? However I'm back on track and threw out some carby things lurking in the pantry. My…
  • 2/13 Have been trying some new recipes lately, mostly keto-based. Although my stated goal was under 50, trying for Keto (20 or less) seems to be keeping me more focused. Would love to be at my pre-holiday weight by the end of the month. Struggling a bit drinking enough water, so am adding broth and bouillon to the mix Will…
  • 2/10 Met most of my goals, got in a gym workout, kept calories and carbs in control, back to IF. Since today was so rainy, I decided to spend some time on meal prepping. Always seem to run out of something I need, but all in all wasn't too bad. Have a few social engagements this week (my downfall) but hopefully I'll find…
  • Lost one pound today at weigh-in, probably water weight but I'll try to keep positive. This week I plan to take a harder stand and watch BOTH carbs and calories. (I hate to do this, but I have to get rid of 5lbs of holiday weight.) In the past I would let 5lbs stay and eventually it always grew to 25!!!
  • Also found a free downloadable PDF of "Never Binge Again". Don't know if I possess an inner "Pig" but it might be worth glancing over.
  • I have no monthly excuse. :( I will look at the book you mentioned.
  • 2/7 Had a blip yesterday evening, was supposed to do IF but broke down outside of my eating window. Tonight I am determined to do better. Weigh-in for me will be tomorrow morning before breakfast. Hoping for a slight downward change, but who knows.
  • @baconslave : I, too, can overeat on any diet plan. I know there is a lot of talk re fat having a satiety factor but I have never noticed it. It helps me to talk to myself i.e. "you ate enough for the day" or "how badly do you want to reach goal weight?" (a food program really starts in the brain), and keep busy and…
  • Any idea of the carb or calorie count?
  • 2/5 & 2/6 Rain and fog both days, so far. Dreary is the word of the day! Stayed at or close to carb/calorie counts. Missed gym due to other appointments, will have to squeeze in extra time over the weekend.
  • 2/4 Ate out with friends but managed to stay under calorie limit. Probably a little over carb limit but not too disastrous. Let's see how today goes.....
  • So far (okay, it's only been 3 days) I've met all of my goals.
  • Stress can make me run to carbs. It might be the same in your case. I usually find if I up my protein at each meal I do a little better in keeping the carbs under control. Sometimes I go really low carb for a few days to lose that craving for sugar/flour products. I know that stress is a part of life and I try to deal with…
  • I truly understand the caregiver stresses. They have pushed me into many a cookie binge. I now try to relax more and de-stress with friends rather than food.
  • Still only tipping my toes in the carnivore pool, but a few days a week is doable for me.
  • Yesterday was a bit of a struggle, but I managed to dispose of some junk hidden in the cupboards. This morning I shopped for low carb food and re-dedicated myself to that woe. I have no super bowl parties to attend so I score on that point!
  • I think I need a February challenge. I will keep my goals simple: carbs 60 or less, gym workout at least 3x/week, keep an eye on calories but not obsessively and cut my eating window down to 8 hrs. when possible. Sounds doable as I type it, but time will tell.
  • Never really dropped out, but stopped posting for awhile. So I'm back again. It really helps me to read the posts and contribute when I can.
  • Rib eye all the way. Not rare, but medium.
  • Fiber One cereal with sunflower seeds/nuts mixed in. Magnesium did nothing for my problem, neither did drinking more water. We all have to find what works best for our own bodies.
  • Love Spanish peanuts. Hard to stop eating, however.
  • For myself, I can maintain doing Keto and not counting. To lose, I must do LCHF and count!
  • I agree with above, first thing to try is to stop munching after dinner. Create a new routine, do something to keep busy and keep mind off the old, bad habit of after dinner snacking. Good luck, you can do it!
  • @kpk54: You have described me (and probably many more) exactly!!
  • @brenn24179 Glad you are having such success! Maintenance can be hard if we get lazy about it. Seems you have a plan that working!
  • @canadjineh My reaction exactly! Blessings on her!
