Fabulous! Keep it up.

Welcome. You sound as if you are ready to roll!

@solska : The "magic tip" you asked for is inside your mind. Do you want to change or do you want to remain "as is"? It is your choice and I know you can do it. <3

Good for you! It's like a whole new world has opened up! (a lighter one!)

Ditto all of the above. Try using just olive oil as a salad dresing for problem #1. Also though not a laxative, anything containing sugar alcohols (Atkins bars) has the same effect for most people but proceed with caution!

I have no personal experience with this, but just want to send good thoughts your way! Certainly massage and compression garments can't hurt the situation. Many years ago there was a televsion documentary and those were the only two items mentioned in the program.

You have to realize that we all eat off plan at times, and don't beat yourself up about it. Just use your thoughts (mind, logic, whatever) to jump back onto the plan. For me, the longer I am off plan, the harder it is for me to get back on. You seem to have reached your "good spot" and are willing to do whatever necessary…

As said above, the key is what do you feel comfortable sticking with? I have to watch both calories and carbs in order to lose. I also have to add some exercise into the mix as well. I started with 60 grams of carbs and lowered that when I hit a stall.

Good for you!!

If only that doctor was in the States!! Great progress.

Second all of the discussions above. In addition, I sometimes look to lower another item in the budget, say new clothing (buy in "gently used" stores) or rent a movie (no theatre going), buy "used books" ,etc. Then the savings from all of the above can go directly into my food budget which is a big help some months!

Great achievement!

(a) love the haircut!! (b) really impressive for such a short amount of time (slightly jealous of both!) Rock on!

Sadly, no Trader Joes in my state :'( But there is a Whole Foods 1.5 hrs which I may have to visit. Thanks for the info!

Good times ahead for you!

Not totally weird! I don't like them. Sorry but they seem to have a strange odor to me.
-
Glad you are doing great!!

Feel better @ProCoffeenator It's hard to start the day on the wrong foot!

I did not actually feel depressed when I started this woe, I would agree with person above who labeled it "mourning". Mourning all the sweets I was so in love with. Maybe someday I will be able to eat just a few bites and feel satisfied as Bonny above, but right now I am too afraid to go down that road. If I get a case of…

@suzqtme :Anxious to know what you think of it. Please post when you finish. :)

@robbnva: I really like the Costco Kirkland brand protein bars. A box has two flavors: choco chip cookie dough and just chocolate with chips. I will admit at first they are not identical in taste to Quest, but now after finishing a box I am at peace with the taste and won't go back to Quest. @macchiatto : Re the above…

Welcome @Perry47 ! You seem to be off to a great start!

The cruise sounds like something I would like, but can't afford at the moment. Additionally I joined Diet Doctor's website and he often interviews many of those on this type of cruise and has them on his site. A cheap way to get some of the information :)

@midwesterner85 : Congratulations on the degree! B)

@kathrout1973: Sounds like you have a good plan! If it worked for you in the past it will work again. I am SO TEMPTED to try zc but as yet, can't quite commit. Keep us up to date on your progress.

I have found that I must count both calories and carbs. I can occasionally go over a bit on calories, but then I'll be under later in the week. Try any one of the options above and see how you progress. Welcome aboard.
-
Ditto all of the above. You will have hungry days and days that seem impossibly "full" with much less food. It will even out. Welcome to the group.
-
@Bayluvr : Welcome aboard :)
-
@LovelessFool : Congrats on your journey to date. Awsome. I am impressed with your 2 miles a day treadmill workout! Way to go!

Quest Bars, and now due to their ridiculous price, I've swtiched to Costco brand.
