  • Because 4oz of frozen chicken is going to be less calories than 4oz of raw chicken because frozen chicken weighs more. Raw weight doesn't apply in that instance because I didn't thaw it before cooking it. 4oz of frozen chicken is actually probably only 3oz of raw chicken after it's thawed (I estimated that btw). PLUS, I…
  • I workout 5-6 days a week (cardio, lifting, swimming etc). BUT, I have it set as lightly active because I have a desk job. There may be days something happens and I can't workout so I don't want to eat over my daily activity. I set my activity goal based on my job.
  • My husband and I eat different meals and we spend 150-160$ a week on food and I eat all of it! BUT, so does eating out all the time. I pick and choose my battles. I'd rather spend the money and make the food myself.
  • You don't always have to go by the raw weight. There are entries for cooked weight in MFP. Sometimes, I cook frozen chicken so the raw weight doesn't apply. I just put in "boneless, skinless chicken breast Cooked"into mfp when I'm searching to get the right numbers.
  • I would measure the amount of oil you put in the pan and then add the 300g of chicken and cook it all together. Put it in the recipe builder in MFP. Then divide that recipe into servings. That's the total amount of calories which will include your oil. So, If you put 1tbs of oil in the pan (120calories) and 300g of raw…
  • I agree will the last part you said. I've become such a planner that if I wake up in the morning and forgot to plan my breakfast, I spend more time trying to figure out what I can eat that day at that moment if I would have just pre-planned it the night (or even week) before. The only thing I meal-prep for the week is…
  • "If you try to eat perfect and exercise like crazy you set yourself yourself up for failure" I don't believe this is the correct way to say this. I eat a lot of the same things every day but that does not set me up for failure. I also, incorporate those nights of sushi, or froyo, or whatever. Why is eating "healthy"…
  • I live in the lou!! :D
  • What shadow2soul and cybertone said is correct. ORR, you can just not eat back your exercise calories and don't worry about it.
  • To be honest, if you're buying it from a restaurant, they are probably adding more cheese than you think. But, I think your estimate is close depending on how much dressing they used on your salad.
  • Money wise: Monster sugar free energy drinks. I buy 5 every week for each day during work week. I have one every morning. It's in my routine. I won't by the offbrand rice cakes. They have to be quaker. I won't buy any other icecream but halo top which is usually 2 pints a week (goodbye money). I love fresh salmon. I won't…
  • Is there a way to bring your own food to the office? If so, just ignore those snacks. They're not worth it. Just bring your own snacks so you have something to snack on instead. It's possible. Just believe you're better than that cookie or bagel and your body deserves better. You can do it!
  • Just subtrack the fiber from the total carbs in your head. There's a way for MFP to track net carbs on the web version but not the app. It's called tampermonkey on Chrome.
  • I'm an engineer and I typically do design work all day at my desk and I'm exhausted by the end of the day. So, I get my workout in in the morning before work 4 of the 5 working days and then I workout on the weekends. I don't count steps. I just count how hard I've worked out in the morning which is pretty dang hard. You…
  • No. It's not saying 99grams of chicken. It's saying 99grams of protein. 99grams of cooked chicken only has 27grams of protein in it.
  • Good luck on your search. I'm in Missouri but in St. Louis.
  • The fact that I am soooo close to being able to do a pullup on my own and I can now do 42 pushups... real pushups!
  • It was ok. The two main reasons I wanted it was to count my macros using grams instead of percentages but I just type that info in the notes section of my page in order to remember what I need. I also liked it to get rid of the ads BUT even with premium, all the stupid blog stuff kept popping up so I thought it wasn't…
  • Nothing helps with weightloss except for a calorie deficit. However, I use flax to give some oompf to my oatmeal or eggs. It makes my oats fluff up more so I like them.

  • greek yogurt with some light whip cream on top and a couple pieces of dark chocolate, halo top, homemade popcorn with some seasoning on top, light whip cream with diet rootbeer for a "rootbeer float".
  • What's your Total daily energy expenditure? Meaning, how many calories are you burning during the day. If you have a TDEE of say 2000, then you would need to eat 500 calories less than that a day to lose 1lb a week. To lose 1 pound you need to lose 3500 calories (500calories a day x 7days = 3500calories). BUT. If you eat…
  • I think these taste much better and the macros/calorie content is less. Sugar free syrup has 15calories for a 1/4c and I use half that to top these off. Add some berries to make them pretty. No egg needed. You can add protein powder to them, but since there's 3/4c of egg whites, the protein is pretty good already.
  • It depends. What are you doing for exercise? If you are just running/walking/elliptical than a fitbit or garmin is fine. If you want more accurate heart rate, I recommend a chest strap. I use the Polar A300 because I like to weightlift and the fitbit didn't give me an accurate heart rate for that because you can't get an…
  • My suggestion is eat at a calorie allotment that you can sustain without using the exercise calories. That way, you don't overwork yourself and workout every single day just to be able to get more food in your system. Because eventually, you're not going to be able to workout and you're going to feel defeated because…
  • THANKKKYYYYOUUU! I just mentioned this to the husband the other day that I need to figure out how to make this stuff myself so I don't have to keep buying it. 2 pints a week is just too much. I've got bills to pay!
  • Funny you say this. I told my husband this morning that if I have halo top for dessert and then drink my tbs of ACV before bed, I am going to the bathroom in the morning. Like bathroom, bathroom. I know people hate on ACV and I certainly don't drink it every day. But, IMO it helps me with digestion. My husband just told me…
  • I had this happen to me this weekend which is extremely strange because I'm almost always hungry. But, I pre-plan my days meals. I eat 6 small meals a day and I plan each and every one of those unless I'm going out with friends or what not and then I just try to do the best I can to stay within my macro (calorie) goals.…
  • How'd you lose that 60lbs? Congrats by the way. Are you just ready to lose that last bit? Feel free to add me.
  • I thought the mint was Wayyy too overpowering. Almost as if they put an extra 1/4teaspoon of extract in that little pint. Which, if you've ever added peppermint extract to anything, you know if you had just a drop too much it's wayy overpowering.
