Freind of mine (avid mountain biker losing weight) switched from beer to gin because of the calorie difference

I have a blow out every few weeks. Whether it be a choc night or a beer night i have gone up tp 3500 cals for the day. Next day though i'm back in the groove and in deficit. I'm still currently losing. Its not about the short term, its about the long. Don't beat yourself up about one small occasion of indulgence, we're…

My journey started May 2nd at 83.6kg. I weighed yesterday at 75kg. My goal is 70kg. Not sure where I'll be on 2nd August but it will be 3 months. I have been mostly strict with my food, weighing and logging everything. But i have also had drinks nights (beer), and blowout days (chocolate), but not many. I think without…

Exactly the same here, 76kg (167 pounds) for the last week weighing daily. This morning lost 1kg went down to 75kg (165 pounds 2.2 pounds lost). I'm getting used to this happening now!

Every day, first thing in the morning after going to the toilet, no clothes! I make sure to put the scales in exactly the same spot also :)

Ahh thank you :) Still getting to grips with the whole macros thing

How is lean body mass calculation found?

Before using MFP and weighing everything, i used to guesstimate everything. Biggest shock for me was breakfast... I'd had porrige (plus seeds, raisins etc) for breakfast for years. It was only when i used MFP and weighed everything that it really hit home how many calories i was having every morning :o

I ate tuna and sweetcorn an hour before bed last night, I do that often if i'm hungry and have calories to spare

Wow i've learned a lot from this thread alone! Keep at it and don't lose faith B) Rick

Thanks, that's good to know :)

As above for me! Must say though when i have declined it felt great :)

Whatever you do, don't forget stretches! This for me is where yoga ticks boxes, especially for strengthening core :)

Unfortunately I didn't take any measurements of waist. I've only ever measured my weight. My guide for size has been trouser waist. I was stretching 34" waist jeans to begin with. I'm now finding i have some room spare in my 32" (which is nice). I never thought about skin recovering it's tension :o Is this something I can…

Thanks for all your replies, i'll keep plugging away, it just felt strange :D abitofbliss, thankyou, that is exactly how i'm losing the weight. Very much nothing and then loads all at once!

Literally rinse in water. I make veg soup and blend it. As soon as i'm done within 5 minutes the blender is washed and away!

Thanks Hearts, glad i'm not alone on this :) My thoughts exactly, anything extra burned is a bonus :)

What keeps me going? Actually seeing the weight loss in the mirror Finding it easier by the week to get into my downsize clothes Thinking that this t-shirt is now 'too big' Being able to feel my ribs! Knowing that at 48 years old, this is the best thing i've done in years Being able to keep up with my son! There are days…

This is something about Myfitnesspal that makes me dubious of my estimated 'calories burned'. If i log exercise i always err on the side of limiting the minutes as i don't believe i burn 611 calories in 70 minutes (not to put you off!!). I do a lot of gardening myself. Yesterday i mowed the lawn and cut hedges non-stop for…

I had a planned 'bad day' yesterday. 3861 calories consumed. 3046 of those calories was chocolate and cake! 1300 calories over my maintenance weight. Do i feel bad today? Yes! Will i do this in a few weeks time? Probably! :) This is my treat day where i just don't care. I 've been doing this every couple of weeks…

Thanks for your reply, glad to hear i'm not alone on this! :) It deters me a bit, as it feels like I'm putting weight back on, but the scales prove otherwise Regards, Rick
