  • I also hit the halfway point blues when I'd lost around 22 lbs. I was bored of constantly logging food and thinking about my meal plans. However, after a few days of just eating at maintainance I got back on the horse! I'm using my clothes as a motivator. I've kept a pair of trousers from at my fattest to see how far I've…
  • I also eat lunch around 12pm but don't eat dinner until much later. I definitely find a 4/5pm snack is helpful, I usually have a small portion of sushi or fruit/yoghurt around this time and then eat my dinner at about 8pm when I get back from work. I pre-log my meals if possible to work out how many calories the snack…
  • Fibre and protein is the key. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I eat lots of salad and veggies with grains. For example, rice or lentils or grains with lots of chopped up veggies ( celery, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, spring onions, mushrooms) gives you a lot of volume with relatively few calories. Sushi is also…
  • Hi Lisa, I'm 37 and also in the UK and pescatarian. Feel free to add me as a friend. Emma
  • I lost 10.5kg in three months - from 87.5kg to 77kg. You can do it but you have to be strict with yourself. Log everything and no cheat days plus plenty of exercise. I've been on a 1200-1300 a day calorie allowance and exercising five times a week. Plus I cycle 20 mins each way to the station three times a week. I only eat…
  • Try some high intensity intervals on the cross trainer or bike, 30 secs fast as you can, 30 secs recovery pace for 10-20 minutes. You can build it up every few weeks by upping the high intensity period and shortening the recovery.
  • Also I should point out that I've been using MFP for three months and I've lost nearly two stone. So whilst it's not coming off at the rate the MFP predicts, it IS coming off. Stick with it Ben and just try to double check the user entries with packaging where possible.
  • I have exactly the same issue. According to MFP if every day were like today (and it is) then I'd lose 16lb in five weeks. I never do. I weigh my food and log everything. I'm on 1200 -1300 calories a day and I only ever eat back a max of 50% of exercise calories. I've learned to accept the MFP projected weight loss as a…
  • I was also a fan of a glass of wine (or two) in the evening but I found a few things help: 1. I drink water whilst cooking and with dinner and then if I really want an alcoholic drink I have it afterwards so I'm not slurping whilst distracted 2. Going to the gym or for a walk or doing a hobby in the evening means I often…
  • Definitely do not try to run through it. I suffer from tight calf muscles and a couple of years ago I ended up with a heel stress fracture from running and ignoring the calf twinges. Make sure you warm up properly and try foam rolling as well as stretches after your run. I stopped having issues by doing that plus yoga once…
