“Go You Chicken Fat Go by the Cherry Bombs is the first song I listen to on my workout playlist. It makes me smile and gets me started.

When I started, I was at 75 g carbs a day. I paid attention to the macros but not the calories. When we decided to lower carbs to break the plateau, the dietician took me to 49 g carb a day. Calories were at 1370. Right now, I am between 75-100 g carb a day and between 1400-1500 calories. On Warrior days, I usually go over…

4-6 times a week. I do two bootcamp/Warriors classes per week, strength training with a trainer one-on-one once a week, try to do a mile in the pool twice a week and yoga on Friday nights. And most weekends in the fall through Spring, I try to do a few miles on a trail.

Oh, and there are more: I had a follow up appointment with my primary care provider this week. I'm off my blood pressure medicine (been on it for 11 years now). And my blood sugar was 94. Lower than it has been in at least 20 years! Yeah, I am on a roll!

BOOTS! I bought four pairs of boots this week. Regular boots. That zip up! The kind of boots other women have been wearing for years, but not me. Not with my former 17"-18" calves. But now! NOW my calves are just under 15" and I can walk into a store, pick out a pair (or 4 pairs) of boots, try them on, and buy the ones I…

I have been working with the same personal trainer since October 2016. Started at once a week then up to twice a week. Plus swimming, some running, hiking and yoga. Also began working with a dietician in June 2017 after an A1C test came back in the bad zone. In January 2018, I hit a plateau. It lasted for FIVE MONTHS!…

My plateau lasted FIVE months! Despite tracking, working out with a personal trainer twice a week and without the trainer another two or three days a week, meeting with a dietician every two weeks...everything you are supposed to do, I did it. And for those 5 months, the scale didn't budge. I weighed exactly the same every…

After breaking through a five month plateau...yup, 5 months at exactly the same weight every week and I never gave up...I am so close to "One-derland" I can taste it. The personal trainer I have been working out with for the past year and a half is moving out of the area in August and I would really love to get there…

Before is June 2017. After is today. I never believed I could really do this again, especially at almost 60 but I am well on my way. Still have plenty of work to do but feeling proud and happy and am down 48 pounds!

I was at a family event recently and my 20 year old niece saw me and said, "Wow! You look great. And I'm not just saying that, you look soooo good!" I still have a long way to go but words like that keep me going!

Pull ups! I did 3 sets of 5 pull-ups (assisted) this week. First time ever in my life! I felt so very strong!
