  • Save your calories for those late night snacks. If you don't think you can, try drinking zero/low calorie drinks. I sometimes need something at night so if I can't eat anymore calories, I grab a diet cherry dr. pepper to help with the craving. Or, I make a homemade chai tea latte (1/2c of unsweetened vanilla almond/cashew…
  • Damn girl!! Congrats girl. I can't wait till I get to my 9 months because I've seen so much progress in only 3! Yayyyy
  • 1st Phorm Level 1 protein - the ice cream sandwhich flavor is the absolute best. It blends up perfectly with no aftertaste. I mix 1 scoop with 1/2 (60g) banana and 1-1.5c of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a good amount of ice. Yummmmmm
  • If you're losing weight, just keep doing what you're doing. And if the calorie burn is messing with your head, then don't log your exercise at all. Sometimes the numbers mess with me too. That's why I got rid of my fitbit. I was seeing that I burn an extra 1000 calories and I would eat it all back. Surprise surprise, I…
  • If activity isn't your problem, then I say don't focus on that and only pay attention to the food you're eating as that seems to be the culprit. 90% of the time, I don't eat back any of my exercise calories. So, I have mine set at 1500 calories and say I workout that day with HIIT and lifting and I burn 600ish. I still…
  • I make a mini goal weight every 5 lbs. I don't reward myself for each of those 5lbs but when I hit 20lbs (2 more to go), I'm going to an AYCE crab buffet. Can't wait!! But that one buffet won't kick me out of my new clothes and stop me from progressing. I say, reward big when you get to a big goal weight, 20/25/50. But not…
  • I just looked at your profile. Are you new to MFP? Is your activity tracker new? I noticed with my fitbit that it took a few days to accurately total my calorie burn. PS, what do you do that causes you to burn 4000 calories a day? Just out of curiousity. :)
  • ^^This. If you are active at work, make sure your profile states that you are active so it doesn't add back those exercise calories. I'd only worry about it if you're losing way too fast (like 2-3 lbs a week). If you're not losing weight, than you may be eating too much because you may be eating back those extra exercise…
  • Rice cakes with cottage cheese on top is my go to snack. It has good carbs and protein and it's oh so yummy. I also love homemade popcorn but if you want something on the go that you don't have to cook, rice cakes are a great alternative to chips. Those tortilla chips are my downfall as well. Good luck.
  • I also recommend to stop relying on the scale. It took progress pictures for me to realize that what I was doing was worth it. The scale can be cruel and not show true progress which in turn can cause you to fall off the wagon and just give up. good luck!!
  • If you can't go your whole life not eating carbs, then Keto is not for you. You will lose about 5-10lbs of water weight when you start Keto but it's primarily water weight and the moment you eat carbs, you will gain that weight back. If you think you can actually give up carbs for life, then go ahead but I don't know about…
  • You either want it or you don't want it. Being fat is hard. Losing weight is hard. Pick your hard. If you don't have the willpower to work hard then stop complaining because it's not getting you anywhere. There are plenty of ways to lose weight on a budget. Instead of ordering multiple burgers off the dollar menu, buy a…

  • It was the most absolute breathtaking thing I've ever done. Make sure to get a video. It's worth the money and then you can just take stills from the video for pictures. Worth every penny. And seriously, the view is magnificent. Have fun!!
  • Oh wow. Thought I Was the only one. When I get nervous I have to go to the bathroom too (i.e. before a big race or for some reason it's every time I get to the pool to swim). Glad I'm not alone!
  • Sometimes yes. If I'm feeling bloated, I look to my diary and start narrowing down the culprit until I found the reason and then try to reduce or remove the culprit. Popcorn does this to me so I try to only have it once a week.
  • 4 out of my 6 workout days, I workout fasted. I drink BCAAs with my workouts and then just drink my protein smoothie afterwards. However, I workout at 530am. When I workout at 9am on the weekends, I eat before hand. Honestly, if you feel queezy working out on an empty stomach, change your routine or times you're working…
  • Oatmeal and salmon. Not together of course. But I have oats every day (sometimes twice if I'm allotted) and salmon is just the best fresh.
  • How long have you been at 1200? a week, 2 weeks? A month? A year?
  • If you're going to "cheat" do a cheat meal, not a whole day. That can set you back and ruin all your hard work for the week. Or don't consider either and just bank the calories throughout the week to compensate for those extra calories on the weekend so you remain in a weekly deficit.
  • I recommend a chest strap heart rate monitor. They're more accurate with the heart rate than wrist strap ones but what heart rate monitor you get entirely depends on what you need (waterproof, gps, steps counted etc).
  • Let me know if you find em. I only have 1 stretchy blouse and it is a lint/dog hair magnent. If I'm going to be in meetings that day, I can't wear it. It sucks. No amount of lint rollers will fix it.
  • My dad was a wakeup call for me too. Good luck on your journey. Just remember this is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix. Take progress pictures and don't only rely on the scale. Sometimes pictures will look amazing and there will be no change on the scale. Enjoy the little things on this journey like getting strong,…
  • Great post Sammy as I also have this issue.
  • I'm a big fan of reverse dieting. Don't go up 500 calories or anything but maybe start by increasing 100 calories for a couple weeks or a month and see how your weight does. Then continue from there.
  • I take 1 full rest day with no exercise and the other an active rest day of 25-30minutes of light swimming.
  • Ok. I am sorry. I am an engineer and not a scientist so my knowledge on water molecules and mass of the atoms slowing down during the freezing state is not up to par. All I was trying to get at is you don't have to weigh it raw which is what I was replaying to in the first place. I more or less meant that 4oz of cooked…
  • Thanks for posting this.
  • Open up your diary to the public. You may just be eating more calories than your think so you're maintaining instead of losing.
  • Thank you for explaining this better than I!
  • This is all I'm trying to say. I'm just saying it wrong. I do realize water has no calories. However, 4oz of frozen chicken is not the same as 4oz of raw chicken. 4oz of frozen chicken, thawed is only like 3oz or whatever of raw chicken so therefore, 3oz of chicken is less than 4oz of chicken. That's all I'm getting at.…
